Depends on how you interpret Godot.

There's definitely a lot of room for argument, considering there was one time (iirc) when Iris was going to be declared guilty and he stopped it, and with his "upside-down" comment.

Those two things alone seem to show that he wanted to get found out, but we can still have a conversation/argument/debate on why xD

To let phoenix prove himself in court - pay a little more attention to the conversation, and you'll see that he still wanted Phoenix to finish what was started. He didn't want to give EVERYTHING away in one go, since that wasn't his ultimate goal.

i'm not clear. i say somethings i dón't want to know. what i mean't was if he said nothing
no-one could prove if phoenix claim was true. so why did he confess ? (and if he did't say anything THEN must phoenix prove himself)

Because he was aware that his action was still wrong - and, After everything he had gone through, I imagine he simply wanted to be found and brought to justice. Remember, he was a talented attorney before he was a prosecutor, and his sense of right and wrong probably was a part of this decision.

Apart from that, it's simply left to be interpreted how you wish - the game leaves a small amount of cloudy ambiguity in the end so it's not totally clear on the why's - all we really know is he did want to get found out by the end. If he hadn't, he never would have objected when Dahlia had disappeared and the judge was about to declare a ruling...he simply wanted the truth to be found.

My opinion is that it was all a test for Phoenix. If he didn't care about seeing if Phoenix was as good as Mia, he would have confessed right away.

As for the end were Phoenix has to prove he did it and he says the wound is under the mask, Godot knew he would have to take off his mask anyway to prove his claim, so he confessed without wasting time.

Besides, taking off the mask in the end wouldn't have been as good as the blood tear, story-wise.

He never thought Phoenix as a true lawyer, he hated him for Mia's death, so he wanted Wright to prove himself in court. :gant:
