Actually, (except for the embroidery), that hat looks a lot like the one I ordered o.o
(I really think it's a ski cap, not a beanie... ski caps have that fold up, but beanies don't. At least, that's what it was like on the websites I looked at)

a single lock would probably make quite a dramatic impression =3 especially on a black shirt (to stay true to the games) maybe with the words, "I've got a secret..." or something under it? Or on the back. Even without the words, it's be pretty cool, and a little more authentic, I think.

I could make the shirt any colour the customer wants (everything I sell is made-to-order. I don't pre-make anything at all), but I defintely think a black background would be the most effective, and closer to the in-game locks. I can make the lock fairly large (about 12 inches across maximum).
I can play a bit with the chain effects, but I don't really think I'll be able to put chains all around the shirt. It's possible, but the machines we use to do it can only sew a chunk of shirt at a time, so to get chains all around we'd have to move the shirt several times (which is just a terrible process
), and it would take MAD amounts of material. As you might have guessed, this would make the shirt quite expensive. =/
