These are (generally) ordered by time requested, so it’s not that neat. Sorry but it just made it way easier to gather

But since this is prewritten, I will dump my favorite characters. It means nothing if your character isn’t listed here, I liked most of them a lot. I just don’t feel great about ranking all of them as a GM and already feel kind of bad doing this many. But if you ask me for my honest thoughts on your character I’ll tell you

Spoiler:
1. Casey - Best F character ever

2. Dale - When Panda told me the character he was submitting was like Damien, all I could think was “oh no.” But Dale was fantastic. Good talent, great personality, and gets a legitimately sad ending. I understand the post-trial was awkward since he was dead and all but I felt really bad that the class just kind of hated him and didn’t really try to understand what he did (aside from a comment by Kagayaki that they shouldn’t forget their real enemy). He’s simple but everything about him works

But what really elevated Dale for me? His swearing. The idea of a mean, tough character with a potty-mouth that never actually swears is just hilarious. It’s these kind of details that just push certain characters up so much. It’s such an awesome quirk that tells you so much about his character right away while also making him really unique. Obviously it’s not the only reason he was great but it’s still an awesome detail

3. Anissa - Just hilarious all around and a completely enjoyable presence in the game. Her gimmick could’ve easily ended up being tiring but it had a lot of mileage and never let up

She was also just a good character outside of her personality, with a good amount of depth and great role in the story that only added to it

Good game guys, and good job Arthur and JM. Game was a blast and I had loads of fun.

I do want to apologize to everyone (especially Planetbox) about Shirly, especially the forcing herself on Anissa part. Calling that a jump the shark moment would be an understatement, and if my character becomes one of the most disliked F game characters, then that's all my fault. Kudos to Planetbox for still being cool even after I was a massive dick to him.

I will say, after being survivor two times and GM once, I really should've volunteered as killer or victim some time during this game. Especially with all the problematic Shirly stuff that came up late game, I should have bitten in ch 3-4 when it would have been most appropriate. Needless to say, I'll be taking everyone's comments, in addition to my own reflections, into consideration for next game.

GG everyone, and good luck to whoever runs F4!

Being a killer is definitely fun, I highly suggest trying it sometime :)

I had a good time, even though I was out right at the beginning. I liked that John lived on through Monoroomba (WHO I LOVED HOW DARE YOU GUYS KILL HIM, HE WAS PURE AND BEAUTIFUL) even though the character died, and I did enjoy how he was written. The only thing that was unfortunate (but obviously super necessary for the game and I volunteered, so I'm not upset), is the fact that I WAS picked for the Mastermind lol. I had lot of plans for John, and I wanted to be a right prick up until my death (which I still got to do haha)

Great job to all the participants! While I'm sad neither I nor my niece made it in, I feel like pershaps I wouldn't have been able to live up to how good the other characters ended up being. Can't say the same for my niece of course.

I don't really have much constructive to say right now, unfortunately, but I will say Monoroomba most tragic death 2018. Seriously though, good job pulling at the heartstrings.

My favorite character? Hm . . . You know me. I can't decide that so easily (let's face it, I'll probably never come to a definite conclusion.) I'd hope that speaks to how well-written everyone was, but with how wishy-washy I can be I dunno how much stake you can even put in that.

Still, congrats to the graduates, but everyone's a winner in my book.
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day.
Credit to my niece for the original drawing of Mikael Stanza which I rendered to produce the avatar you now see!

Oh, and I nearly forgot. I made dead sprites for all the students ahead of time to get them to JM and Arthur ASAP. This means Shirly's, Akio's, Molly's, Kagayaki's, and Lyla's went unused. Here's all the sprites in a grid if you want to see them all:

Mecha did it first in his narration. Then in chapter 4 I got the chance to use it again because he asked us for his feelings. I don't remember if anyone used it between those two times.

Anyway, I have a lot of praise to Mecha and JM for a job well done. Monoroomba was a fantastic character and as was John (so great job to SiRReN as well). It felt really fresh reading their dialogue after so many dang Dangan Ronpa games with Monokuma and Monokuma derivatives.

The narrative with us all being sent to the murder game by our enemies was fun. I also thought the format was very good. The Daily Life events were a good idea and helped to pace out the game better. I also felt like there was a pretty good turnaround time with the trials and great ideas for each of them. Chapter 1 was ingenious, and I had a ton of fun with the other three I played. The victims got pretty good treatment I think this time.

I gotta say I had a lot of fun RPing with this cast! Lots of fantastic RP stuff happened. Special shoutouts to Franzise for making me irl cry several times during the backhalf of chapter 4.

I volunteered for Mastermind, but like I guess that wouldn't have made any sense. As I said though, John was excellent.

Also @Lone, Shirly had a lot of good stuff going on, too. I was not super familiar with the bad sides of the character. I do agree that you're missing out on not being a victim or killer, though. Being a part of the narrative like that is a lot of fun.

That was brilliant, guys. Great cast, great mysteries, great... other stuff.

Yeah that's about all I have to say sorry.

Honestly (and I feel like some people might disagree here), I thought that part of the FTE was genuinely interesting and helped me understand Shirly's character better (make of that what you will). What got me annoyed was the repeated mentions of it in the Ch4 trial and the numerous jokes on Discord that stopped being funny near instantaneously. Also let's just say that in Chapter 5, the FTE, uh... didn't quite go how I hoped it would.

Pretty sure you've been told this by now, but pro-tip: if you have a dumb joke about an F game, just make it once and leave it alone. Don't make it like fifteen times and then try to make it canon through questionable methods.

Admittedly, I'm more annoyed that Anissa's dead sprite doesn't match the avatar but

Also I was reading the QT's and saw this, which I thought was kinda funny cause I actually have written a cowboy character lol. He's like in his forties and also an insane cultist whose bullets explode though, but whatever.

Yeah, agreed. I went way overboard there. Should have been a one-time thing and just that. I was surprised when the fte became permanent and really had no idea what to do with it considering Anissa was gonna be avoiding Shirly at all costs.

GG boyos.

I'm not 100% satisfied with where Akio went (and how he reacted to the video was more me being stupid than Akio) but regardless I think this was a good game. Inactivity was only sort of an issue in the later daily lifes and trial 3, and I don't really have anything to really elaborate on that. I think the fourth trial was easily the best -- the concept was so good and interesting.

I think my favorites this game were probably Kagayaki and Anissa, but yeah Fransize and PB are always consistent with their characters. Good game everyone~

It's a little late, but I'd like to add in my word too.

I really enjoyed playing this game overall. It was probably my favourite F game with my favourite F cast. In particular, the first two cases were some of my favourites.

I'm also happy that my character was generally well received this time, and even actually was sort of the fan favourite this game around. I'm glad that I succeeded with what I meant to do wth him this time around, and how I just generally tied everything together. Being told by JM that Terry was in his top 3 was a huge honour for me. Even the FTEs I had were all rather fruitful. The only real regret I have is mayyybe dying too early. I probably could've died chapter 3 and it would've been better timed, but I'm still happy with how everything turned out.

In terms of acknowledgements, my thanks go to both Mecha and JM for cohosting this game wonderfully. You guys both did a great job, and thanks for coordinating it with my own game as well. That was super cool of you.

Next, a shout out to my favourite characters- Dale, Sachiko, Momo, Casey and Kagayaki were some of my favourites and all had generally good lines. You all really did good on them, guys (especially Franzise for surviving, we're all proud of you :p ). Super special shoutout to Momo, whom I think I really got to know better and even elevate his character arc. Also to lcarus and Sad_Yoshi, who both did a great job on their first DRF characters. You both really are setting the standard high.

Of course, I still felt there were some issues with the game. Characters gradually grew inactive and quieter as the game progressed, and by extension so did their FTEs (though I haven't started them yet). The Love Suites and Ouija Boards also felt pretty unused for some pretty unique concepts.

Other than that, though, I really did love this game. Congrats to the survivors and the other players in general! This game will definitely have a place in my heart…for the first time I was actually well liked XD

Ok there is a small thing I'll mention

The intention was that John would die Ch1 and nobody would know his motives. There was some miscommunication with SiRReN, she got excited, and...yeah

We did try to come up with somewhat of a different story, and even an alternate identity for S but nothing really worked. But the intention was that Ch5 people would just be told that the mastermind gathered people that hated them for the motive, and then Ch6 would reveal that they were actually all volunteered. So I do think Ch6 lost some of its punch since there was no reveal--the reveal happened much earlier in Ch1

To be clear, I'm not upset with SiRReN (nor is Arthur). It was our fault for not really being clear enough. But I will still say I was devastated to wake up and see that our only endgame twist was just dropped out of nowhere and we had nothing else. Things still seemed to work out fine regardless but yeah, that's how it went

Yeah, I guess I'll have to echo SC's sentiment about the decline in the level of activity throughout the game. I mean obviously everyone is gonna be busy with stuff outside of the game, and the end of the game happened at the end of the semester which would probably be a big factor. It's just one of those things I hope gets to be better in F4.

