Well, Turnabout of Justice, you seem to be the first person to hate such an intense and thrilling cliffhanger. I don't see how
Spoiler:
killing off characters instantly makes an episode suckish - especially in the interesting context it was done in. Fans love killing sprees! And the possibility that their favourite character could be pushing up daisies! If you think the death of a major/recurring character makes an episode instantly suck, God knows what you think of the Daleks' Master Plan, the Tenth Planet, the War Games, Planet of the Spiders, Logopolis, Earthshock, the Caves of Androzani, Mindwarp (...sort of), Time and the Rani, the TV Movie, Parting of the Ways, Doomsday (...sort of), Forest of the Dead, Journey's End (s-o-r-t-o-f), the Waters of Mars, the End of Time, Cold Blood, and every bloody Torchwood Finale.

I absolutely loved "The Big Bang". The only thing that really bugs me is
Spoiler:
the fact that very little was given as to actually explaining why the TARDIS was exploding. I don't mind a multi-season arc, but there wasn't ANYTHING new in terms of clues (unless I'm just forgetting). It was just like "lol, guess we gotta go find out"

Yup, Pandorica Opens and Big Bang were both absolutely brilliant - some really exciting, different stuff for the finales this year. I loved the explosive emotional high budget RTD finales, but I think it was time for something different this year and the Grand Moff pulled it off with style.

TARDIS, the 3rd Doctor Who Adventure Game, was fun, but far too short.

Hope the final episode is longer and funner.

Doctor Who...

I watch it sometimes, but since they don't seem to air it here anymore, I have to watch it on the BBC...

So that means it's English without subtitles, and that means everyone in the room should be completely silent so I can clearely hear what people say...

Otherwise, I might go like " :zenitora: AAARGH SHUTUP IM WATCHING DOCTOR WHO DAMMIT SO YA NEED TO BE FUCKING SILENT :zennybw: "

...

I'm quite happy about the split! Like The Moff said, it means two finales and two premieres. Annoying, yes, but only in the same sense that Pandorica Opens was annoying. I'm looking forward to the plot twist and I'm happy that Doctor Who will be spread out over the year, rather than us just getting a three month Dr Who hit and then not having it for ages.

I think the split is a good idea. That means we'll be getting an Easter special too, and the show getting an Autumn slot, thus being closer to the Christmas special, etc. Hopefully, the cliffhanger will be good enough and not have a lousy resolution this time- *shot* xD

Oh, and did anyone see the Doctor Who Proms? There's an extended one tomorrow on BBC 3, tomorrow at 7pm. :D

Did you hear? Moffat gave in to the complaints about the new Daleks:
Moffat, (abridged) statement from the new book 'The Brilliant Book of Doctor Who' wrote:
The fact is, we're not going to lose the old Daleks [RTD era design]. We're keeping them. They're coming back, with different ranks. All I've done [with the new ones] is given the Daleks officer classes.

Funny thing is, even though I'm sure he's doing this to pacify people's complaints, all it's done so far has created more complaints.

This thread is alive! Well, maybe not for long, but who cares ... *watches trailer*

Wait, is this Scrooge guy Dumbledore?! o_o Some bits of the trailer look pretty cool, but I dunno, I think it could be better. Just seems like a lot of poorly lit scenes slapped together.

Is that Amy in her police uniform? Is Rory a centurion? What? *is curious*

I wish they'd given us a bit more. Or a bit less random randomness that makes my nose itch.

Meh, the Christmas Carol idea is pretty cool...I think I'll enjoy the actual episode.

Wait, why am I complaining about the trailer?

I do hope there's some sort of witty reference to the time when he met Dickens. How could there not be? And Doctor Who Christmas specials... well, let's just say they're such a tradition that whenever people are counting down to Christmas, I'm wondering which aliens will invade Earth each year!

Well, the first half of series 6 has come and gone during the downtime, and now Torchwood's up to bat; it looks like Miracle Day will just about fill the gap between now and the latter half of series 6.

Anyone else been watching it/will watch it when it airs in the UK?

That'd be me! I honestly can't wait; it's Thursday, right? Let's Kill Hitler's bound to be...interesting, to say the least. And yeah, until then we'll be preoccupied with Miracle Day. And NEXT YEAR! The series will drag on into 2013! If Jack and some others don't return for the 50th Anniversary Epic I will actually thwack someone. Hard. Over the head. Probably my brother. God help him. Actually don't - that would defeat the purpose, wouldn't it..?

is getting killed just getting silly? I know Moffat's a sadistic troll at the Beas of times, but now it's just "Oh, SPOILER's dead, must be Saturday."

It might just be me. Also, series six has been good so far. Mark Shepperd was even in it!! (Canton).

Also also, has anyone watched Sherlock? Moffat wrote it with Mark Gatiss, and it's very good~ three guesses on what it's about.

Yes, I believe the first episode of Miracle Day is airing Thursday in Britain. Since it's being co-produced by Starz, it aired on Friday here in the States. I thought it was pretty good; definitely a bit of actionization, but that was expected. They still managed to slip in some references to past seasons. And unless my memory's playing tricks on me, the British airing is supposed to have a few small extra scenes that aren't in the American version (presumably to do with past seasons.)
