so why was the name "pigeon" chosen anyway. was it really the "homing pigeon" thing someone mentioned once?
(also, in my headcanon, it was "oliver two-ist")

(lol. I wonder if yon was supposed to be a pretty normal non-murdering character overall and just the way he played out made him seem super sinister.)

Pigeon has the same kanji as "9"

Actually, my win conditions were like this:

I was given two win condition choices.
-I could tell the truth about the crime to a player and escape with the player, ensuring the player is alive by the time we escaped.
-I could not tell the truth. BUT if the player finds out I was withholding the truth from them, I lose.

Can you guess which one I went with?

Man I go off and plan my big fake death gambit and y'all all escape without me.

(Which is totally for the better)
Questions:
So Oliver why did you murder Sergei? Also why plant the knife back on me? Just to make me look like a liar? Its also really not that bad guys how often do you go "gimme an inventory check?" :payne:
Pigeon why are you so OP? You knew so much you shouldn't xD.

Speaking of knowing things they shouldn't Saturn had an item that let him spy on QTs xP

Regarding whether the bomb was necessary or not it was there to put pressure on me.

I'd actually defused the bomb since the start of the game but if Zero ever clocked that I had I would be shut down. Of course the counter ticks down so its got to go on faith that people don't lynch.

The code I received from Pigeon actually let me fake my death and come back to life.

I was gonna hide in the lake with Saturn's stuff and show up later on after a good snoop.

You thought you could be safe in your courts, with your laws and attorneys to protect you. In this world only I am law, my word is fact, my power is absolute.

You knew through the connections that Sergei had that he could break you out of prison, but this wasn’t the case. You threatened to reveal his role in the affair if he didn’t free you but instead he hired a prison gang to kill you. He sent the message “I don’t need you anymore.” You narrowly survived, and ultimately decided that you needed to find a way to escape on your own.

You did. Now, years later, you’re here. Kidnapped by some madman. Given the opportunity to get your revenge on the man you loathed.

The affair mentioned was the theft of the Red Diamond. That's why I killed him.
And I planted the knife on you because I was tired at the time in real life and didn't know what to do.

(Please move to the post-game thread)

Spoiler: Some Answers
-Oliver killed Sergei
-Saturn killed Charlie Ridley eighteen years ago, as well as Alex 12 years ago
-Sergei is Zero from the first two Nonary Games (run by me and Franzise respectively). Luna is Franzise's character from the first game
-The bomb wasn't defused. It was never active in the first place. Seven defused it at the beginning of the game. Even Zero didn't know
-Pigeon's only power in the game was the pigeonholes (beyond the door pigeonholes, he saw the name "Blaire" when looking at a code and saw that Franzise could help Yon regain his memory. That's it). He lied about the anti-pickpocketing power (which was an actual power in the game) and lied about any other moments of intuition that he had. He did also have the power to make a qt once every ROUND
-Maggie Lizer is a reference to a blind defense attorney in AD
-Leo killed Saturn
-Pigeon killed Doctor
-Seven "killed" herself

Luna, Triton, Yon, Leo, and Pigeon all stood in front of the massive metallic door. They had already verified their hands on the RED and now it seemed that the door was slowly opening, the light of outside flooding in the casino.

"I-Is it really ok? To leave things like this, I mean."

"We have to." Pigeon said. "I-I...no, we. We just need to keep walking. Walking towards the next chapter."

The five of them stepped through the door.

Spoiler: Luna END
It seems Zero hadn't provided a car for them to go home--just a long, eight mile journey to the nearest town. Gratefully, he did provide food and water for them.

The trip had been mostly silent until Leo spoke up. "So uh...Diana. What about your memories? Why did you...forget some things?"

"We are in timeline A right now. My mind is from timeline B, a timeline where the robbery never occurred."

Leo obviously had a few more questions but Luna wasn't much in the mood to give any answers. She kind of just ignored him and moved on. Eventually, the group all took a break. She sat to the side, where the Narrator appeared to her.

