You have all been chosen. Now, you need to seek a way out.
Spoiler: Old Rules
I see that you’ve all already been given a numbered bracelet. Feel free to share that with your fellow cellmates as you get to know each other. For now, let me tell all of you what your colored bracelet assignments for Round 1 are:

Red Pair-Slezak
Red Pair-BadPlayer
Red Solo-Franzise Deauxnim
Blue Pair-Lida_Rose
Blue Pair-Rov
Blue Solo-cesar26100
Green Pair-Pierre
Green Pair-shameninja
Green Solo-Nego

Here are the rules to your game: right now, there are three chromatic doors in front of you—a magenta one, a yellow one, and a cyan one. These doors will not open if an incorrect colored team attempts to. Teams have to be made up of three people and pairs of the same color cannot go through separate doors. In other words, a pair has to go with a solo.

If you refuse to go through the doors, a needle in your bracelet will pop into your skin, inject a poison, and kill you.

To ensure nobody gets left behind, you all have three options for teams. To decide, what team you want, VOTE just as you would with any other mafia game. (For example VOTE: OPTION A)

Option A:
Slezak and BadPlayer pair up with cesar26100 and go through the magenta door.
Lida_Rose and Rov pair up with Nego and go through the cyan door.
Pierre and and ShameNinja pair up with Franzise Deauxnim and go through the yellow door.

Option B:
Slezak and BadPlayer pair up with Nego and go through the yellow door.
Lida_Rose and Rov pair up Franzise Deauxnim and go through the magenta door.
Pierre and ShameNinja pair up with cesar26100 and go through the cyan door.

Option C (complementary):
Slezak and BadPlayer pair up with Franzise Deauxnim and go through the cyan door.
Lida_Rose and Rov pair up with cesar26100 and go through the yellow door.
Pierre and ShameNinja pair up with Nego and go through the magenta door.

The other door in this room is the Number 9 door. This door is your only way of escaping. To open it, you need 9 BP. However, the door only opens once. If you choose to open it, anybody else who has 9 or more BP will also “win.” Be careful, though. If Zero has 9 BP when that happens, Zero wins; the rest of you lose.

To get BP, you play the AB Game. The AB Game can be found further behind the chromatic doors. Right now, everyone has 3 BP.

The phase ends in 24 hours, 4 PM EST.

Enjoy the game. Have a nice traitor!

Numbered bracelet assignments:
[1] - Franzise Deauxnim
[2] - Pierre
[3] - Nego
[4] - Bad Player
[5] - Slezak
[6] - ShameNinja
[7] - Rov
[8] - cesar26100
[9] - Lida_Rose

Current colored bracelet assignments:

Magenta Pair-Slezak
Magenta Pair-Franzise
Red Solo-BadPlayer
Yellow Pair-Rov
Yellow Pair-ShameNinja
Green Solo-Lida
Cyan Pair-Pierre
Cyan Pair-Cesar
Blue Solo-Nego

Sup folks. You can call me Ace. on second thought please don't

Before anything else, ally or betray? I think everyone agreeing on the same vote is the safest option at least for now. I'd prefer betray this time but I'll go with the majority.

Oh,so it finally started.

I don't really know if it would be a good idea to vote what everyone else says, mainly because at this point we don't really who we should trust or not.And you didn't really explain why you would choose betray.

Hey, look, I got bracelet #5! [s]I guess that makes me Jumpy[/s]

Just keep calling me Slezak. Good luck to all (except Zero, of course.)

I'll be back later. IRL class is calling.
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.

That in some Asian countries...

[4] is considered a number symbolizing death? :viola:

Well, I think the idea is that we don't want innocent people to get screwed over, or bad people (Zero) to get ahead in BP. I think ideally, it'd be nice/fine if we could all just Ally, but it's much 'safer' for everyone to do Betray. If everybody is doing Betray, then nobody has any reason to go against the plan and choose Ally. Nobody will gain BP, but nobody will lose it either--it'll maintain the status quo, for now.

Also, VOTE: OPTION C. No big reason. Oldies gotta stick together~

Hi. I'm number 3. Pleased to meet you.

