I'M DYING. I'M DYING FROM THE AWESOME.

Even if it was a very short demo, it was worth the wait. Sooo worth the wait.

Unfortunately, I'm sleepy right now, so I'll have to get to subs later...

I FINISHED IT!!!
Its a slightly longer than the tgs and niconico demo's
Many differences, here is the things I noticed.
Spoiler:
1.Its ends at the first CORNERED theme it shows.
2. Slightly longer Dialogue with Apollo before case starts. Showing off new animations
3. Heart scope segment included.
4. Instead of a security guard, its Apollo who is seen
5. Ends with an extended look at case 2, also Showing off Jun Yuugami.
6. In the court room rubble, Apollo is seen with his bandages.
7. Yuugami has a shout, sounds to me like "Amai na" But I'm not sure. Different Text.
8.Apollo and Athena are seen in the same camera angle in the defense side.

Also
Spoiler:
Trucy is briefly seen, alright showing off her magic panties, but case 2 is probably a flashback

I recorded my self playing this so I'll say when I notice something.

Post subject:  Re: GS5 Demo -Official site updated

How badly can they screw up? Well...

They screenshotted the models instead of taking advantage of the 3d hardware acceleration that Flash provides. So no nice camera pans. Using prerecorded (and overcompressed) video is not an acceptable substitute! No efficient asset reuse by letting the hardware do the skeleton animation. But you do get some rather obvious JPEG compression artifacts. At least they didn't cut any animation frames. Then again, had they kept the keyframing system they wouldn't have had to store all the frames to begin with...

The music is rather heavily compressed to. But at least it is stereo.

I haven't bothered looking yet, but I bet that it's all timeline stuff and actionscript 2 again. Which is considered obsolete and self punishment.

And the case opening seems rather short. Like "we cut out all the tricky stuff" short.

So in general: E for Effort. It would have taken less work to crosscompile the real engine and use real assets.

Thanks for finding the ending video Henke! (The link's bringing me to a blank tab...)

I finished the demo! I was having so much fun!
Here's some help for those that can't understand what to present and when:

Spoiler: "Walkthrough"
Evidence:
In Barashima's Cross Examination, present the elephant toy (Netsuzou-kun) At statement 4)

Kokoro Scope:
Morizumi:
1- Present the "Happy" face (Green) when indicated (It's part of the tutorial)
2- Present the "Sad" face (Blue) at the statement showing the picture of Apollo helping Morizumi.

Evidence:
Present the Toy's Tail when prompted

Accidental "quote" instead of "edit"...
EDIT: I might as well make use of it seeing as it was posted by accident...

That link that you put up doesn't load Henke, is there a way to view it (I'm guessing it's set up to only be viewed on the GS5 site)?

I haven't seen the older demos, so I have no idea what's different and new. I suppose it was already known that Apollo saved Shinobu? [/behind times]

And Yugami's shout is damarina (shaddup!) (for those who know Japanese: it's the shortened form of 黙りなさい)

I've ripped the music from the SWF of the demo, I'm gonna loop it and tag it and then thought people here might want it uploaded somewhere? Does anyone know where a good place to upload it to is? I don't have a Mediafire account or anything like that.

I'm liking the music so far but still wish Iwadare wasn't doing it. His stuff is just a little bit... 'jazzy'... I guess, for me. Plus I liked that previously every GS game had a different composer, Iwadare already scored GS3 and it shows with the semi re-hash of Objection 2004 in the 2013 version.

OFFICIALLY HAIPED~

I don't really like Nick's voice clips too much, except his Igiari! is good. But none of them are as bad as his new English Objection!
(I don't think any other character will ever compare to Naitou...)

That's exactly what I did :)

Music is here. Tracklist:

1 Gyakuten Saiban 5 - Prologue
2 Courtroom Lobby ~ Recurring Overture
3 Gyakuten Saiban 5 - Trial
4 Questioning ~ Moderato 2013
5 Logic and Tech
6 Ryuichi Naruhodo ~ Objection! 2013
7 Pressing Pursuit ~ Ambushed
8 Suspense
9 Mood Matrix

Each track loops twice then has a 10 second fade out. The track names are roughly in keeping with the other soundtracks but I took the liberty of naming some of them myself for this new version :will:

Loads of other stuff to be dug out of the SWF too...

Post subject:  Re: GS5 Demo -Official site updated

My thoughts/comments on the demo, now that I have time to write them down:
Spoiler:
Henke is right, the intro is pretty... weak. Hopefully the real one will be better. He's also right about the little cinematic things, but I'd be shocked if they weren't better in the real version.

Also, we're back to showing the killer in the intro? =\ 4-1 showed that they can do good first cases, and GK2-1 showed they can do amazing first cases, so I'll be pretty disappointed if this is a step backwards.

Kokone is such a Genki Girl.

Polly uses "ore"? +5 cool points for him

Heh, Kokone has special ears, and Polly has special eyes

Man, the criminal's first testimony is absolutely terrible... even Sahwit was better than him. I sure hope it's not in the actual game.

Besides the atrocious first testimony, it seems that they've gotten better at handling the idiot ball. Nick realizes the tail came from Enzai-kun as soon as he finds out about it, rather than faffling about for a few hours before putting it together.

That being said, the Heart Scope is pretty lame here. Still, it's just the demo, and it's the first time it's being used. Hopefully it'll be used in interesting ways later on. (And the same goes for Polly's bracelet, which I assume will be back in here.)

Objection 2001 again? Not that I don't like it, but... considering there were, like, three different versions of it in PLvAA, I could use a different one ^^"

...Actually, Polly (and possibly even Kokone?) will prolly get his own Objection theme, so okay~

The new trailer is SEXY

Nick's new Igiari! is good, except I don't really like the other ones. They sound kind of... scratchy to me? Better than the English one, at least. Yuugami's voice clip also sounds good-but-not-great to me.

So many new characters! *_* I didn't mind it in JFA or T&T, or even AAI really... but even I started to think the number of returning characters was a bit excessive in GK2, so I'll be happy with the oodles of new characters here~

It looks like Trucy has grown a bit since AJ (which is a good thing)

Also, I have a bit of a theory with case 2...
Spoiler: case 2
My theory is that case 2 is going to take place chronologically before case 1. I think that case 2 is the case Polly was working on when the bomb went off in case 1.

...Actually, if the bomb in case 1 interrupted the trial in case 2, then case 2 might take place both before and after case 1.

Also, for whatever reason, I keep on getting a locked room mystery vibe from what I see of case 2, so... gonna keep my fingers crossed :edgy:

Even though it was a 10 minute demo , the feelings I felt the whole time was joy and excitement filled with nostalgic feelings.

I'm definitely looking forward to more once the game comes out in Japan and in the states. Either way I'm getting both versions even if I can't stand the fact that those outside of Japan has to resort to digitally downloading the game...

Things like evidence and animations are all present frame by frame (Some are head only, some body only)

Or, I could manage up an English script in a few hours. It's only ~10 minutes of gameplay.

10-minute KOs probably won't make it into the actual game, which is kinda disappointing. It would set a new record for the Returned Turnabout.
