Part of the appeal of the show is how easy it is to create image macros of. The rich character design is a great supplier of reaction faces and advice dog style memes.

I have to agree with this; their faces DO convey strong emotions, over the top reactions and such...I think i'm beginning to understand why it's so popular.

It seems like Pinkie and Fluttershy are the two that get the most macros.
And of course there's all of the videos that have been made
.With the other MLP shows it was all about promoting the toy (especially with the G3's), which led to crappy, girly storylines. Thanks to Lauren this one does more than just promote toys, and has storylines that appeal to both genders (much to the suprise of Hasbro). Not to mention the references to other shows like Benny Hill and Sesame Street that for the most part only older people would get.
I think she kept the franchise from finally dying out.

As for my favorite pony, I guess that would be Fluttershy, followed by Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Apple Jack, Twilight Sparkle, and Pinkie Pie.

Another reason the show became so popular is because Hasbro's cool with the full episodes being on the internet, making it easily accessible on Youtube and other video-sharing websites. Most likely you won't see a My Little Pony video taken down due to copyright issues (unless some troll pretends to be Hasbro). The reason is because they know the real money's in the toys and not the show anyway. Also because it's free advertising for their new TV channel that's too much of a bother to get.

That wasn't Hasbro, it was trolls (most of his subscribers were gamers, and some got pissed when he started uploading MLP vid's). They did it to him twice (in both cases it was on the day a new episode was released). He successfully counter claimed both times. If it had been Hasbro he'd still be suspended. Plus the first time it was by "Hasbro Inc.", the second time they just used "Hasbro". Not to mention at the same time 3 other people had the full length episodes up, and wern't even bothered.

I'm still really curious about this brony phenomenon, since being a girl, I can't really say for sure why this show appeals to guys to the extent that it has. Nothing wrong with it, I just did not expect it. At all. XD
