Except that this is mostly the prologue of it, and this first part would be the opening cinematic if it were a video game case

“You may be wondering how I know this,” The man began again.

Phoenix stood in the lobby, leaning against one of the walls anxiously. “Where is Mia…?” He wondered to himself.

A moment later, a brunette woman entered the lobby, quickly scanning the room.

“Hey, Chief,” Phoenix greeted as he walked towards his boss. “You’re even later today than you were for my first case!”

“Sorry about that, Phoenix,” Mia apologized. “Good luck today.”

“Thanks.”

“You surprised me when you won your first case two weeks ago,” Mia said with a sly grin.

“R-Really?”

“Well, no,” Mia admitted. “You impressed me. I knew you had what it took to win. But if you can win today, then you’ll surprise me.”

“Wh-What’s so special about today?” Phoenix tentatively asked.

“You’re going against Miles Edgeworth, one of the top attorneys in the country,” Mia answered. “He hasn’t lost a single case since becoming an attorney four years ago at the age of 20.”

“I had just gotten over that fact,” Phoenix flatly said as he began to sweat bullets. “Thanks for reminding me.”

“Oh, I’m sure you’ll be fine,” Mia giggled as the bailiff declared that the trial was about to begin. “Let’s go, Phoenix.”

District Court
Courtroom No.3

“Court is now in session,” The gray-bearded judge declared.

Phoenix calmly stared at the gray-haired man on the other side of the courtroom. ‘Miles Edgeworth…’ he thought. ‘I’d better not show any signs of weakness today, or he’ll be on me in an instant.’

“Are you two ready?” The judge asked the young men.

“The prosecution is ready, Your Honor,” Phoenix said.

“The defense is ready, Your Honor,” Miles said.



Yep! It's another one of those fics :P (Well I've only seen one... but I'm sure there's a ton of other ones! xD) Just an idea I had... but I had it after I had forgotten about that "Care to switch, Wright?" Edgeworth has at the end of 1-4... so it still counts as being original! I was going to say this is an AU fic, but I don't think it's different enough... basically, what would happen if Manfred von Karma and Larry Butz were found guilty in their respective trials and Phoenix became a prosecutor and Miles a defense attorney. (In case you couldn't tell, the boy in the cinematic was Miles Edgeworth and the man was Robert Hammond. I know the trials weren't at the same time. I don't care. I already bent canon enough by having Manfred and Larry lose and by having Mia be a prosecutor, so bending it a bit more won't hurt :P) This isn't my first fanfic, but it's my first PW fanfic.
I guess I just felt like posting this up to see how people reacted to this idea. Just 'cause I don't have any ideas for this case, doesn't mean I don't have them for any other ones! ^_^ As you can see, instead of 'Turnabouts', it's 'Reversals'. Since it's a different timeline, I didn't want to use the same word, but I gotta use something like that!
Anyway, as I've stated, this is in the plot bunny stage. I have ideas for a few trials... but unfortunately, not this one (^^') This is a random trial that takes place between Phoenix first trial (prosecuting against Frank Sahwit for Larry) and Mia's murder. But I haven't figured out anything else about this case.... Well, actually, I only ideas for three (Twin Reversal, Revived Reversal, and one whose name is too much of a spoiler :P) but they're all epic!
And I think there's probably one more reason why I'm posting this up here.... I kinda want to see if anyone happens to have random plot bunnies for cases I could use.... I really need them ^^' (since I only have ideas for 3...)
Also, I need people to vote on someone... it will be a 'guest prosecutor' for a very special case :D (the spoiler-name one) Just tell me who you want it to be, and whoever gets the most votes will be the prosecutor! It can be anyone from the PW games (not AJ, tho). The only exceptions are it can't be a lawyer ('cause that's too typical) or a victim ('cause we don't know their personality!). Or Maya (Phoenix needs her) ^_^ (However, I will allow Elise Deuxnim, 'cause she's... you know...)

Anyway, you've got a nice start here. I like the idea of switching roles, and it would be interesting to see how the Phoenix Wright formula is changed with him being a prosecutor. You have a good start, although it is a bit short. But definetely continue!

Thanks for commenting, Mia! This is just a short sample, so hopefully the main part will be smoothed out. Besides, there wasn't much to work with with these parts... I have to do the beginning in a way that I can just repeat it, switching 'man' and 'boy' for the dramatic effect, the second part is just small talk and setting the setting, and the end is just revealing that Edgey and Phoenix have switched (and that line Phoenix thinks comes from 1-2, which is why I can't change that :P)


All right, news about this!

I'm changing the name to Black and White Reversal, since it really isn't the first reversal, just the first written reversal. Of course, that's too long to change the title to, so I'm leaving it like that ^^'

I have the basic ideas, but just need to flesh out the details a bit lot more.

Super tiny sneak preview: The victim is Earl Bony, and the defendant is Isaac Vory. Once you see where I got the names from (which shouldn't be too hard), you'll see where the title comes from ;)
(Fun fact about the case: I made up both of those names at the exact same time. The only reason Isaac is the defendant is because I liked the name Isaac more than Earl, so Earl is the one who was killed)

Expect this case to be up relatively soon... hopefully.... ^^'

(and I still need to figure out what to do with Maya =\ )
