Title: Behind the Scenes/Between the Lines
Author: Matthew "The Doctor a.k.a. Director Degrassi" Jessup
Rating: T?
Genre: Mostly humor, I suppose.
Status: Don't think it'll ever be completed.
Pairing: A ton. These are just short bursts of stories. A bit of implied Phoenix/Edgeworth, some DiegoxMia, and more.
Summary: A load of short stories designed to illustrate what happens behind the scenes of Phoenix Wright! Some things take place in the past, some in GS4-time, some in the present, and some in an alternate universe. They're just short bursts of energy that I write (Wright?) when I'm bored.

Reviews are well-appreciated and well-loved. Thank you. Oh, and there are mild spoilers, nothing huge.

Chapter 1: A Peculiar Taste in Music
For the first time in a while, Phoenix arrived his office before Maya. He dusted the shelves, tidied the table, and watered Charlie. Finally, he reclined in his chair, put on his favorite CD, and waited for Maya.
"Nick?"
Phoenix nearly fell out of his chair. Maya had entered silently. He quickly turned off the CD.
"Good morning," he said in a casual way. Maya looked at him uncertainly.
"W-were you just listening to Prozzäk?" she asked.
"...Yes," Phoenix replied. "What's wrong with Prozzäk?"
Maya didn't answer for a second.
"Nick," she finally said. "You need a girlfriend."

Chapter 2: An Evening of FUN!
Miles Edgeworth stood on the doorstep of Phoenix's apartment, pink Gameboy Advance SP in hand. He had no idea why he had accepted Phoenix's offer. Something had compelled him to.
He banged on the door. Moments later, Phoenix answered it.
"Hello, Edgeworth!" he said. "Come in, come in."
Edgeworth stepped inside Phoenix's apartment and looked around. He headed toward the couch and sat down without invitation. He looked up as Phoenix plunked a large bowl of popcorn on the coffee table.
"Hang on, I need to put the movie in," Phoenix said, moving to a DVD player and putting Galaxy Quest inside. He turned on his large-screen TV, and went to sit next to Edgeworth.
"How did you get enough money to buy all this, Wright?" Edgeworth asked, incredulously. It was usually prosecutors who were payed the most. Even Winston Payne had a better salary than Wright. Of course, the prosecutors were payed by the state. Phoenix had stingy clients who, despite the fact that he had saved their lives, decided not to pay him. Of course, there was also the fact that his assisstant spent all the money on hamburgers...
"Just got a big payoff for the Gant case," Phoenix replied, fiddling with the remote controls. Finally, the movie was set up.
"Activate the Omega-13!" Phoenix said in a dramatic voice. Edgeworth, suddenly a lot less refined than normal, grabbed a handful of popcorn from the bowl.

Chapter 3: Diego's World
((This takes place in the same universe that my story YuuMare: The High School Days! takes place in. Long story short: Diego Armando is the superintendent at thhe food court in the mall. At my food court, everyone works everywhere. Yes, this was an excuse to use my original character and that quote from Wayne's World.))
"Woah!" Matthias said to Diego, looking at Diego's girlfriend Mia as she waited for the people at Burger King to place their orders. Matthias was a strange person, rarely seen without a hat. His plan for his life involved becoming a doctor. He was actually quite a smart person, though you wouldn't know it from looking at him. This working at the food court was only temporary.
"Yep," Diego said. "We are now officially going out."
"She's a babe," said Matthias, changing his voice to sound completely different from what it normally sounded like.
"Yep," Diego repeated. He didn't regret his friendship with Matthias, just for moments like this when he spouted off something hilarious.
"She's magically babe-licious!" Matthias continued. "She rates very high on the Strokability Scale."
Diego burst out laughing.

Chapter 4: Manfred's Daily Tragedies
((This takes place approximately ten years before the games, when both of Manfred's daughters were at home. At least, they are in this chapter.))
Manfred von Karma, "perfect" prosecutor with a win record dating back thirty years, sat at the dining room table with his two daughters. He had somehow been roped into a game of Monopoly, and was, although he hated to admit it, enjoying himself. He rolled a double six and moved to Park Place. He was winning, of course. He was perfect, after all. He threw the dice and rolled a two. Grabbing his marker (The hat), he moved to Boardwalk and bought that, too.
"Daddy!" Franziska whined. "You're buying all the good places!"
"Silence!" Manfred said, and rolled the dice again. It was a double two.
"Ooooh," the other daughter said. "You rolled three doubles in a row!"
"What does that mean?" Manfred said, looking at the rules.
"You have to go to jail!" Franziska said, and moved Manfred's piece to the IN JAIL square.
Manfred pounded the table, sending the pieces flying everywhere, and screamed with rage.

