A plethora of new Dual Destinies information has been revealed in anticipation of the San Diego Comic Con.

First, there are 2 new English gameplay videos. The first is from the SDCC demo build, and stars Apollo and Athena investigating Phoenix Wright's mysterious disappearance, after abruptly ending a strange phone call to Apollo, with the words, "GIANT BIRD MONSTER...!"...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9eCKjmcRtdg

The second video shows of court elements from case 2, with the first English footage of Prosecutor Simon Blackquill.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NtCyq-TQiaA

Strange enough, the Court gameplay video's Youtube description doesn't match up with the case it is showing, instead referencing case 3:

Quote:
Witness the exciting drama that unravels in Episode 3: Turnabout Academy. An incident at the Themis Legal Academy sees the young law student and friend of Athena Sykes, Juniper Woods, arrested for the murder of Constance Courte. It will be down to Apollo Justice and his team to defend the accused against returning German prosecutor and guitar playing Klavier Gavin.

The description of the Investigation video suggest that there will be a playable demo available at Comic Con, featuring the investigation in the video.

New Character and Place names include:

Case 3:

Place: Themis Legal Academy

Myriam Scuttlebutt - The young lady hiding in the box

Spoiler:
Image

Principal Means - Currently unknown first name

Spoiler:

Constance Courte - Case Victim

UPDATE: Thanks to member Lusankya, the ratings for the game are PEGI 16 in Europe and M in the US.
Also, he managed to find some screens from case 3 from NintendoEverything

UPDATE 2: If you are going to SDCC, Capcom are giving away AADD charms, go grab one!

Yeah, they seem to have mixed up the descriptions.

Edit. Oh dear, his Objection.

If i am reading this correctly, this investigation footage is from a demo that will be playable at Comic Con?

Yep, should be the special scenario that won't be in the final game.

But how could they have mixed it up, it's really weird. Once again, Athena's last name has been spelt "Sykes" rather than the original "Cykes".

And yeah, i think we may have gotten too used to Blackquill's Japanese voice, i was expecting it to be deeper and more... fearful. But we should wait until we see some animated cutscenes with his voice in..

Of course, but let's just wait for the US version of the case 2 footage. ;)

Btw. rated ESRB M and PEGI 16.

Wait, did Simon also say OBJECTION in the JP version? I thought he just said something along the lines of "Shut your mouth" unless if he also has a standard OBJECTION to go along with that.

There are also English screenshots from case 3.

So the box guy is named "Myriam Scuttlebutt", and is a girl after all.

Yeah he does say objection, and the characters come crashing down into the speech bubble rather than being there straight away.

We knew PEGI 16 back at the initial English trailer, although that was probably provisional, and i'd doubt they'd give it a lower rating the the provisional.

EDIT: I've overhauled the main post, for better presentation.

That has to be a temporary voice for Simon Blackquill. He sounds like a German midget! And I thought it couldn't get worse than 'stereotypical Japanese evil voice #427'

This is great though. The principal looks really scary (and his last name is MEANS) and the writing seems to be okay from what little we've seen so far.

But what was that about Wright leaving a will?

Why would you say that?

I remember when they first showed off Mass Effect 3 and one of the first characters to speak (albeit a minor one) obviously just read through the script with little to no emotion.

One would think they could get at least one word right.

That's from the special scenario, it won't be in the final game. It's a demo to present the "3D" investigations and it uses scenery from case 2 but the actual script is specifically written for that demo.

Rated M, huh? Very interesting. I wonder what makes this one more mature than the previous games? Gameplay footage hasn't shown anything that I would consider M-rated, at least not yet.

Overall though, the game is looking good. I actually don't have a problem with Blackquill's voice myself, but I can see why people would expect it to be more intimidating. I definitely expected his voice to be a bit more like Manfred von Karma, but hearing it a few times, it does kinda fit him. Not every intimidating villain has to speak in an evil, deep voice.

Phew. That'd be even worse than what they did to Snake in Metal Gear Solid 2...

Still, what's up with Blackquill's voice? It simply has to be a placeholder. He doesn't have to have a super deep voice or sound like Satan himself but he could at least put some oomph into it. That and SOME kind of emotion - he looks like a slippery bastard, I say give him the voice of a slippery bastard.

You don't expect him to sound like a German midget, especially not with a face like this:

So what is there indicating that Myriam Scuttlebutt is a girl?

