I posted up new images of a character a while ago, so now I'll pot a few more of him. This is Stuart Dentlee:
He'll be a new character in my game, so keep in eye out for him.
I did something a little new when making this character.
This summer hasn't been very productive as I would have wanted it to be. So I found myself unable to work up the energy to make new sprites. With that said, I hired an artist to take a character image and draw up some poses.
First I had to draw a rough sketch of the character:
Then I had to make a blueprint of the poses for the artist to work with:
After sharing some official images from the game (For character art reference) the artist was able to create poses with the character and this is how they turned out:
After getting the images from the artist I used Photoshop to re-size Stuart to fit the game. After that I saved him as a .gif file with a 24 color limit (Had to pick out the 24 colors) copy pasted to MS Paint and edit the character. The result is the Sprite sheet you see above. Thanks goes out to the artist, as I didn't have enough time to do the sprite work. I wish i could have but I was up against a wall when it came to time.
I may do this again, but I'd like to try spriting myself again. Not that I'm lazy, It's just when you get old you find you don't have times to do things yourself anymore. Later~

Those are fan-frocking-tastic sprites! Worthy of the actual Ace Attorney series!
I really like this way of making sprites. When I think about it, that's probably how it was done in the later ace attorney games.

Thanks for the .gifs Phoenix. I would have gotten to it but this does save me some time. I'm sure c(r)apcom does a method similar to what I did. If you look at the image of young Edgeworth he looks strikingly similar to the sprite in the Ace Attorney game.

I'll abstain from saying how much this cost. It's not really anyone's business how much I paid for this.

Well I'm sure it was worth every penny
It looks amazing.That being said however, if you plan on doing stuff this way from now on, that's kind of a shame. I actually really liked the sprites you made yourself, and they have a certain PW-charm to them. But if you don't have the time for spriting anymore, then so be it, we will always have the first two cases with your own sprites, and the rest of the cases is going to be awesome either way

I think you've left out the editing that was supposed to make the linings more smooth. The anti-aliasing on the mouth, for example, has shades that simply differ too much to look smooth.

one thing id like to say about it...the arms...they seem oddly smaller then the rest of the sprite...maybe thats just me...
also fun tidbit...all the sprites youve seen in the ace attorney series and ghost trick started as drawling and converted to sprites from them.

It doesn't make any sense to have his arm over the desk anyway. He'd have to be practically laying on the desk for his arm to be over like that

He's hand...elbow...wut ever, is suposed to stay on the table, behind our sight.

His name is Mills Macintosh. And yes... He eats apples. That sprite coming soon.

but the way he hold his apple looks bit...odd to me.
I'm guessing it's supposed to be aiming a bit to the front, yes?
Now, the thing is that (at least to me) it looks like hand is just pointing to his side.
Please let me say it; I don't know if that actually is the way it's supposed to be,
but if not, you might want to edit it a bit in a way that Engarde uses his hand with the wine glass.
Something like this: (mind my lazyness with this quick example :P)
Other than that I'm having no other nagging points.

I also have something else to share that I didn't make. I found these interesting drawings of Phoenix, Maya, Trucy and Kid Edgey. They're drawn in AAI style and some pics are converted into sprites. I'm not sure if someone here at the boards made these, I apologize for any inconvenience this has to the person who made them. They're just too amazing not to share.
If I ever find out who this person is, I'd like to hire them.