I would really like to go with option C because magenta is my favourite colour.

Also, just a friendly notion: I will be absent pretty much all of tomorrow. I have informed JM of this and told him my reasoning. I wish to not say it here because it's personal.

Simple: it's because we don't know who to trust yet. We don't want Zero getting a point lead. If everyone agrees to vote the same way, that shouldn't happen, and if it does, the ones who voted differently would be under suspicion.

I suggested betray for the first round because if we agreed to ally and someone betrays, that would put them at 6 and their opponent(s) at 1. It shouldn't be enough to win, but we don't know what kinds of powers might be in this game, either.

Oh well,in that case I guess it would make sense. After all,if everyone choose ally then zero would only need to betray and make their opponent ally to win.

Oh,and my number is eight. My character would be lotus, but since I am,y'know,a male you can just call me cesar.

And since two people already voted for it:

Vote: Option C

Second Post:Also I just noticed that I will only be able to play this phase today since I don't get home form school until just before the phase ends.

I'm number 9, the best number ever! What, what?

*Ahem*

All joking aside, I am in favor of the vote to betray plan. Obviously, we can't do that every round, but for this first round, I think it's a good place to start.

Seems Option C is favored. Very well, then.

Vote: Option C

Sure I'm number 2. Just call me "Duo" *tips ringmaster hat*

In any case I'm fine with Option C because if Nego is completely absent as he's stated he's an easy mark Nego is a great teammate.
VOTE: OPTION C

Though I wonder is betraying everyone at the start really that wise a call?
Sure it works for this round but in the sense that nothing else ever happens. We just stay stuck here and have to play another round without any new information. I say folks Ally, it's not like holding out will get much more information after all. We can see how things roll after the vote.

Well well, looks like everyone's accounted for. Glad nobody held out (for long, anyway, haha.)

Anyway, guess I'll go with the group and...
Vote: Option C

And I wonder if BETRAYAAAAAL! :megaphone: really is the best option... It's sort of like a no-lynch Day 1, but at the same time it'll get us through the first set of doors and to new horizons, so I agree to do it I suppose.

Betraying will not really help "advance" the game, but its the safest way to try to get more info about the players without much risk.

There's also the possibility of special roles and "gifts", which our gracious host previously mentioned. Any of those could easily turn the game on its head.

Like I said, I'll go with what the group wants to do, but I really think everyone choosing Betray on the first round is the best option unless something major comes up. There's a much lower risk of someone being pushed to 1 BP, which would put them in a terrible position. Despite the name, this isn't like a normal game of Mafia; there's no "well, I died, but the town won, so I won with them." The goal of this game is to survive and escape, so if you die, that's it, you lost.

Indeed.

Also, what if, instead of "Ally" and "Betray", our host tells us to push the left or right button without telling us which does which?

That would certainly be a tricky way to mess with the "always betray and never get anywhere" gambit.

That's certainly possible, though I think it's unlikely, since we won't get anywhere unless we choose to Ally at some point. I just don't think it's the best choice right out of the gate.

No, the rules for the AB Game in VLR are the same as here.

-edit- Also, my bracelet number is 1, but I start with 3 BP like everyone else.

If both people Betray, there's no change in BP.

If one person Betrays and another Allies, the person who betrayed gets 3 BP and the person who allied loses 2 BP. Since everyone has 3 BP, that'd leave the person with 1 BP.

I'm basically in the same boat as Franzy. May as well keep everything the same, at least for the first round when we really don't know what's going on or what to expect. I'm willing to Ally instead if everyone wants, but having everyone Betray just seems safer.

EDIT: Yes, your bracelet number is totally distinct from your BP; right now everyone has 3 BP.

So how is VLR temporally related to 999? Is it a sequel, just a spin-off, or what? This game is genuinely getting me interested in the lore.

what's gonna happen is we'll run out of doors to open/ambidex games to play and we'll all still be stuck with 3bp so nobody will get to escape

I don't think that will be a problem. (At the very least, it wasn't in VLR.)
