NOW I DED FROM CON. Oh my god my legs are borked TO. THE. MAX. and I have enormous blisters but god was it worth it. I COMMISSIONED THREE LUKE X RICHARD PICTURES. I should scan them to show y'all, but one is porn so idk.

More people recognized me as Ron ; ; And while I am not surprised at this, it makes me sad at the fandom >:C Some people at the con actually thought I was PHOENIX when I was in my Richard cosplay. I was like UM why are you retarded D: BECAUSE PHOENIX HAS BIG BLACK CUFFS AND A BLONDE STREAK AMIRITE

According to Jaws, there was a Luke cosplayer on Friday and that makes me SAD because I was Richard that day and I didn't see him/her and I wanted to raep ; ;

Though there was an awesome moment. One of my friends from the interwebs was like 'OMG I KNOW YOU. You're Richard Wellington!' and I was like 'lol yes 8D' and she was like 'I know cause I have a friend who's obsessed with him!' and I was like orly? Cause I love finding other Richard fans. And I was like 'What's his or her name?' and she was like 'idk her real name, but I know everyone calls her Oos.' And I lol'd. She felt bad after, but hey. *shrug* I understand perfectly. XD;

THERE WAS AN OLGA ORLY. I need to upload all my pictures ASAP but I'll probably do it tomorrow because I am a lazy fuck and I won't be able to walk tomorrow anyway 8D

ORLY? YA RLY, apparently...*Grin*

My god, I MUST see the hoisting picture. I loved that.

I second all the comments 'bout the court case. D: Our first judge was kind of (psh) a jackass.

I heard that there was a musical Phoenix Wright skit during the Masquerade... which I couldn't be bothered to wait in line for.

I R GLAMERUS FOP HAR HAR HAR HAR

But srsly, I cannot tell you how many things went wrong in my cosplay. But it did turn out surprisingly well, and I guess I am proud to be the only Klavi there.

I wish I had a camera so I could have taken more pictures, but I at least have the memories.

Um...but if you DID take pictures, me wants, so yeah, gimme.

I got SO sick on the last day, and am recovering now, so I'm going to rest for a bit if I can. I am in so much pain and no pills are helping. Leather pants have destroyed my soul, and I'll be damned if I don't find a hair glue that WORKS.

Would I do it all again though?

Ugh, I can't go next year unless I plan on failing finals... Since AB is the weekend before. Madness I tell you!

I think I have a picture of Klavier. But it's on my friend's camera. So I guess I don't really have a picture of you.

I was so worried about you that last day. Seriously. I was like "OH SHIT, JAWS IS DYING. HE NEEDS R&R NAO. ;_____;"

Geez, though. You sound like how I was after Katsucon, though. I think I was in bed with my fever all day after Katsucon.

I... still feel awful about a lot of things that happened. I don't know who I'm more disappointed in, the people running Anime Boston or myself. ... (No, it's totally the people running Anime Boston. Many people need to be severely punished for that line problem alone.)

I really hope you feel better soon, Jaws.

First off, you were very cute as Wellington and Ron.

Second, with your link came the birth of a new crossplaying territory: He-Misty! It burns, but that is what Crossplay of that caliber is supposed to do.

Hello hello! < 3

I know a few of you from Anime Boston...(Pie, Jaws ;3) and came to the decisive conclusion that this was the best place to share photos. So zvarri! I was the glasses-wearing Miles Edgeworth running around with a Phoenix on Friday and Saturday, only to morph into a very tired Turner Grey on Sunday.

Phoenix has about a million more photos from the con than I do thanks to my horrid camera from eons ago. But I DO have some lovely shots...and I'll keep pressing my Wright as to if he'd prefer if I upload his images or he do so himself.

The best part of this con was ABSOLUTELY the people I met. Much love to you all! And ;_; I saw you, amazing Richard Wellington, but we didn't get pictures! I do believe we gave you lots of props on the awesome of your costume, however. ;3

And oh my god oh my god you've brought the lawyer sandwich pic EEEEEE 8D

Honestly, you and your Phoenix were so awesome and so much fun to just hang around with. And just hanging out with you guys made up for some of the problems the conventions had this year.

