Speaking of spiritual powers, My best friend's grandfather was told he was gonna die and there was no helping him so I told him that I'll ask my mom to pray for him. After I told her to she did and not long after his grandfather was back on his feet and is still healthy and alive to this day. There are times when things like that make you start believing once again in faith and in God.

I was at my friend's and her boyfriend's place today (and got to meet my friend's younger sister for the first time) and they always make me feel so secure and cared for, which really is golden at any occasion, but especially right now since I've been feeling rather down lately.
And today I went home with two Ramones-CDs and two DVDs (The last temptation of Christ and The fall of the house of Usher) because their friend gave some stuff away and they came to think of me when they saw those records and movies, which I felt was a really sweet gesture.

One of the ladies working with supporting housing at my place was going to go for vacation for a few weeks, she gave me a hug and said "now, remember that you're amazing". Almost brought a tear to my eye. I really needed that. :acro:

Can I just say that I am really thankful for the friends I have been making in my college lately? My college has an awesome way for us to meet potential roommates, classmates, and other incoming freshmen through Facebook. I met a few people there who are really into Marvel/DC comic books, and we're organizing this comic book club that'll start meeting at the beginning of the semester. So excited!

It's always awesome when you meet people who have the same interests as you. And you never know, someone might be really into Ace Attorney as well!

Haven't found any big Ace Attorney fans yet, but I am at least using the opportunity to introduce more people to the series. It'll be a nice little way of saying "Thank you" to my one friend I met from the college who introduced me to Breaking Bad.

Today, I decided to search the translation of the lyrics of one of my favorite song of all time! It's about drug abuse, powerlessness and guilt, BUT what make me laugh/happy is when I remembered how this song entertained me so much as a kid, even if I didn't understand nothing about what was being said. Because the rythm and the music is just so damn good. But! There is still a part that I still did not understood because it's in a foreing language, according to wikipedia it's called Wolof or something like that. It's reading like this:

Balma balma sama wadji
Khadjalama yonwi
Djeguelma djeguelma sama wadji
Khadjalama yonwi
Sama wadji khadjalama yonwi

Ma woloula Dédé woloula
Ma woloula Dédé woloula
Mike woloula yow mi waniwo
Mike woloula yow mi waniwo...

The rest of the song is in canadian french, my mother language, but this part got me intrigued and decided to search. After a dozen of sites I finally found out the meaning and it just make me happy that I understand this song completly now.

If someone know a litteral translation it would be great because the one I found was an approximative one.

I'm thankful for my adorable little brother.

I took him out to swim today so he was pretty tired when we got back. He was sad that Dad was asleep (from being on night shift) but I had to leave to see friends. Later on I found out he'd climbed into bed with Dad and dozed off for like 6 hours or so. He woke up and saw the sun was going down and was said "Too soon! Sun's gone too quick!" In shock.

He seemed to think he'd slept through till the next day and that the day was somehow shorter XD but he's an adorable wee lad.

I also got to play games with my friends for the first time in what feels like forever. That's the problem with being stuck in a roleplay it's a big time commitment.

The new roleplay might only be 5 players and my GM might have to cut down from 8. Doing the maths (and knowing the GM's preferences) it might be likely I'll be dropped while my two good friends who attend will get in so I'm thankful for the time we do have together.

Ah, I know what you mean. I've got the best little brother in the whole world!

