Just got this from Capcom, looks like we'll see some more Dual Destinies goodness at E3, likely just English versions of what we've already seen but better than nothing and hopefully we'll get a firm release date:

Capcom wrote:
Come join us at this year’s E3 Expo to experience all new versions of forthcoming releases DuckTales: Remastered, Dungeons & Dragons: Chronicles of Mystara and Lost Planet 3 as well as the debut of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies. And what’s more, we have a big surprise to share with you. To find out what it is you’ll have to head to booth # 2101 in the South Hall of the LA Convention Center.

For new assets from Capcom’s E3 line-up, (apart from the surprise one of course), head on over to our press extranet.

See you in LA

Also, some more English names:

Jin Yuugami - Simon Blackquill
Barashima Shingo - Ted Tonate

And from the official 'Fact Sheet':

Spoiler: "Fact Sheet"
GAMEPLAY OVERVIEW
Courtroom hero Phoenix Wright returns in the release of Phoenix Wright™: Ace Attorney™ - Dual Destinies this Fall. Previously announced for the West as Ace Attorney 5,
the title will be available to purchase as a digital download exclusively via the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo 3DS™.
The much loved gameplay and features from previous titles in the series are for the first time in stunning 3D, bringing the trials to life and putting players directly in the
heart of the action. Players will need to investigate crime scenes to uncover clues before heading to court and presenting evidence, challenging witnesses and unraveling the
truth behind each of the cases.
Joining Phoenix is the young attorney Apollo Justice and his new Assistant Attorney Athena Sykes, whose unique ability to psychoanalyze witnesses introduces a brand new
element to proceedings. Using Athena’s ‘Mood Matrix’ players can detect the emotional state of a witness and judge whether they’re surprised, angry, happy or sad. By
comparing this feeling with the evidence the witness is giving players can point out contradictions between their emotions and challenge the testimony.
The first case in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies sees events begin in a destroyed court room and it’s down to Phoenix and his team at the Wright Anything
Agency to discover the cause of the destruction. Players will have to battle it out in court against Gaspen Payne, as they defend the accused Juniper Wood.
Further episodes will continue to test players’ abilities to uncover evidence, expose witness inconsistencies and ultimately ensure justice is done.

FEATURES
 Memorable characters return – Phoenix Wright is back along with the familiar faces of young attorney Apollo Justice,
rival and prosecutor Miles Edgeworth
 Bring the drama to life on the Nintendo 3DS – The stunning 3D visuals bring the characters and environments to life.
Change the view of a crime scene in 3D and zoom in on areas to uncover hidden evidence and clues.
 OBJECTION! – Search crime scenes for clues, present and review the evidence in court, challenge witness testimonies
and unravel the truth across the different cases
 Psychoanalyse the witnesses – Detect emotional states of witnesses such as bomb disposal expert Ted Tonate and
analyze their mood using Athena Sykes’ ‘Mood Matrix’. Compare how the witness is feeling to the evidence their giving
and if there’s any contradiction the testimony can be challenged and the truth revealed
 EUREKA! – The unique and comical scripts, complete with all the usual plot twists and eccentric characters that have
become a stable to the Ace Attorney series create the base for this latest courtroom drama
 Intuitive interface – It is now easier than ever before to investigate crimes and analyze the evidence with the updated
in-game interface and game flow system, including a new feature that allows gamers to review their conversation
history.

That's, like, the most boring and un-intimidating name I can think of for this guy! Blackquill sounds decent enough, although kinda uninspiried, but Simon just.... No! That just sounds so... almost laughable, when put onto Jin, for God's sakes.

Thanks! Though if I can ask, where was Yuugami's English name confirmed? I don't see it on the fact sheet.

So they decided to play off the lack of retail by using the magical "exclusive" word. Good work PR team, good work.

It's listed as that on Games Press next to his artwork. The US/EU Capcom press sites haven't actually been updated yet :/

I laugh at Ted Tonate's name.

In my land "Tonate" is very similar to "Tomate" (in english Tomato) is very funny. :phoenix:

While Blackquill is pretty obvious, Simon leaves me wondering what they intended to show with that name...

After doing some research, I found out that this name could mean several things:
1. "To hear" ("to listen")
2. "To be heard"
3. "Reputation"

Well, I guess now we know why he shouts "SHUT IT!" in the court.

