Post subject:  Ace Attorney 5 : Kokone and Payne brother's early designs
I don't know if this is old news or not, but a VG magazine in Japan (Famitsu? Nintendo Dream?) have an article about GS5. Now, there's nothing new in there, except some pictures of early designs for Kokone and Payne's brother. I put them under spoiler tags :

I kinda like the Arnold Schwarzenegger Payne. Wish they would've went with that one :)

Well Kokone didn't change that much, except for the haircolor... although I'm glad they chose the Payne version they did. One looked simply like the first Payne but with slight waves in the hair and that one with the curly tuff makes me just want to say, "Attention Peanut Gallery! ... if you could stop staring at my hair, I'll tell you how I took Child Grabbing Classes."

It's like a theme name. One design is like from Idol Master, one like Vocaloid, and a third that makes her look more like a student psychologist.

I wonder if the certain amount of coverage on AA5 this December means we can expect something for Jump Festa.
Better not get my hopes up though.

Also, is that the fusion of Payne and Lang on one of the concepts I'm seeing? :hobolaugh:
It does kind of look like Astro Boy.

Payne seriously has the best concept art.

Looks like the devs already had a set idea of they wanted Kokone to look like. She didn't deviate far from her concept art.

I was asking, because I remember Eshiro saying her early design had her look like an alien or something, so I was wondering...

Personally, I would've loved if they made mash up between the final design for the top-part of her body, and the top-right design for the bottom part of her body (the legs).

True, but those stockings don't really fit a law student (lawyer?) imo. I think this outfit suits her, as she looks cool and capable without dressing like, er, Mia. Besides, is nice to see an assistant who dresses a bit different than her predecessors.

Didn't Eshiro say that Kokone's glove and earrings were "important"? If they were so important, then why aren't they included in her prototype design?

Personally, I'm far more fond of the version of Kokone with glasses. She strikes me as far more professional looking and plausibly lawyer-like. The outfit her current version is wearing looks like a high school uniform... plus yellow and blue? Yuck. Her design is seriously unappealing.

I also really love the design with the glasses. I honestly wish they'd kept the glasses, shorter hair, and high collar; they make her look more professional. :yuusaku: My new headcanon is that the glasses design is Kokone when she was younger. Somewhere along the lines she dyed her hair, got contacts, and obtained a sassier fashion sense. :shoe:
