Is it just me or are the guilty/not guilty scales looking different? Also, am I the only one thinking the silhouette is a young Barok? You can see the similar hair to his. Maybe there will be a flashback case to him prosecuting in Japan? Or even defending, since he has the English sash?

I dunno where you see an English sash, since the armband on his right arm is the signature of a Japanese defense attorney.

While I do await an eventual plot twist that reveals Asougi is still alive "somehow", I don't think the one being shown there is him after DGS-2. Perhaps it's a younger version of him. It could be an episode that can finally tell us what's going on between him and Susato. Which probably means that Auchi is going to return. Huzzah.

But I wonder... that hairstyle actually reminds me of Mitsurugi in a way.

You know, that's one of the possibilities that came to mind when I compared the silhouette with the hairstyles of the DGS characters on CR's character page. Some Japanese fans think it's Asougi, but the armband is on the wrong arm (Asougi's is on the left, mystery person and Ryu wear theirs on the right)... The hair also reminds me of Gina's bang, but not as curly; the inside of the cape is indigo.

I feel like Barok has a connection to Yuujin Mikotoba (Susato's dad); perhaps his passing is related to Barok's curse. I think Yuujin had a sudden fever toward the end of DGS-5, and Sherlock mentions that some defendants have passed away from mysterious diseases. Maybe Yuujin is the Japanese traitor Van Zieks was talking about; what if the two had a great friendship until Mikotoba gets accused of murder? Van Zieks prosecutes his friend to try and find out the truth, and the evidence points to the fact that his suspicions are true. But maybe Yuujin "cheated" somehow and got off the hook. Even if that theory's not true, I feel like Yuujin has a good reason for urging Naruhodou to go to Great Britain instead of Asougi...

Barok was originally a defense attorney and defended him in Japan, rather than prosecuting (since I'm fairly certain the armband is what a defense attorney wears) but something goes wrong, so wrong that Barok becomes a prosecutor?

That'd be a pretty cool Edgeworth parallel! Now my head is swarming with theories, and I can't wait to find out more... Also, something tells me Barok will have something to do with getting Naruhodou back in court.

Flashback case in Japan seems to be just about confirmed, though.

is the hat, which we've only seen Ryu and Asougi wear (which I presume is a fashion trend in Japan then), but Barok doesn't seem like the type to wear something like that. All I can think of is either the less cool one, where his "friend" got him to wear it, or the even cooler one, which is that Barok actually originated from Japan, and is essentially Japanese, and fled to England after something happened.

I think it may be another student in Japan who knew Asougi and became a prosecutor to get revenge on Ryuunosuke.

Susato was pretty pissed at Naruhodou for "murdering" Asougi at the beginning of case 2, I think. But that could just be her strong sense of justice. I don't really remember if there were any other hints.

I guess we could call her nearly coming to tears over Asougi's death while she was holding his sword in case 2's ending another hint. Though, that could just be a close attorney-assistant relationship, since Maya acted in a similar way when Phoenix was attacked by Regent.
