Thanks for the critique on the newest attempt. It's good to know that I'm atleast improving a little. I was not going for a blizzard effect, so thanks for the tip on the brushes. I guess by soft brushes you mean ones that seem to be blurry at the edges? I used the jagged brush because the basic round brush made things look to fake. This new information should be helpful.

To me, some of the characters looked a bit faded, so just tried adjusting all of them to make them look the same. Now I know that I don't have to do that.

That sig will be on the back burner for now because I'm working on the Chez Geek cards now. I do need help finding a font to match the originals (I can't seem to find the font the company used, and I'm sure that's due to it being a custom one). After I get some new cards edited, I'll post a comparison and maybe if we all put our heads together we can figure something out.

Yep! If you hover your mouse over the brushes it'll say "Soft Round Brush" (or something similar).
So yes, the ones without this "soft" effect are much too harsh if you want to focus on blending. :)

If you want characters to not look as faded, you can always duplicate the character layer and set it to "multiply" or "overlay" (whatever looks best in a given situation - the result obviously differs depending on the original images). These layer modes can darken the lines if the characters are much too faded or light.

Ok, sounds good re: the cards. :)

What line of Wacom do you own if that is the one you own? I know friends that have the Intuos line and they like it very much. They say it is like drawing on paper. I'll probably go for the Bamboo Fun as well because I'm not that big of an artists, but I would like more control over the graphics manips I do. Especially when it comes to redrawing lines and such on pictures. I'll have to show you what I'm talking in my topic because I'm not going to hijack Biblio's for something like (or anything becuase I think that would be rude.)

I own the Graphire4, which has been discontinued, I believe (in favor of the new lines). It was about 100$ when I bought it and still works like a charm. I use it for inking my drawings for the most part. Oh, and I used to use it for iSketch because my mouse at the time was messed up and would "jump" often. Like, the cursor would be at the bottom of the canvas and if I moved it the slightest, the cursor would jump to the middle or top of the canvas, resulting in a weird, random line. -___-;;

Bamboo Fun is designed for what you are saying you want to do, so I say go for that line. It is more than enough for inking lines and other basic things.

Thanks, then that will be the one I get for now (unless an Intuos goes on sale, but I doubt it will). Thank you for sharing the info about the other tablet you had.

I have a question about fonts. Once you install them on your computer, how do you get them to run in the programs you want to use them in? Is there a special fonts folder they need to go in? I'm such a newb when it comes to these things. Thanks in advance for the help on this.

Nope, fonts are loaded in every program by default.

If you're using Windows, simply install them to C:/Windows/Fonts.

Yep, and if you're using a Mac (I'm not sure...) then just clicking on a .ttf [although I'm not quite certain if it accepts other font types, I've seen it reject everything but .ttf, so...] it will automatically open Font Book and ask you if you want to install it.

Thanks, it worked perfectly.

That is very interesting to learn.

Now that I have the most correct looking font for my cards, I'm going to update them all and start working on this project seriously. There are many Chez Geek Cards in the main set and the two expansions, so it will take me a while to complete them all. I'll probably try to work on sets of types first (Job Cards, Person Cards, etc.)

Thank you for not letting my thread die. I guess that means I should post more, right? I'll see what I can do for later in the week, but no promises.

Thank you for the compliments on my Photoshopping. I'm always trying to improve and if you have any suggestions, please feel free to share them.

I'm very proud of Objectionopoly.

Thanks for the compliment. I didn't have to do any editing to Mia's sprite either. She just naturally looked like she was pinching him, and I just couldn't resist. I'm sure Diego would never turn her in, for he would welcome any advances from her.

I promised to get something up here this week, and I did. Yay for me.

The new GK demo inspired me to mae some new, and in one case, improved Chez Geek Parody cards. I found a font that is either the same as the one they use, or close enough that you really can't tell the difference. I'm going to try to make this parody card game a complete version. For now I have a lot of brainstorming to finish before I can begin on making the proper cards.

Spoiler: GK Demo Spoilers. Don't open if you haven't played.
ImageI should probably change the name of Attorney's Badge, to Defense Attorney's Badge. Since this exists now.

Okay, a minor detail.

I don't recall if all boards have that feature. I don't remember if the I downloaded to make the manipulation had it either. I had to clean up everything on it just get a workable surface.

If you want to, go ahead. File size I worked with isn't as big as an actual game board but I remember it being fairly big. I've thought about making all the property cards for the game, but I've just been too lazy to work on that.

I'm hoping to work on some new stuff once I get some real life work taken care of first. We have all those new Kenji graphics and I've wanted to put into cards and such (all spoilers will be marked of course. I don't want to get in trouble either).

Oh man, it's been too long lonely graphics thread. I really miss working in Photoshop and doing stuff like this. I thought I'd never see these things again (goes to save them all).

Sadly, my computer that had Photoshop bit the dust and I've been unable to obtain another copy. My computer at work has Elements on it, but I can't very well be working on forum stuff at work.