Oh man... the shots of Jaws in the light as Klavier... those are fantastic. And you got such an amazing angle shot on my D-cups of Justice.

I'm happy now! 8D

:mia: D'aw, shucks~

So I know people have been hearing about the line, but just for the benefit of those who haven't heard just how epic its fail was...

The average wait in pre-reg on Friday was five hours, I think. The highest length I heard was ten and a half.

On top of that, security was horrible when it came to how they treated the people who had been in line for five hours already. If people left their spot, they could not return and would have to go to the end.

This included a mother whose... seven year old son, I think it was, had run off. She was not allowed to leave line to go find him.

This also included a diabetic whose blood sugar level was 40 and who was risking hospitalization. Not only was this person not allowed to leave line, they didn't even, say, send a volunteer to get them emergency food.

That's just awful...
Then again, when I attended this con security was just as bad.
When you're already against the wall, HOW MUCH CLOSER TO IT CAN YOU GET?? I mean honestly.
There's a fine line between asserting your authority, and ABUSING it. And it seems the security staff at AB is not above abusing it.

First off, you were all great.

Second, the pics in front of that window seemed to throw off the lighting, unnecessarily exaggerating Ms. Pie's D-Cups filled with Justice while everyone else in the same pics were kinda in the shade and hard to see... Oh well! Better luck with the camera next con!

Also, I hope to see you all at Anime Boston '09! I hope that, after Portcon Maine '08 and several months of storage that my Gant outfit won't suffer too badly... If it does, I plan to have a Redd White/Will Powers outfit waiting in the wings (which i will be designing after Portcon Maine as I am having a hard time with the Gant outfit as it is).

The people totally made up for the con itself. Seriously, I normally love to go to the Dating Game, Masquerade, and Cosplay Chess... this year, I only stopped in the chess (to learn that it failed) and otherwise spent most of the time with Jaws or other Phoenix Wright cosplayers. And for the most part, that was awesome.

We need to find up if there's more cons or other things we can meet up at!

It'll be my second con. I probably won't cosplay, because I can't think of anyone other than Mia to cosplay. And my hair's too short for her.

I COULD do Trucy, but God knows I'll look horrible as her XD

All right. I sent an e-mail to the person who ran the court case, and I think there's gonna be improvements by the time it runs again.

I was thinking about showing you some choice quotes, but at this point, I think everything he's written should be read. He's very polite, as you'll see, and I think after reading this I want to lend any assistance and support that I can to him. Obviously he wants to do this well and between the problems with Anime Boston and the fact that he's not getting as much support on this as he'd like, it was difficult to avoid the chaos this year.

Spoiler: Email from the head of the panel
Hello,

Thank you for sending the feedback along, I don't mind
getting it as I know there were issues. First of all
let me apologize in general for the way things went
and then I'll respond point by point. I took full
responsibility for the disorganization though there
was also two additional factors with the fact they let
us into the room late and that the microphones were
not working properly. That being said, if I had had
better organization in place maybe some of the issues
would not have come up so I apologize. I will be
working to improve everything I can but the more
feedback I have the better.

I am very sorry that someone demanded to do all the
talking. In the past cases the groups of people have
generally been able to share and work it out. This is
the first time I am aware of that occurring. Generally
the people helping me and I try to stay close to the
groups so we can hear if there are any issues, but
somehow it didn't work this time. I didn't know about
the pushing either, if I had I would have asked the
people to leave as there is no room for that.

You raise a good point about the judge. Every year
even though I want to keep the roles open I do ask on
every forum I can find if people are interested, and
no one can ever commit to anything. I would absolutely
love to have the judges in place beforehand and be
able to outline for them what they need to do so that
exactly what you're saying can happen. You are right
though, the Judge needs to take more control of time
and the participants, though I also need to make sure
that the sound works so that people can be heard as
that made a tough situation worse.

