After a lot of delays, confusion, and general despair, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy HD is finally seeing a release on the iPhone a week from today!

Capcom had this to say in the Capcom-Unity post:

I can't wait! I have some friends who were interested in the game but did not want to pay 5 dollars just to play it, so this should work out well for them, and me as well. I will finally have someone to talk to about the games! :edgy:

Err I imagine they'll still have to pay for the full game.

Didn't Capcom say before that if you owned the original Ace Attorney 1 iPhone game, you'd get the full HD version for free? Just the first one obviously, not the second and third ones.

Yes, that's what I meant. They wanted to try the game before they spent that much money on it, but they couldn't with the original app. Since this one has the two free cases, they can basically see if it's worth it for them.(which it hopefully will be!)

I'd probably get this myself just to support the series and maybe if I had a sudden urge to replay a case... if I had an iPhone or whatever. I forgot: was there an Android version in Japan? If not, I guess I can't get this.

Yes, there was an Android version; but it hasn't been confirmed for localization yet. I see no reason why it wouldn't come Western, though.

Ah, good to see this is still coming to us. The first two cases being free is a pretty smart move too, gives new players plenty of time to get hooked.

WOW! I thought that AA123 HD was pushed back to July!! It's just like when we learned that AA:DD would be this Fall and not 2014! Very tricky Capcom. This is great news, the HD already looks great from previews:

Now, someone please help me with this dilemma!! Should I buy this? Much like many of you, I already have AA2 & AA3 for the DS, and I have the first AA on my old Iphone 4 (I just use it like an ipod now.) I really want to play the entire trilogy along with AJ before AA:DD again...but I already have all the games... what are the pros and cons for me buying this?! Should I or shouldn't I?! Why does this feel like not a big deal at all but I'm making it out to be?! UGH. :larry:

Oh, and I have a Google Nexus 4 so hopefully it comes out on Android soon. D:

Definitely re-buying this to see the games in all their HD glory. I will forever cherish my DS versions but this will be fun to go through and play again.

YES!!! I've been waiting forever for this! I've only ever played the first game, now I can own the trilogy in all its HD glory! FINALLY, I was so worried I'd have to wait until July. Does anyone have an idea why Capcom would say it's coming out in July and later announce it for May 30th? To crush our hopes and then multiply them by 100 when they're all like "lol jk, it's out next week"?

Now I'm hoping the Android version would come out soon as well.... I've been playing the game by other means but I've been planning to buy the physical copy but can't seem to find it in our country. So I'm buying the Android version once it comes out.
But the Android version has no English confirmation yet? = (

In fact, I was asking myself if the release would be in the whole world. I bought the first iOS port of PW1 a long time ago with a french account and does'nt want to wait more than American accounts to get my copy of Trilogy HD... Since Capcom Unity"s blog never mentionned that, I guess I'll just have to wait next week.

EDIT: It's not listed on the UK store at time of writing, but UK forumers can grab it here.

EDIT 2: Confirming it's not optimised for the iPhone 5 screen, and it doesn't offer you a discount for owning the original iOS port. The rest of PW:AA is £3.99, and JFA and T&T are £4.99 each. It's £11.99 to buy all 3 at once. Weirdly they've called it "A.Attorney" even though "Ace Attorney" fit fine under the old port's icon...

EDIT 3: The script has changed?!?!?!? At the start of 1-1, Nick tells Mia he hasn't been this nervous since he used to do school trials. I swear that wasn't in the DS version, was it? Was it? Hopefully this means they fixed some of the errors, too.

EDIT 4: The text speed is slower than the DS versions. It's especially slow for the green "typewriter" text. And it's kind of laid out in the middle of the screen... I guess it's to make the "centred" text look centred, but it makes everything else look weird. :yuusaku:

EDIT 5: The "Everyone Object!" mode still allows very few characters. Sadface. Oh, and there's still not much blinking. ...Right, anyway, I'm going to go and play for a bit before bed. I shall report back if there are any more shocking discoveries.

Looks like New Zealand were the first to get it. I guess that confirms it's an "English-speaking" launch rather than a "US launch". Phew.

I guess those are the first official screenshots of the English version, as well...?

Provided it releases in the UK nice and quickly (it's 11:13pm on the 29th, here) I may post up some more. :)

That's really strange. I don't really see why they changed the script, to be honest. The only important point is the "student trials back in high school" (the rest is just more nervous Phoenix), possibly in an attempt to make it more believable that he'd be given a murder case with no actual experience. But in a world where people have class trials about theft in grade school, there's not much use in trying to make law believable.

I used to have Sam Waterston as my avatar but photobucket added a watermark and also Law & Order has been cancelled for 10 years so it's time for me to move on.

Now, now guys. Lets not become Star Wars fanboys here, getting angry at the most microscopic of changes. :meekins:

It is interesting though that this version has a slightly different script. I wonder if they ever fixed all the spelling and grammar errors that were originally in JFA.

What we should be angry about is the HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE interface and lack of iPhone 5/iPod Touch 5th Gen. support. Of course, I already did a small rant about this on the other HD Collection thread. :yuusaku:

That's interesting. Are there any other bits of dialogue that were included in the Japanese version but that you remember being absent from the original localization?
