Do you use paint only?

I don't really think you can make transparency.
Many people download GIMP just for the transparency.
If you download that, and then find one of the topics [Help with gimp, or the topic Percei made] it could probably help you more.

Well uh, as mensioned somewhere on the forum XD GIMP is totally free.
It's a software similar to photoshop.
I don't use it, but many people do.

I don't know exactly, but it has to do with the image settings, like whether it's in RGB colour or whatever. That's all I can tell you... IDK how to fix it :yuusaku:

The easiest way to do that is to download some screentones and copy and paste them on top of the screenshot using GIMP or Photoshop (if they aren't already transparent, set the layer it's on to Multiply). There are a lot of good speedline screentones at psychobob.xepher.net IIRC. Barring that, a Google search of 'free screentones' reaps many results.

When I copypasta some characters already made in the AA series (such as Desiree' for example), in another MS Paint thing (whether completely new or otherwise), the color scheme all of the sudden goes out of whack. Any idea why this happens?

I use a program called paint.net that I downloaded for free after hearing of it from a Windows Vista magazine...I have been toying with it a fair bit. :) I want to know how to edit sprites on that program, please. :)

OOH I HAVE A QUESTION~~ Does anyone know of a method/program that will allow you to paste one animated gif over another that will match them to the correct timing, rather than matching frame 1 to frame 1 and frame 2 to frame 2? For example, I'm working with the AJ sprites, and with Plum's sword-drawing animation the gleam was a different gif from the rest of her. I assume what happens when the DS plays the sprite is it runs them at the same time one over the other. But when putting them together into a single gif, though the animations are the same length they don't match up because the number of frames each uses is different. With Plum I was able to break down every frame to a smaller length and match them up that way, but it's really annoying with the sweating sprites (which is why non of them are up). I even tried putting them into Adobe Premiere, but it wouldn't read the transparency on the sweat. Ideas, spriters? (I've also had a weird problem with connecting two gifs one after the other - when I save it for some reason overlaps the frames where I joined them. I'm using ImageReady).

Yes, certainly. Take a look at the sprites of Ami Tjari (or however you spell it). They're awesome, and use nothing but paint.

As I've said before, I only use GIMP for Transparency and/or animation. Ami Tajiri, as Jibber said, uses it, and I'm not sure, but I think even Ceres uses it.

hmm, I suggest using paint and /or photoshop for spriting, and Gimp for animating. At least that's how i like to work. (little bit of everything)

Yeah GIMP is a little confusing. I use paint mostly, but Serif has layering so I like that. The layering is different than GIMP. I find it less confusing.

Well, from the sound of it, there should be a possibility. Then again it only takes about 1 Frame fix with the two sprites after being ripped from the other Gif of about 1 MInute a frame or so, or more if it's more detailed one. However, it's a interesting program if it existed something to that extent. Especially for some quick Glue up and you can save the full animations on Gif and utilize them. Damn now I'm interested. :P Is there any? I want to save space.