He's so kind and generous. I said I was hungry, so he made me something to eat just now, looking really happy to be doing it as well. He also often gives me hugs and tells me I'm the best big sister. :edgey:

He's also really good at video games. :godot:

Can emotional support animals count as something to be thankful for? I mean, sure, my cat's a tsundere little punk sometimes, but she's definitely been an adorable cuddle buddy/stress release when I really needed it. A fuzzy blanket and some 'treaty treats' help though~ :sillytrucy:

I went to the emergency psychiatry-thingie (I've been there quite a few times) but today I felt so... welcome. A nurse was really sweet to me and we talked a lot and she actually managed to calm me down to the point that we could joke around when I waited for the doctor.
There was this really loud and obnoxious couple in the waiting room screaming about they "HAD TO GET UP EARLY IN THE MORNING HOW LONG WILL THIS TAKE" and the nurse was all; "Well, we have one doctor on duty, and as you can see there's only one person except for the two of you here (moi) - and that person is here for a reason just like the two of you, and since this patient came before the two of you, this patient is top priority. Did you know that a patients sitting quiet in a corner is in as much need for help as you are... or more." I love how she actually stood up for me (and managed to do it just in time before I lost my temper and shouted SHUT THE HELL UP ALREADY, which I was on the edge of doing), beside being a really sweet and funny old lady.
And she gave me sandwiches and milk because I looked hungry. :acro:

I'm really thankful for my friends, ALL of my friends for being the best and supportive while I'm doing through parental problems, I really couldn't ask for anything more, and I'm thankful for this very forum for accepting me with open arms (I might have said this already but I think it's worth saying again) :hobolaugh: Couldn't ask for a better forum to go on.

Even in the bleakest of times, we have little rays of hope. Today, I name that ray of hope Highway Patrol Captain Ronald Johnson.

http://online.wsj.com/articles/even-kee ... 1408059802

He has taken over the charge of handling protests, and has even JOINED the protests after taking charge. He has personally kept in touch with protest people, even going so far as to escort them (again, personally) to his press conference so they could hear what was being said and field their own questions. Seriously, read that article, the main needs like... several medals for what he's doing here. This situation is FAR from over, and this is just the beginning of a long discussion about race and privilege in this country. But at least someone willing to deal with things in a mature, productive manner.

You should never be afraid to necro this topic.

I'm thankful for my girlfriend.

Just back from our holiday in Rome...even if the last day was kinda cancelled because she was too ill to leave the room we still had a wonderful time. Bought out the movie package from the hotel and just cuddled up and watched stuff all day. We talked more about moving in and her getting a job up here. I might not have much going for me but I look at my love life and think "that's doing ok" and it makes things feel good again.

It ain't much, but I thought I'd share.

So, our family went to eat at Taco Bell Wednesday night. My dad and I got the box meal. Right now, Sony is running a PS4 contest and you get a code to enter if you order a box. Well, when we brought the food home, I went to enter my code on my box and got a message that it had already been used. Tried my dad's, same thing. So I went and e-mailed Taco Bell. I didn't expect anything, but I thought they should know because I suspected that workers were probably entering codes before selling the boxes.

Well today, I got a call from the local manager at the Taco Bell here. They said I could come in at anytime and get 4 boxes for the codes. I know it ain't much and I doubt I'll win anything, but the fact that they even got back with me and offering me something because I kinda got ripped off just kinda made my day. Restored my faith in humanity, just a bit. So yeah, it was a nice thing.

Though I am kinda jealous that my friend in Houston actually won a gold PS4. Small world. XD

Tinykittens managed to find their feral, Tiberius, and get the jar off him. Despite it having been three days.

And they managed to save feral mom Skye and all four of her kittens, due to an emergency C-Section on her.

I'm just so happy to hear that both worked out well and nobody really came to harm. And it happened in the same day!

So, I was browsing YouTube a while ago and I saw this video with one of my favorite voice actors in it, and he came across these "christian" protesters at a convention, and they had these "fire and brimstone" messages on their signs. I'm Christian, and these pickets piss me off, so I can't imagine it does a lot of good when you're supposedly trying to reach non-Christians. Anyway, the voice actor decided to have a polite talk with them...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LVt81yaqv4s

A little while later, he responded to the video...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MeaI-eTcxI

It's the only time I've ever seen the guy get mad, and given the circumstances, it was pretty cool. It was nice to see someone stand up to these phonies who give Christians like me a bad name.