"So...what now?" The Narrator asked her, smiling. "No money, no husband...hell, the world thinks you're dead and anybody who knows you're alive will want you dead."

Diana didn't respond. She just kept staring off into the distance.

"Since you DID earn your happy ending...well, I'll give you your reward! Your mind will now go back to timeline B and-"

"No."

Now it was the Narrator who was silent. Diana continued.

"I don't forgot what happened here. I don't forgot the people who died and I don't want to forget the truths I learned about those I held dear to me." Diana fiddled with her ring.

"Hmph. I figured you'd say as much. Humans always make the stupid decisions."

"Sergei's been the one who has supported me all these years. He's the one I wanted by my side. I chose him and yet...learning all of this...I think it's for the best. I'm more terrified than I've ever been but I think I'm ready to finally be brave."

Diana walked away from the Narrator and returned to the group. Everybody was once again preparing to walk the rest of the way. "Diana, you coming?" Pigeon asked.

"L-Luna. My name is Luna." Luna grabbed her bag and walked forward.

Spoiler: Triton END
Triton was sitting down, eating some food on the brief break. Pigeon was nearby.

"Pigeon. I have a question for you."

Pigeon looked up with a mouthful of food and walked over to her.

"D-Did you kill Doctor? Christian, I mean."

Pigeon glanced towards the sky. "Yes. I did."

Triton looked down towards the ground, tears welling in her eyes. Pigeon spoke up again. "I'm sorry. I didn't think that you cared so deeply."

"He was my client. He was my client and...I failed him."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHlKfNSiM2c

"I know. I just...he killed my brother."

Triton felt like a failure. Had she protected Christian all those years ago, this never would have happened. Deep down, she knew that she did all that she could. Yet, she couldn't help but feel weak. Most of all, she was ashamed of her weakness.

Triton walked off the trail. "Hey, Narrator!"

The Narrator materialized. "Why, hello there! What do ya need?"

"What happened to Blaire--the one that I met?"

"Her? It? It just tried to grab the items from Saturn, then it hid by the lake so none of you could find it."

"And what will happen to her now?"

"Who knows? It lost all of it's purpose in life. A dead father, a failed game, an unresolved mystery...depressing ending. Won't be long before it's disconnected from the mainframe forever. Why do you care?"

"I had a feeling that Blaire wanted to protect us. I had a feeling she'd see us now and...be happy for us."

"Ooooooookaaaay. Not really seeing the relevance here."

"My condition. I'm unable to see human faces or process the emotions on them. Blaire was different. Perhaps because she was less than, no...more than human. Perhaps that's why she was different."

"You were able to see a face?"

"No. But for the first time in my life, I was able to see what happiness looked like. She taught me that and I'll...I'll never forget it. I won't forgot about her or her father for as long as I live."

Spoiler: Yon END
During the break, Yon decided to start up a conversation with Pigeon.

"Brian, I can't say this enough. I'm so sorry. For everything."

Pigeon thought long and hard. "I can't forgive you. Not now."

Yon looked down. "It's ok. I understand."

Loneliness. That was what Yon felt the most. Everybody had been brought here for a reason and it seems that Yon's was there to face his sins of the past. His own selfishness had led to the death of his best friend, a young girl, and everybody who had died in the game today. He had alienated Brian and he had to look at his own soul from an outside perspective. On some level, Yon wished he had never regained his memory.

"I do think there's one that I now understand." Pigeon said. "Your bracelet..."

Yon looked down at the display. It read [12]. "Y-Yeah. What about it?"

"You did that when you chose the right path. 12 was my brother's number. I...I think the Narrator was trying to tell you that you're like him. Or...becoming like him at least."

"But how? I have no right to call myself a Detective anymore."

"It's like Eric said. All that matters at the end of the day is whether or not you can call yourself a good person. My forgiveness should mean nothing to you."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vNYydvw13LM

Yon stood up and looked at Pigeon in the eye. "I'll never be the man your brother was. But even so...I want to change. I'm going to confess my crimes and atone for what I did. I need to look every case I've ever done and...and..." Vincent stopped. It wasn't enough. It would never be enough.