CaptainPancakes wrote:

Nice! Someone who shares my vision of the perfect case!

Also I sort of liked the volunteering thing getting revealed early. It added to the group dynamic a little. Maybe I'm biased since Casey probably benefitted as a character from knowing everyone there was kind of a thug since it made it easier to rally around people who turned out to be hiding bad stuff. Though yeah it definitely hurt chapter 6 when it came around.

I really liked this game, even if I didn't post too much. I feel like this game was a straight up upgrade from F1 and was really nice to play in. Good character balance, superb GMs and good trials. F3-4 is probably the best F trial to date, I really really enjoyed its twists.

Good stuff.

Wooooo! F3 was an absolute blast. I enjoyed pretty much every minute of it, with chapters 1 and 4 being the highlights of the game, and 3 being my least favorite mostly due to IRL circumstances at the time.

Thanks a ton to Arthur/Mecha and JM for making this whole thing. Fantastic job.

Another thanks to everyone else also playing, the game wouldn't be the same without all of you!
Huge sorry to my FTE partners who suffered because I'm terrible at checking and responding on QT. Wish things could've gone better there.

I'm glad to say that Silas doesn't seem to have ended up like Ray, and that I'm improving, even if it's only a little. It's better than getting worse, at least!

Looking forward to NG6 and whatever comes after. Great game everyone.

Yeah the chapter 4 trial was great. I kinda preferred Chapter 3 but I'm not entirely sure why.

As for favorite characters, it's really hard to choose. Kagayaki, Casey, and Akio are up there somewhere. Dale and Terry were also pretty cool, and I liked Claudius even though he was pretty inactive.

Great game, you guys! It be lying if I said I wasn't sad I didn't make it in, but it was fun to spectate regardless. This was my first Danganronpa F game I saw from beginning to end, so I've learned a few tips for if I get into F4.

As for favorite characters, I'd say probably John, Dale, and Anissa. Though I liked everyone regardless.

Anyways, good luck to everyone else participating in NG6 tomorrow and to whoever's doing F4!

Excellent job to everyone who participated, especially to the GMs! It was really fun to be in another DRF game, and it feels like they keep on getting better every time.

Special thanks to Terry/SC for our neat joined story arcs, I found our interactions really fun and worthwhile. The whole Necronomicon/JJ thing was also so sweet like shucks. Momo's f3 story definitely wouldn't have been the same without him.

I do kind of regret being a bit less interactive in chapter 3, I started getting busier irl and I didn't really know what to do or say with Momo, so sorry about that, since I know some people liked him and wanted to see a bit more of him.

But yeah, here's hoping for the best luck for everyone in the future forum games!

Maybe because you got a cool scene during it? Stuff like that can definitely help.

But also case 3 was actually really good. I liked the way Claudius's illiteracy was used in the mystery, same with Silas's colorblindness. Similarly, S had a great role since he got to protect Anissa, which wound up being meaningful when we learned his true identity. I loved how Claud and Momo each had interesting motivations as victims with Claud fighting Dale and Momo continuing to protect Audrey after getting shot. Plus everything about the Kagayaki red herring was a lot of fun, probably even more fun for me. I kind of wish we didn't get to use the lifeline on it so that it would have been an even bigger event. The fact that we had no killer to give us a confession helped make the voting part really tense. The only problem with it was the post trial feeling kind of empty.

I mean chapter 4 had a lot of fun stuff in it, and I loved it, but it sort of had less of that character stuff in the alibis unless you were me or Icarus.

^ Fwiw Akio got a really sweet scene with Sachiko Chapter 4 :p

I just loved the concept of time travel clone, idk it was really creative and I think the fact that it was integrated so well when it could have been awful made it so impressive and boosted it up my rankings.

Generally I think F3 had the best mysteries overall when it comes to consistency.

