He just let go of Ace after the door shut or just collapsed from his wounds and fell out of our frame of view?

That reminds me, something else I thought was strange. In the Casino, I believe, when you look at the lights, Snake reacts very strangely to it but it's never addressed in the game again. Any idea what that's about?

Spoiler:
I guess, something like that. He was definitely still in there and was very much dead afterwards, that's all that's certain.
You mean when Junpei says something about light? Snake's actual name is Light, so it was just a little hinting/joke to see on a second playthrough.

Edit: That took its fair share of edits to get right. I hope nobody saw that spoiler that shouldn't have!
(......Ack! I've run out of snide comments!)

Don't forget to look at the official Q&A for 999! http://www.aksysgames.com/999/ (go to the Answers page)

Note that this wasn't updated at all after future games were released, so some things might contradict VLR (and maybe even ZTD). But many of these answers cover stuff that is isolated to 999.

Spoiler:
Snake missing in the safe ending is just an art error

And he reacts sadly at the glass windows I believe because it's implied he lost his sight through glass?

Finished this game. I liked it a lot. VERY complex. I had to read the faq for it all to make sense. Overall,Snake was my favourite character, and Lotus my least favourite. I guess I'll take a break till VLR because that experience has drained me.

Which version of the game did you play? Original DS or remake?

Also personally I liked Akane the most and my least favorite was...is it fair to compare the 9th man to the other characters?

Which big twist? There were a lot of those in the end of that game.

Yes,I played it on DS. The original. That meant no flowchart and the sprites looked compressed, but the end with the bottom screen....wow.

I actually liked the 9th man's design a lot. I wish he were there in the story more.

Eh they gave him some more significance later on.

And yes the end with the bottom screen is the twist I meant.

They do,I just wish
Spoiler: 999 Ending
that he were actually a player for a bit longer, since he was the only one of the nine people who died in the true ending.

Also I liked how Ace killed all his comrades, knowingly or unknowingly. What a jackass that guy was

And yes, that twist is the best.
