This forum is for fanart.

Please post only your own work. If it contains spoilers, make sure you label as such in the topic. ONLY Phoenix Wright fanart is allowed here.

Do not post adult material here. Post a link to the adult material. Be sure to label appropriately!

If you respond to any fanart posted here, do so NICELY and CONSTRUCTIVELY.

If you would like to submit any of your work to Court Records, please make a note in your post.

Okay, this has been bothering me for a long time now, but...

I noticed everyone around here uses image shack. Can I just put up links to my devart submissions instead? ._.

Sure, go ahead. I don't see a problem with that.

Question - Might there be a thread for requests? Or a subforum? For those of us who don't have any artistic talent :(

Author:  Garlar [ Thu Apr 12, 2007 5:39 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Posting Guidelines

I agree. CantFaketheFunk's idea isn't bad at all. So we artistic talents (yeah, talent... suuure) can choose a commission. Non-artist users would see what they want (besides our own work, obviously) and we would always have at least a general idea of what to draw. Perfect if you lack ideas :D

What about fan characters? I've noticed in the Sprites section a lot of people sprite fan characters...but I haven't seen a real fan character thread here, so I want to be sure.

Okay, quick question.
If I have a crapload of comics, would it be bad to create a thread for each?

Post subject:  Re: Posting Guidelines

Er, I've got a few questions...

I've got a few PW scans from a doujinshi that I didn't draw, but I did colored a few of them in out of boredom.
Would I be able to post them if I gave proper credit to the original artist? Or does any art I post here have to be completely my own? o_O?

...Would this even be the right section to post them? .__.?

just like you would signature banners or what not, (url of image) , without the spaces.

to upload an image from your computer to the internet, you could use a free image hosting site such as photobucket and imageshack.

and I still want to know an answer for my fan character question...

Was the question on if Fan characters are allowed answered? I have one from a fanfic that I'm WIP writing (It's REALLY long) called Zeth Gant (Son of Damon Gant obviously) which I' doing a bit of art for cause he's getting pretty popular on Deviant art. He's a detective / lawyer with a bad habit of gambling with people's virdicts- and winnng

Spoiler: OC art- Zeth Gant

Can I post art of him in the forum?

Ok, question about adult content; is it ok to post mildly sexual content under spoiler tags? Nothing too graphic really.

Author:  Nose [ Thu Oct 01, 2009 7:06 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Posting Guidelines

Just specify what the particular adult content is in the spoiler tag and you're good to go. (ie. Mild Yaoi, NSFW, that kind of thing)

edit: apologies, although alright in most circumstances, please refer to Lunaria's post for proper guidelines.

I say it's best to err on the side of caution and post everything as link instead of an image if you're not sure.

I'm definitely not someone important on this forum page, but If I had to take a guess, I'd say fan characters are OKAY as long as they are AA/GS/GK related. After all, Court Records DOES host an OC character contest. If they weren't Okay with OC's, then they wouldn't host a contest for them...

But again, I'm just a "suspect" here, and by no means have any authority or power whatsoever~

That falls under "copyright infringement" territory.

Artwork copyright has this neat little thing where, as long as you change the original by at LEAST 29% you can redistribute it. You cannot ever copy and redistribute another artists works unless giving them sole credit for the work or with their express permission. Tracing another artists work, while by your hand, doesn't change he fact that the artwork in question is their intellectual property. Unless you change a pose, alter an outfit, rearrange the scenery or something to this extent (expressly with your own artwork as those substitutions) then it's a very slippery slope.

Does that mean that this never happens, no. Does that mean you should do it anyway, in my opinion - definitely not. Besides, while you can use those arts as your practice, the true pleasure in drawing is when you've made something all your own. Sure the character isn't yours, but you've put them in a place (position, outfit, scenery or WHATEVER) that is altogether new to them.

But I'm pretty romanticized about the artistic world. I will also admit, tracing or redistributing artwork is very hard on the original artists. I err on the side of trying to make their life a little easier~

Hi, I'm new here. Just wanted to ask if yaoi or yuri is allowed here? I know for drawings of an adult nature, I'd have to post links, but if these links lead to homoerotic content, is that permitted? I don't want to offend too many people. :C

Thanks!

It's allowed, but keep it in spoiler tags stating they have that kind of content. If it isn't PG13, then you have to link the image as a URL, not as an image

One more thing. Are there any guidelines as to what constitutes PG-13 and what doesn't? In terms of how much is allowed? Eg, kissing/nudity/states of undress/themes, etc? Or maybe if in doubt I'll spoiler and link XD

Rule of thumb is that of the "when in doubt, err in the side of caution". Though, if you googled PG-13 standards, or Wiki'd it or something, I'm sure you'd find pretty concrete guidelines for it. (They'd be geared towards film, but still, it'd give you an idea)

Got it thanks~ I think I'll just go with worksafe vs NSFW instead of PG/NC-17/MA/R ratings that do my head in. XD

well.. it wouldn't be allowed in any of the pages that are listed as explicitly PW materials... but as the main site has some Ghost trick articles, I can't reasonably see why not~

So you think I'd be okay posting Ghost Trick fanart and graphics? I really love the bold art style and want to make some wallpapers of it =D

Also on a related question, would I be allowed to post fanart of other series' characters cosplaying PW characters, and vise versa?

Post subject:  Re: Posting Guidelines

As far as I'm aware Ghost Trick should be allowed given that it takes part in the AA universe, but I'll pm Croik about it for clarification. You should be able to post graphics of it regardless, different rules apply there.

I've searched for an art trade thread, but couldn't find one. Is it ok to make one that is for trading of art, not just requesting? If there is already one, can someone please link it to me so it can be revived? I seriously can't believe why there isn't one. Art trades >>> Art requests.