Well, I didn't really "get" that scene because I came up with it but Yeah I'm talking about stuff in the actual mystery, mostly. Both of those trials had a lot of cool stuff in them, but I think the setting of Chapter 3 might have helped some. The mansion was just more interesting than weird techno upper floor, I guess.

Also that was the first trial where I got MVP so

Hey all,

Congrats on a great game-- thanks to the players for making this a really great game! As JM has alluded to, not everything, story elements included, happened in the way (or even the order) that we initially intended, but I think the result turned out really well! At any rate, this has certainly been a learning experience for me, and I hope you all had a good time playing.

Also big thanks to JM, without which this game would've been substantially worse. I appreciate all the effort he put in to make this happen.

Also big props to Nanjo-- he basically called our big Chapter 4 twist so it seemed inevitable that Casey played the role she did in Chapter 4.

Thanks for running this, JM and Arthur, this was really great

I wasn't really sure what I was doing with Kagayaki for the first couple chapters or so (the events and alibis helped shape her quite a bit) and didn't really know how well she was going over with the other players so I'm really happy to hear she seemed to be liked

On my end, Casey was definitely my favorite, she was a real joy to play off and I absolutely cried at the end of her trial sorry for misinterpreting her stubbornness like that, that was pretty embarrassing once I realized what was really going on

Anissa, Akio, and Terrence were others I was fond of off the top of my head, though I liked most everyone

I didn't really DISlike any characters so much as I wish I'd seen more of them, there were a couple I felt weren't quite active enough in the thread for me to get a proper feel for them, which was sort of disappointing since they all seemed to have good potential (haven't read all the FTEs yet)

Yo I have a similar impression of Kagayaki actually. All the way through chapter one I was pretty confused what the point of the character was. However, as time went on I think you put a lot of work into developing the character and made her one of my absolute faves. She has a great arc for a survivor. The Casey/Kagayaki FTE is rad and I hope that we had enough cool scenes in the main thread that other people were able to understand and enjoy that relationship.

(Wait what was this? I don't remember you misinterpreting anything)

It was when Kagayaki defended her by saying she had some kind of condition; I thought Casey genuinely didn't remember killing anyone so figured she must have had DID or something similar idk I'm dumb

And yeah, I'm glad you seem to have enjoyed their relationship as much as I did, I think they had a really good dynamic and I'm pretty sure Kagayaki would have come off as a much flatter character if she hadn't had someone like Casey to not only act as a contrasting personality but to help her come out of her shell a little

Oh yeah I remember that. I think it's pretty sweet that Kagayaki believed in Casey but also tried to rationalize what she was seeing on the screen. Plus the confession part where Casey finally admits she did it was pretty fun, and that maybe would have landed differently if Kagayaki had already articulated what Casey was doing.

Also, just out of curiosity, has anyone else been thinking of running F4? Kachu and I have been considering it, and we were wondering if anyone else already had plans or ideas. Nothing is set in stone yet obviously, but we would rather ask now rather than later, especially considering how we won't have much time in May due to finals.

If we were to start, sign ups would likely be in late May, with the game starting mid to late June. Again, nothing set in stone yet.

I can at least confirm I do not plan on running it. GMing twice in a row seems like quite the burden.

Hey I feel the exact same way.

I'm really not too confident in my skills to actually do this, but if I never try then I'll never know.
Finding a good partner or two can help out a lot, though. Even if you don't plan on being next, or the one after or whatever, I'll be down to discuss ideas and stuff with anyone. F and I don't need to do the next game or anything, but I am interested in trying my hand at running something.

So if anyone's got anything going on in their head but doesn't want to do anything alone, feel free to come at me about it. Or don't whatever you wanna do man I can't control nobody.

Yeah, I definitely couldn't run it without some kinda co-GM, I imagine. But what with my schedule the way it is, I doubt I could run one at a time that's not summer anyway, which is problematic.

Summer is on its way, though. I dunno if you want to wait a year or not, but I'm sure no one would mind if the game had a bit of a break and waited for the Summer, which is probably a pretty good time for everyone involved tbh.

I'll say I'm interested in running. I am certainly not closer to being able to run than anyone else though, but if PB wants to team up with me for the summer, I would gladly do so and we could start brainstorming. I'm also fine with F and Kachu running in the summer, just figured I'd articulate that I'm both available to help and interested.