And I actually like the voice Blackquill has. Makes him sound manipulative and cunning, in some way.

M rating is interesting, but could be bad for sales. :/ I feel Nintendo will be less likely to promote it.. Granted Virtue's Last Reward did pretty well so I'll hold out hope.

I wonder if the murder scenes are simply that much more graphic with 3D that they had to ramp it up to M? Or language became a problem, but I don't quite see most AA characters swearing. Or perhaps the themes are more intense, whatever it is I'm really looking forward to this game.

That could indicate that Scuttlebutt might be in the same class as her or may be even part of the student council. After all, Rei Shizuya and Yumihiko Ichiyanagi wear the same uniform yet their professions are different.

Perhaps the name Myriam? I suppose it could be a guy, but with a name like Myriam I'm more inclined to think it's a female.

So I'm guessing that Principal Means is Headmaster Ichiro?

But for a game rated M, the language is still pretty mild. It's just the mass of spilled blood on the ground in Case 2.

I have no idea why the game is rated M instead of T. It's not like the blood being shown is a new feature. And I don't think the game would contain any "sexual" content so what gives?

And now I'm curious to see what Scuttlebutt looks like without the box. Makes me wonder why she (I'll refer to the student as a female) even had to hide her identity.

This is Awesome.

I don't mind the new voice for Blackquill because he always seemed a little more like the kind of sleazy, non-"classic" bad guy, like some of the guys on old cop shows. That said, it's not perfect; it almost sounds like what Edgeworth would sound like. (If they reveal Edgeworth's new voice and it isn't any good I'm going to be upset since this guy could've done it.

Hopefully there's still some new info (like release date) to be revealed at Comic-Con.
After going through a 6.5 month Ace Attorney Marathon, I have finally finished Dual Destinies.

I certainly won't be re-playing any of these games in the near future, but I really enjoyed the experience.

That's right actually, the only meaning i know of Myriam is tambourine. in Israel we call the tambourine "Myriam drum".

Okay, so I guess Myriam Scuttlebutt is indeed female. She's wearing a skirt, unless it's a guy who happens to like wearing the girl's uniform. But I still wonder why she's named Myriam in the first place.

And I suppose I should wait for Comic-Con for more information regarding Case 3.

Same here, honestly! Judging by the text, Professor Blackquill (Professor, after all) seems like a pretty well-spoken person, so the contrast between his voice and his demeanor is pretty fitting IMO.

YOU FREAKING IDIOTS, CAPCOM.

Why in the world would you rate this game M?!

Weren't they the ones who said "Oh you know, the series sell so bad because their audience is so specific, there's just not very much interest in this kind of games"?? And now they decided to NARROW THAT AUDIENCE DOWN? Don't they care about sales anymore? Because that's the dumbest move I can imagine! There are lots of AA fans who are under 18 (including me), and it must hurt them very bad. Since this game is digital only, there is no way you can buy it if you're not 18 yet! It's not like you'd be able to simply buy the retail version in a store, where nobody gives a crap about your age. Because you know, 7 year old kids buying GTA and Prototype is perfectly fine, but when you want to buy a videogame where a little blood is acceptable, because this game is about solving murders, they just say - nope, screw you. Go and eat some bircks if you're upset.

Whew. Good thing I live in Russia which is technically Europe, so I'll get this game like I planned to. But still, I'm full of pure rage. How dare they? That's just stupid, cruel and unfair. I feel really sad for all those people who won't get AA5 in time because Capcom are idiots.

Of course you can. It's even easier for underaged people to buy online than in a retail store.

Well... how? As far as I remember, when you register a 3DS, you register your age as well. So eShop confirms your age when you buy a game, does it not? I asked about this a person who owns both a 3DS and Wii U, so I trusted them on this. But in this case, I really hope they were wrong and you are right. I feel really confused right now.

My best guess is that there's harsher language and we'll probably be getting more graphic depictions of the violence, or it's just the 3D, it's much harder to imply the violence than with stills and the like, probably both.

Exactly. A little blood on the ground shouldn't be reason enough to give it such a rating. It makes me think that there's more violence hidden in the game than what is currently advertised on the site.

It's not a new thing for localization teams to redecorate certain scenes for the sake of censorship, but it seems they just left it the way it is and should be.

Nnnno. Being in 3D shouldn't matter in this case. It does, however, have animated scenes. I doubt the language would be any harsher, unless the localization team intends to follow through with expletives, which would be a stupid and pointless idea.