"But even so, you can still fight." Pigeon smiled, almost as if he read his mind. "You'll never be able to reverse your mistakes but you can make this world a better place. Cliché but it's a fight worth fighting, and I'll be there alongside you."

"B-Brian...why?"

"The man I met in that place wasn't Vincent Grant. He was Yon. And Yon showed me that there's a good person sleeping inside of you. That alone is worth fighting for."

Spoiler: Leo END
During the break, Leo went off to the side. He thought about James. He thought about Alex. He thought about Charlie. But most of all, he thought about Rachel. They had been his friends. They had been his family. And now...

"I'm the only one left."

The Narrator materialized. "Pretty miserable, huh? Well if it makes you feel any worse, I knew this outcome would occur from the beginning of the game! So ironic that the one who ended up ending the Ridley Brothers forever was the man who tried to keep it together!"

"Y-You knew this would happen?"

"Of course! As I said, I am a [God]. I know your past, present, and future. Time is nothing to me. And spoiler alert, but you're in for a pretty miserable ending. All of you are, actually."

"I had no choice." Leo justified. "If I hadn't, he would've killed me."

"Nope!"

This did in fact take Leo by surprise. "W-What?"

"Don't you know? Your brother's [motive] in all of his crimes? The one thing he wanted to avoid was you obtaining the knowledge that he had betrayed you. You were the closest person to James, believe it or not. He couldn't bear the thought of you hating him."

"The fuck..." Damian shook his head. "You're lying."

"Nope. I don't really see an outcome with this game where James would've killed you. And as a gift, I'm going to tell you why your brother did everything he did! The story of his [betrayal]."

"I don't want to hear it."

It was the Narrator's turn to be surprised. "W-What?"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n49L3RgGrpI

"Knowing why James did what he did...it's a story I don't need to hear. It won't change anything. I've spent the past 18 years of my life looking for answers. I've destroyed myself and those around me. Knowledge is a burden, and as a final gift to James, I'll fulfill his wish. I won't hear how he betrayed me."

"T-T-That's not right! You've been dying to know this! Your characterization has been leading to this!"

"I'm not a character in your story." Leo spat. "You told me you knew my future, but you didn't predict this outcome. You say your all-knowing but it seems your knowledge has made you weak. I have no desire to learn about James. For better or for worse, I must move on without him in my life. I must bring old magic back into this world."

The Narrator twitched and then twitched again when he realized he showed his weakness. "Y-You can't be serious. Was the reason you refused just to spite me?"

"Hmph." Leo smiled. "Look at you, the all-knowing God struggling to understand a "mere human." I have nothing more to say to you. Now, fuck off."

Spoiler: Pigeon END
Brian had voluntarily arrived at the facility. He had learned the truth about his brother as he had wanted, but now there was blood on his hands.

Christian Rune...if only there was time to exchange words with him. The man had reduced himself to nothing but an entity of revenge, something that Brian had just tasted. It seemed an endless cycle of hate was brewing--the Narrator pushing it along like a river.

"D-Did I lose?" Brian put his hand to his head. Would Eric have killed Christian? "What's happening to me? W-Who am I?"

Brian felt someone grab his hand. He looked up and saw...

"It's going to be alright." He said. "You need to forget about me for now. You need to stop thinking about me and think for yourself. You are not me, you are Brian Goodman."

And just like that, he was gone. Was it a hallucination? It had to have been more than that...he quickly got up to look over the area.

"Blaire..." As he looked over the landscape, Brian felt himself muttering her name under his breath. He didn't know why. It seemed...natural.

The winds cut over the hills and whistled throughout the area. Was his brother watching him? No, that didn't matter. Whether or not he was watching, Brian had to move forward on his own.

Brian joined the four others and walked. It had been so long, but Brian finally felt as if he was doing something right.

"Thank you. Thank you, Eric."