The issue of who participates is a tricky one. I don't
like voting at all because of the fact that some
people get no votes and that just sucks for them. I
ran a vote because we were behind schedule. I do
agree with you there were too many people up there.
Last year strangely we had the same amount and it went
at least as far as I know very very well, but this
year chaos ensued, that was the reason I allowed so
many. Now even if I wanted to do a voting scheme, the
issue is time. If prep time goes too long people will
lose interest. If the con gives me two hours next
year, problem solved, but I need to figure out how to
get characters in place quickly. But I'll admit to
you I don't know how to solve this problem yet. I've
been thinking about it and talking with other people
since saturday and I still haven't solved it. I do
agree though it's an issue. Actually also in terms of
voting, give that the room was so big, a lot of the
votes were close to each other so another problem that
may be run into is that if we have say 3 lawyer spots
and 4 or 5 people get the same amount of votes, but
I'll keep looking at it.

Also as for letting a lot participate, part of the
reason I've let that happen is that the court case is
meant to be an alternative to the cosplay events where
people have to sign up in advance, get judged, et
ceter a, et cetera, and maybe not into the event at
all. But of course at this con I ran into the problem
of what happens when so many people take me up on the
offer. And as you pointed out this messed up others
who were also trying to participate so it's a problem,
and I'll just have to keep at it.

The first trial did go too long you're right, though
we started late, and we didn't get any flexibility in
time at the end, but then again still I could have
come up with something. As for the mistrial, the only
thing was I wasn't sure at that point the first case
had gone on long enough, but if i had known we weren't
going to finish in time I would have also tried to end
it then.

I apologized to everyone who had been waiting, which
can only do so much I know, but I am sorry about that,
and I agree, it looked like there was some good people
involved who didn't get a chance. If the event had
not been so chaotic what I would have actually tried
to do is give the ace attorney's their own case or a
case in which they were on one side and others were on
another and that would have allowed the full effect,
(since there's been a lot of demand for it.)

I'm sure the internet guy gets a lot of boots to the
head.

Once again though I am really very sorry especially
about the pushing on the prosecution side, I do
remember you guys who were talking were doing a fine
job of laying out a case and if others had a problem
with that they have no place in the event. If I had
seen it and I apologize for missing it, I would have
stopped it.

You are correct firmer control is needed especially at
AB, already in mind is the following.

1.) Fewer lawyers no matter what. We can use more
baliffs standing below the platform so they're not in
the way.
2.) Making 12 cosplayers the jury and seperating into
a row of seats so they can participate, but not fight
over microphones.
3.) Giving every person interested a card with a
random number on it. If too many people want to get
involved, the numbers can determine who gets up on
stage.
4.) Continuing to attempt to preselect the judges.
5.) Having a panel organizer closer to the groups to
prevent what you described from happening again.
6.) Requesting 2 hours for the event.

Once again I am sorry so many bad things happened, but
I do appreciate you taking the time to make me aware
of some things I was not aware of and passing along
your very justified concerns. I will do all I can to
improve upon them, and wish I had figured out how to
do so as it was happening. If there are another
concerns, complaints, comments, questions et cetera,
you can always send them along. Thank you again for
taking the time to write.

I wish you all the best!

Dave "T.M. Chiba"

See? Very nice and very awesome. I don't know about the rest of you, but I think I'm going to be offering assistance (or at least support) to him in the future.

Heck, maybe with my cosplay, I could be a "defense aid" who could stand up there and help keep the lawyers in line. :mia:

Then all we'd need is someone to keep watch on the prosecutor side. Like Von Karma. With a taser.

Then don't hate me if I decide to take it over since I think he's full of fail. And even worse, I think his suit was an attempt to pass as Phoenix...

Squee found it.

I'm bummed that I didn't get to hang with people more, but I was so busy doing other things, that I failed miserably.

HOWEVER.

EVERYONE SHOULD GO TO PCM. That's my home con, and I'll be running an organized court case that you all are more than welcome to crash. <3

I won't hate you. I'd rather work with him rather than against him, though. On the average, working together gets more done than working against each other, no matter who it is.

But I can't blame you for taking a more militant approach. Because... well, you saw my angry rage ranting earlier. I've been ranting about it nearly nonstop since it happened. And there's so much that can be done to revamp it - no, not can, that must be done. :grey:

Wheeeee more pics have been found.

Jaws is a good pillow. Seriously. I love using people as pillows and he kept letting me so I'd be like *flop* on his shoulder.

And then for a very different change of mood...
