During the break, Leo went off to the side. He thought about James. He thought about Alex. He thought about Charlie. But most of all, he thought about Rachel. They had been his friends. They had been his family. And now...
"I'm the only one left."
The Narrator materialized. "Pretty miserable, huh? Well if it makes you feel any worse, I knew this outcome would occur from the beginning of the game! So ironic that the one who ended up ending the Ridley Brothers forever was the man who tried to keep it together!"
"Y-You knew this would happen?"
"Of course! As I said, I am a [God]. I know your past, present, and future. Time is nothing to me. And spoiler alert, but you're in for a pretty miserable ending. All of you are, actually."
"I had no choice." Leo justified. "If I hadn't, he would've killed me."
"Nope!"
This did in fact take Leo by surprise. "W-What?"
"Don't you know? Your brother's [motive] in all of his crimes? The one thing he wanted to avoid was you obtaining the knowledge that he had betrayed you. You were the closest person to James, believe it or not. He couldn't bear the thought of you hating him."
"The fuck..." Damian shook his head. "You're lying."
"Nope. I don't really see an outcome with this game where James would've killed you. And as a gift, I'm going to tell you why your brother did everything he did! The story of his [betrayal]."
"I don't want to hear it."
It was the Narrator's turn to be surprised. "W-What?"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n49L3RgGrpI"Knowing why James did what he did...it's a story I don't need to hear. It won't change anything. I've spent the past 18 years of my life looking for answers. I've destroyed myself and those around me. Knowledge is a burden, and as a final gift to James, I'll fulfill his wish. I won't hear how he betrayed me."
"T-T-That's not right! You've been dying to know this! Your characterization has been leading to this!"
"I'm not a character in your story." Leo spat. "You told me you knew my future, but you didn't predict this outcome. You say your all-knowing but it seems your knowledge has made you weak. I have no desire to learn about James. For better or for worse, I must move on without him in my life. I must bring old magic back into this world."
The Narrator twitched and then twitched again when he realized he showed his weakness. "Y-You can't be serious. Was the reason you refused just to spite me?"
"Hmph." Leo smiled. "Look at you, the all-knowing God struggling to understand a "mere human." I have nothing more to say to you. Now, fuck off."
