-Spammers. Wooster just addressed this in another topic, but I'll say it again: if you find a topic you believe to be spam, report it using the little exclamation mark at the bottom of the post. This alerts the post to the entire mod team, so it can be delt with quickly. Please do not respond to or provoke spammers.
-Assholes. If you believe a poster to be an asshole, please just report them. There are a lot of people on this forum with sharp and sarcastic senses of humor, and I urge you not to take things too seriously. But to those people who enjoy baiting and teasing others, I also urge you to tone it down. It's not as funny as you think it is, seriously. Please think of my PM box.
-Noobs. I know it's not easy sometimes to tell a noob from a spammer. Please don't try to make that determination on your own. It's one thing to point out to someone, "I think this is in the wrong section" or "I don't think this topic is appropriate" and to discourage rampant topic making, etc. But please don't try to "dicipline" noob behavior through flaming and teasing. We've had young kids join this forum, and while none of us want to read through "Phoenix Wright Anime: Thread #242142151262" bitching the little guys out doesn't really make anyone feel better in the end.
I know sometimes we're pretty lenient on these kinds of behaviors, but I think most of the people who have complained about that have benefitted from getting a second chance at some point. It's not that the mods aren't paying attention or aren't taking your report seriously. I'm on the forum several times a day, and I try to respond to everything brought to my attention. But just because someone doesn't get banned right away for some comment or behavior doesn't mean it's not adding up.
And this may seem like a random addition, but I might as well say it now: Do not dare me to ban you. If the words "Go ahead and ban me" appear on my screen, my next three clicks will be going towards removing you from this forum. Maybe it's just a peeve of mine, but I can't stand that! It's happened before and it'll happen again, I'm sure.
We all just want to have fun here. I WANT you to have fun here. So let's all Be Cool and do that, okay?
And speaking of being cool and having fun, Wooster and I are working on a Secret Event to take place for the America release of T&T come October. That's a long way away, but if our ideas pan out it should be a lot of fun that everyone can participate in, with prizes to be had! I hope you'll look forward to it.

A n00b is an annoying person. (usually with bad grammar and such, but not always...)
A spammer just spams for the heck of it.

Allow me to expand on that.
Newb = A new member who respects longer-standing board members, behaves in an appropriate manner, abides by the rules, and is willing to learn from their mistakes to act in a mature manner. Many of them aim to please and be constructive.
Noob = A new member who does not respect longer-standing board members, behaves in an inappropriate manner - trolling, spamming, flaming, baiting, etc. -, does not abide by the rules, and is not willing to learn from their mistakes. Many of them aim to harass, degrade, and just act like flat-out uppity assclowns with no regard to the wellfare of anyone save their own.
Spammer = A member whose sole purpose is to post repeatedly or create multiple topics about nothing in particular. These types of members do not act in a constructive manner and have almost to substance to their posts.

Yup, anybody who wants to flame can go to gamefaqs, because there's plenty of that going on over there, and always will be.
Just something I'd like to add: I'm not just saying this, but I've always found court records to be the most friendly forum with the most friendly group of people I've ever been on. Let's hope it stays that way, guys.

If a member sends you a PM that is blatant trolling/spammig/or just really offensive, please keep it in your inbox so that when you report the person, I can just sign into your account and see it for myself. I need proof to punish someone for their lameness.

Of course, I would never condone an admin altering anything in your profile without you having asked for it. I would only ever sign into someone else's account if the person asked me to do it, to verify some kind of misconduct. I haven't had to do so as of yet, because people have been very cooperative. But if I'm going to ban someone because of a PM they sent you, unless the person admits to it, I want to be able to see the message itself, not a cut & paste or a screenshot.