Ted Tonate?

*Strokes beard.*

I had heard about the dialogue history feature in a Japanese video. Definitely would be useful depending on where and when you save the game and walk away from it.

Really?

I think Simon is a fittingly sinister sounding name. Especially combined with the surname Blackquill sounds very Edgar Allen Poe and sinister victorian era.

Athena "Sykes". With an "S". Twice in the same press release.

Interesting.

Also, it looks like we'll be getting two new call-outs... "Got it!" as well as whatever Yugami's Simon's one gets translated as.

"Ted Tonate"

Ahahahahahahahaha

Dat pun.

Bit confused on Athena's name. I thought "Sykes" was just a misspelling, but it's done the same way twice. Does anyone know if it's still Cykes, or was it changed since the original English trailer?

It would be quite funny if they did a mistake in the name of their OWN character.

Ted Tonate XD At least this one is easy to spot! As for Simon Blackquill well it is ok... why do I think of Simon Belmont, they are nothing alike! Can't wait for E3...

Considering that they spelled Juniper Woods wrong (missing that one "s" at the end), I'm thinking that Sykes is more likely a typo that happened to be repeated twice.

This was exactly my reaction too. Because when ever I hear Simon i think of Simon from Alvin and the chipmunks :yuusaku: And Blackquill is a very lame last name. I mean sure it sounds alright but its too obvious. Course I don't like it right now but I'm sure it will grow on me soon enough.

As for Athena 'Sykes', I am crossing my fingers that it is a typo. Not that I have a problem with the double s or anything it's just that it now looks too close to 'Skye' for my liking. My mind just kept jumping to Ema :scientific: when ever I read 'Sykes'

I think of Simon Belmont, which isn't a bad fit.

Also it's not like Jin is a particularly rare or sinister name in Japan.

Yeah Belmont comes to mind a lot for me as well and in that light it seems very fitting.

Different 'Jin'. Yugami's Jin means swift.

As already noted they spelled it as "Sykes" two times in the fact sheet. I hope it's just an error, because "Sykes" indeed looks too similar to "Skye".

I must admit I don't mine the name Simon Blackwell. It's slightly generic, but still sounds old imposing, I think it suits him well. Tonate is kind nice, that I think of it. The punniness is classic AA. :phoenix:

That new font is still bugging me though...

Obviously, because he has black hair and has an eagle on his shoulder.
Black. Quill, as in feather of a bird. Or Quill, as in the pen you use made from the feather of a bird.

And I'm not saying Simon is a bad name.
I'm just saying it's completely unfitting for a prosecutor who is serving a murder sentence and looks the way he does. It's unintimidating, it's not scary, it doesn't strike any sense of foreboding or fear into me. Just makes me want to laugh at him.
I'm probably gonna remain with the Japanese names in this game.

"Miles" isn't too sinister sounding, considering his role in the first game. Maybe "Simon" here has a character development related to the simplicity of his first name.

Edgey wasn't supposed to strike fear into anyone's heart. He was supposed to be seen as a prodigy in prosecuting, so he was 'miles' ahead of other people.

Well excepting you going to the supposedly gay Simon Belmont for me it just conjures up images to the dark gothic redheaded Simon Belmont but more importantly it connects to the images of Castlevania of dark, serious, sinister stuff.

Which is fine for him.

I thought Simon Belmont had long, blond, wavey hair, wore leather a lot and the armor included a 'skirt' and he smacked people with a whip. Maybe it's a different Castlevania I'm thinking about.

Redesign's and changes, modern Simon Belmont confirms to the 'feminine-looking, angry, dark, gothic' art style they use nowadays.

Though he's also got a manly muscley 'wildman-lookin' redhead design as well.

God knows what the current official look is.

Plenty of fighters and warriors wear leather and/or armor that includes what appears to be a skirt, and some wield rather interesting weapons, and none of these have any bearing on their sexual preferences.

Although Captain N's version of Belmont was nothing short of an embarrassing memory. It's been a long time, but I am 100% certain the Belmont I remember from the NES games wasn't an obnoxious, bicep-kissing, teeth-flashing Ken doll that needed its tongue cut out.
