((Link to Day 1: TCF:Day1))

February 7th, 10:00 A.M.
District Court
Courtroom No. 2

The Judge sat down, prepared for day two of this long battle.
"Court is now in session for the trial of Cymric Chartuex.
"Yesterday, we learned several key points about the murder. The first being that it was committed from 30 feet away with a pistol, and the second being that at the scene, a gun, telescopic sight, and receipt for the sight were located right by the window from where the murderer shot the weapon. Third, it was determined that the scope had unknown fingerprints on it, and those prints could not be matched. Finally, we have determied that the scope was related to a company, G.A.T.O. Corp., which deals in weapons trade, and was being investigated by the defendant and the victim. Overall, this is a standstill, for the present evidence is not enough to cast judgment, and only create unnecessary speculation. It would seem there may be missing pieces to this puzzle."

"Prosecution, I assume you managed to find some witnesses?"

(Current Items in the Court Records:
-Attorney's Badge: 'Nobody would believe I was an Attorney without this,' is inscribed in the back of it. Must be the motto.

-Ricky's "M1911A1 Colt" pistol (Murder Weapon): Fired Once. Registered to the defendant, and has the defendant's finger prints on it. Was found on the floor near the window.

-Special Scope: Was customized to attach to the murder weapon. Prints are located on it, but none can be matched. Apparently special-ordered. Found at the scene on the floor near the window.

-Receipt: Receipt for custom scope from an unknown company, "G.A.T.O. Corp.". Found along with the gun and scope.

-Crime-scene Diagram: A diagram of the crime scene, seen from above. Depicts the location of the weapon, evidence, and the state of the room. ((Click this LINK to view.))

-Scope Fingerprint Analysis Results:
The scope was sent to the crime lab to have the fingerprints cross-referenced by the crime-lab's computer. The tests show that the prints that were present do not match up to anyone on record. RESULTS: INCONCLUSIVE.

-Autopsy Report: Death caused by single bullet to the head from 30-40 feet away. Ballistics from bullet match defendants weapon. Blood splatter analysis confirms bullet trajectory.

Micheal sighed deeply and rubbed his forehead, this trial was not going the way he had hoped. "Your honor, we would like to call John Idoh to the stand". Micheal hoped to get this out of the way as soon as possible.

"Tsk tsk, Michael... you should know never to question why I ask my questions by now." Xero shook his head. "You've eaten your words before, and if you're not careful, I'll make you eat them again.

"Now, let's look at the facts. Mr. Idoh here says that he walked out and saw the gun. But this is contradictory! For if he walked out and looked up after Mr. Slynx was killed, all he would have seen was a window with a hole in it!"

"Mr. Wright, I think we have heard enough of this. It is obvious that Mr. Idoh saw the gun through the window right after it was fired at the victim. Whether or not the witness ran out or casually strolled to see the window, and the gun, is irrelevant."

"Now please, quit badgering the witness, and resume your cross examination."

.

February 8th, 10:30 A.M.
District Court
Courtroom No. 2

Miles Edgeworth entered the courtroom in a regal manor; chin raised, shoulders back. He was the last one there, just making it on time for the trial. He marched over to his desk, took out his notes, and began to make his announcement.

"I apologize for my tardiness, Your Honour, but I had not finished my other case until approximately five minutes ago. As we all know, Micheal Gray, the previous prosecutor for this case, cannot be with us anymore. His wife, who lives in Washington, was brutally murdered yesterday during the trial, and he will not be returning any time soon."

"I see. It was quite unexpected when he was immediately called from a court proceeding." Spoke the Judge.

The previous day's trial had been interrupted quite abruptly when an officer quickly rushed to give Prosecutor Grey a message. Grey had immediately left in a rush without a second word.

"Have you looked over the case information from the past two days, Prosecutor Edgeworth? I am worried that you may not be up to speed, legend that you may be."

With a quick smirk of victory, Edgeworth answered the judge.

"Ah, Your Honour, don't worry about that. Micheal Gray was something of an understudy to me, so I know all about this case. In fact, I was the one who gave it to him in the first place."

Edgeworth glanced over to the defence table at Xero Wright and his aide. The 49 year old prosecutor had eaten kids like them for breakfast. He was convinced that this trial was going to be one of the easiest he'd ever had. Experience has no substitute.

The young defense aide looked up from reviewing the evidence seen so far, his jaw nearly dropping to the floor at the fact his idol was the new prosecutor. 'Not good. No way Xero can beat Edgeworth. No way.' he thought, taking one last look over his copy of the autopsy report and placing it in his briefcase. "Mr. Wright. You SURE you're up to this?" Alex held visible worry in his eyes. This was nowhere near good. He bit his lower lip in thought, adjusting his tie and looking out at the court.

"I'm quite sure," responded Xero, looking over at Miles. "He's my father's old rival. I remember that they had a rule, 'There's no substitute for experience'... but I believe that 'there is no substitute for the truth', no matter your experience. Don't worry, I'll be fine."
