i LOVE THE KLEMA ONE!!! it is really adorable. also,i dont think the background needs anything else,having it crowded would draw attention away from the characters.

As for updates... I'm sad I couldn't get the Miles drawing done in time. It's hardly done. D8 I knew it was too ambitious trying to get a huge piece done just a few days before AAI's release. Oh wells. Won't be putting up WIPs for it anymore, but once I get at least the lineart for it done I'll post it here. And I think after that I'll try to get the other WIPs on my list done for a change. xD

So, umm... I feel a little silly now. >U>; I was so determined to get this done when the release for AAI was fast-approaching, and I still haven't finished it. Here's what I got so far:
Let me just say that doing this was like baptism by fire. I have so very little experience with backgrounds so I strained myself a lot when I did this. xD I'm not sure whether I should continue it since I felt like I didn't do Miles' office justice once I started playing, but maybe I shouldn't; I spent so much time on it after all. FOGRIV ME MILES. ;3;
Anyhoo, still needs a lot of fixing and tweaking, and I still have to draw in some sort of, erm... doorstop to keep the fangirls from getting into his office. >U> Yeah, that's it. Doorstop. *shifty eyes*

I think the Buddy chibi is my favorite so far! I love the clean lineart and soft coloring. (Too bad that he only ever gets to pass the ball!) I also enjoy the picture of Olga and Ini because I think you got Olga's facial structure and expression down perfectly. <3

Took down one of the WIPs because it was pissing me off. I can't believe I made that abomination. =A= Anyway... In its place I updated one of WIPs rotting in the list instead of doing homework like a good productive student. Yaaaay... 8D
I was going to add colors, but unfortunately for me it's 1am and I have class in about six hours so I had to stop here. Will probably work on it tomorrow if I don't conveniently forget about it. >u>

Here you have Sean v2. Not much changed from the original, really; just had a change of pants and colors. Flat colors. Didn't bother to do the shading. Won't even bother uploading it to dA. That's how unhappy I am with this piece. It's not because I'm lazy, pffff where'd you get that idea?

Okay, so maybe it's a little of both. BUT MOVING ON.
I was meaning to participate in the OC contest this year, but I backed out. This was how far I got to working on this piece before I realized it just wasn't up to par. As much as I love my dear Sean, I just can't help but think she's... incomplete. She feels far too plain, far too dull in comparison to the characters of the Ace Attorney universe. She doesn't strike me as the kind of character that would make a lasting impression.
I know you can't rush design, and I might just not have gotten that eureka moment yet, but I also can't discount the fact that I might be focusing too much on one aspect of her identity--the military. And then it struck me: what else IS there to focus on? Apart from her military background, love for firearms, and hot temper there wasn't anything else I could draw inspiration from. I guess that would be enough to mold a fairly decent character, but the way things are looking now, it's just not cutting it for me.
So I'm contemplating giving Sean a make-over. *can practically hear the trigger clicking hurr* '|D I already have a few ideas floating around in my head, though I fear they might be a little too... eccentric? Out of place? Then again, that's what gives most Ace Attorney characters their charm.
She probably won't be the Sean I (we?) used to know after all this, but ah well... that's character development for you. I hope I won't have to change her too much... or at all.

I think I may have had a breakthrough a day or two ago. At the very least it looks better than the latest version. I want to post the WIP, but I'm afraid I'd be tempted not to finish it if I did so I'll just keep it to myself for now. ;3; I'll get to it as soon as I'm able, though; the draft's looking pretty good.

The balance between originality (how much crazy you can inject before it starts looking ridiculous lol) and coherence is something the Ace Attorney series showcases very well, I think, so I want to build my character up with those standards.
