This year has taken away some of the world's best people! :sob:

Prince, David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Muhammed Ali, Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds, just to name a few! I really wish 2016 would hurry up and DIE before too many other people die! 2016 has been one awful year, and not just because of celebrity deaths!

This year is pretty shit, not just in terms of people having died, but of the events that have happened over the year - and, again, not just talking about the terrorist attacks. Yes, 2016 is a year that could, kindly, go fuck itself. 2008 was bad in personal terms, mostly for my mother. This year is just... crap.

We have riots, Donald Trump becoming President of the USA, really, really, REALLY windy days (at least around where I live), white policemen (and maybe women) ripping on black drivers, and more recently, a huge spate of drownings in Australia, which came with the massive heatwaves that I can say have been pretty savage (@$#^&*%! YOU, NOR-WESTERLY WINDS!!!).
So yeah, 2016 has been such a cruel, cursed year!
I have a theory... The wind was a sign of the curse...
I did write a FanFic where the wind was an effect of the curse.... Someone actually set up a Go-Fund-Me campaign to protect Betty White from 2016's curse! Why, 2016, why?

But I've gotta be grateful that it could have been worse... much worse...

I don't think she's well known outside of the UK, but I was very upset at the passing of British comedian, Victoria Wood. She seemed to really understand people, and never let fame go to her head.

It's so sad about the actress Debbie Reynolds dying one day after her daughter, Carrie Fisher. I won't be sad to see the back of 2016.

I found a list of deaths of famous people for 2016. By my count there were 155 on the list, not counting the author Pat Conroy or any deaths after Debbie Reynolds. Victoria Wood, however, was definitely on the list.

I have to say I'm actually quite happy for the both of them now, because they're probably together and inseparable. Debbie Reynolds must have lost the will to live. After all, a parent should never see their child die while they're still alive.

This year has been so tragic, with so many people dying. Hope 2017 is a better year...

I'm the only one here who would describe this year more as "dynamic" than as "shit"? Shit happened, but a lot of good, impactful stuff in pop culture, too. It was a legendary year (maybe the best of this decade) for music, for example.

EDIT: And as cold as it may sound, I don't see death as this terrible thing, necessarily. When someone who is over 70 or something dies, it is sad, but I don't see it as a tragedy. Even David Bowie's example. He was an amazing dude, maybe the most unique musician we had in decades, but I feel like he has pretty much lived a worthy life. I was sad when I heard about his death, but he was a man of certain age who already had accomplished tons of stuff. It is different when someone who is in their 20s or 30s dies from something totally unexpected (like, let's say, Amy Winehouse, who joined the 27 club in 2011).
