Now mind you, the PC version of GS1 was a port of the GBA version of Gyakuten Saiban. The PC version had the same sprites in it as the GBA version. These sprites are stolen from the 'promotion' to the PC version.

Yeah, when I saw that, I was like WTF?! I thought it was Wooster making fun of us, or something xD
I'm afraid the game won't even be released outside Japan, especially with the remake coming on Wii (and also iPhone) quite soon.

So yeah, the PC version isn't really worth longing for, the only place you can see these sprites in action is the TGS movies.
The upcoming Wii and iphone ports appear to be ports of the DS version, but apart from the interface changes there doesn't seem to be anything new for them either. They're just cash-ins.

And why in the world is Capcom omitting this sprite in their more recent games:

I'm not at my computer right now so I can't verify what I have, but I'm fairly sure that I've posted everything that's remotely intersting. Why? Was there something in particular you saw that I missed? Or are you of the school of thought that there were some images dummied that I didn't post or something?

False.
The PC version came out After the DS version, but was still a direct port of the GBA version. Thus lower quality sprites and backgrounds then on the DS. I don't know where the rumor started that the PC version used high quality sprites, but it's decidedly false.