Chapter 5: An Evening of MORE FUN!
"No!" Edgeworth yelled at the screen. Him and Phoenix were watching old episodes of Star Trek at Edgeworth's house.
Phoenix looked at Edgeworth with mild amusement.
"You know, Edgeworth," he said. "You're the last person I'd expect to be a closet Star Trek fan."
"Of course I am, Wright! Now, be quiet, you're missing the good part."
The ship had to take down the enemy hoard. It charged up the lasers.
"Arg!" Edgeworth roared at the screen. "What are you doing? Use the damn tractor beam!"
Phoenix choked on the pretzels he had been eating.

Chapter 6: Word Games
Maya and Pearl sat on the floor, playing Scrabble.
"OK, I'll put these this letter here," Maya said, spelling out "mice".
Pearl played next. She made the word "reveal" on a double word score. Morgan Fey, who was helping out, wrote down the score. Maya then played "burgers". Morgan looked at the board and whispered something in Pearl's ear. Pearl bent over the board for a second. When she straightened up, Maya looked at the board and gave an exclamation of surprise.
"Psychoanalysis?" she asked, weakly.
"And it's on a quadruple word score," Pearl said, a hint of smugness in her voice.
Maya just stared at the board, completely dumbstruck.

Chapter 7: Urning Respect
((This takes place when Mia was a child.))
"Ha!" said Mia to her baby sister Maya. Mia held the urn containing the spirit of Ami Fey up.
"Whoever controls the urn controls the Undertaker!" she said, loudly. She knew about this from a program she had watched on TV, called VINTAGE WRESTLING. They had held the urn up and a man called The Undertaker had magically appeared. He was supposed to be a spirit from another world. Mia, having led a slightly sheltered life, had no idea that it was just smoke-and-mirrors.
She held the urn up high as Maya watched.
"Arise, Undertaker!" Mia said. Nothing happened. Mia looked at the urn. Maybe this was the wrong kind of urn. She held it upside down and shook it. Ever curious, Maya tried to grab it. The urn smashed on the ground.
"What is going on?" called the voice of Misty Fey.
"SHE DID IT!" Mia shrieked, and ran off.

Chapter 8: Spring Cleaning
It was that time of year again. Phoenix looked around at his office, which had accumulated a good quantity of dust in his absence. Books lay stacked on chairs, and paperwork covered most of the desk.
Phoenix sighed and started to work. He organized the papers on his desk and dusted the shelves where his books should go. He stared at the many law books stacked on the chairs. Just looking at them gave him a headache. He put them away and glanced around. The only thing left was his desk, which was covered in coffee stains from the many late nights he had spent here. He grabbed a wet washcloth and some soap and set to work.
"Out!" he said as he worked. "Out, damn spot! May you never tarnish the apppearance of my desk again!"
He vigorously scrubbed his desk until it was bright and shiny, reciting various Shakespeare lines along the way. Finally, that was done. He wouldn't have to worry about cleaning for another year or so. Oblivious to him, there had been a witness to the whole affair. In the Gatewater Hotel next to Phoenix's office, the bellboy, who had opened the window to let the room air out, ducked behind a bed and laughed.

Chapter 9: THE LOST CHAPTER.
“Welcome to Kindergarten!” the new teacher said, writing his name on the board. “My name is Damon Gant. I look forward to getting to know you all!”

Chapter 10: An Evening of EVEN MORE FUN!
Once again, Edgeworth had been invited to Phoenix's apartment. Phoenix was, at the moment, setting up the GameCube.
"You remembered your Gameboy, right, Edgeworth?" Phoenix asked as he struggled with the A/V cables.
In reply, Edgeworth withdrew a pink Gameboy Advance SP from his pocket.
"Good, good," Phoenix said absently finally plugging the GameCube in. Because of his meager wages, this was all he could afford. He connected the two Gameboy Advances to the GameCube and turned it on. He sat on the couch next to Edgeworth.
"I'm stuck in that cloudy level," Phoenix complained, as the Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures logo filled the screen. Edgeworth selected Phoenix's file and entered "that cloudy level".
"Edgeworth!" Phoenix said, as the four little Links were traversing the stage.
"What?" Edgeworth asked.
"Go into the Dark World! I think you can carry me across those chasms!"
Edgeworth did as he was told. Soon all four Links were across the gap.
Once again, Edgeworth wondered why he was enjoying himself, but stopped when he was nearly killed by a giant.

Chapter 11: Send in the Pros
"See, it happened like this, pal," Gumshoe was telling Chief Specter. "The victim had stopped at an intersection when he was struck by a car. The other car then fled!"
Chief Specter wrote down a few notes.
"Read me the accident report again," he said, smiling slightly.
"Sure thing, pal! It says: I had stopped at the intersection when an invisible car came out of nowhere, hit me, and vanished."
Specter snorted with laughter. The accident reports were the main reason he loved his job, apart from the times when something interesting happened across the street.
"Has anyone seen my stapler?" called Maggey Byrde from across the room. Gumshoe grabbed one off of Specter's desk and nearly tripped over his own feet trying to give it to her.
"Thanks, detective," Byrde said.
"Sure thing, pal!" Gumshoe replied. Suddenly, there was a shriek from outside the station.
"HEEEEEEEELP!"
Specter looked up.
"Th-that sounded like..." he breathed. "She needs help!"
"Should I get someone, pal?" Gumshoe asked, looking around.
"No, I'll handle it," Chief Specter replied, standing up. "Agents are...GO!" he roared, pointing forward.
Nothing happened. Gumshoe stared at Specter with a funny look on his face.
"Are you feeling all right, pal?" Gumshoe asked uncertainly.
"Sorry," mumbled Specter. "I've just always wanted to do that."

Chapter 12: Manfred's Weekly Tragedies
Why, Manfred thought to himself as he drove down the highway. Why had he let his daughter have a whip for her birthday? He should have forseen what would've happened! He should have refused!
No, he thought, turning into the driveway. No. He had always thought of himself as the perfect parent, and he had gotten that whip for her to use when she became a famous prosecutor.
When he entered the house, he saw the wreckage of a lamp on the floor.
"FRANZISKA!" he roared. Franziska came running, whip in hand.
"Yes?" she asked.
"Did you break this lamp?" Manfred asked, holding up what was left of said lamp.
Franziska paused for a second.
"Only that bottom part there," she replied.
Manfred bashed his head against the wall.

Chapter 13: Sheer Excellence
Odoroki slumped, defeated, against the wall. Kyouya had him, he knew it. There was only one way out of this: bluff.
"OBJECTION!" he roared, suddenly strong. Kyouya looked up, slightly surprised but still confident.
"Yes, Forehead Boy?" Kyouya asked.
"I-I thought I would think up a question while I was yelling," said Odoroki, "But I didn't. You win, Kyouya."
"EXCELLENT!" Kyouya cried. He started to play the air guitar.

Chapter 14: Yet Another Evening of FUN!
The Sniper and Dante faced each other in the middle of a steadily rotating turntable. They were both inside a clock tower, high above the ground. Suddenly, The Sniper lunged. Using his kunai, he grabbed Dante and threw him. Dante smashed into the wall and fell the long way down.
“RING OUT!” said the announcer.
“Ha!” Edgeworth roared. “Take THAT!”
“Hey, don’t be so mean,” Phoenix mumbled. “I’m just not very good at this game! You need to let me get used to the Iron Sword!”
Edgeworth had invited Phoenix over for a friendly game of Soul Calibur III. Well, it had stretched to ninety-seven games so far, and it didn’t seem like it was about to let up.
“Let’s play something else,” Phoenix said, looking at Edgeworth’s immense library of video games. He was surprised at how many Edgeworth had. Edgeworth never struck him as the videogame playing type. Phoenix plunged a hand into the collection and pulled out the first game he could find.
“Gitaroo Man,” he read, and shrugged. “Does this sound good to you, Edgeworth?”
It just so happened that Edgeworth had gotten second place in the World Gitaroo Maniacs Tournament, losing to some person called Dr. Degrassi.
“That sounds great,” Edgeworth said, smiling an evil smile and selecting the hardest song for two-player mode.

-----
Yes, this will be continued. I apologize.

Contrary to popular belief, begging for reviews does not encourage people to respond. Please do not bump your own topics.

Trust me, my friend. You need not to beg, for they will come. Just build a baseball field. Anyway, I found Behind the scenes to have some very humous moments, some that strangely mirrors my own life.

Ch.1-I'm not so familiar with the group, so I can't give a good review on the skit.

Ch.2- This is pretty much me and my best friend right here. I found familiarity with this chapter and find it good.

Ch. 3- Not bad...not bad.

ch. 4- Manfred, playing Monopoly...that made me roll on the floor!

ch. 5- Again, my best friend and me! I find this very entertaining.

Ch. 6- The Feys playing Scrabble. For some reason, I believe they actaully did this.

Ch. 7- Now this I must say is the greatest one! I'm a huge Undertaker fan and just died laughing when I read this! (Pun intended)

Ch. 8- Phoenix recited Shakespeare quotes? Hm, stranger things have happened.

Ch. 9-er...must be the lost chapter.

Ch. 10- See chapter 1 & 5 review for resource.

ch. 11- I have yet to play this game, but I want to. I really got a laugh from Gumshoe's accident report.

Ch. 12- Ah, more Von Karma humor. He should have never gotten her that whip.

Ch. 13- Homage to Bill and Ted, excellent.

Excellent!
Although, in the case of the tractor beam, I would instead recommend photon torpedoes.

Just to say that, due to coming exams etc. I will probably be gone for the next few months or so. Hope to be back in the summer!
