Capcom has released the schedule for their events at this year's Jump Festa, which runs from December 19th to 20th. Among the schedule is two AA events: a stage show focused on Ace Attorney 6, and a show focused on the upcoming Ace Attorney anime. Both are listed as providing new info on their respective topics.

The two events will run consecutively from 12:30 JST to 13:15 JST on December 19th (10:30 PM EST on the 18th, for those in the states.) AA6 director Yamazaki and producer Eshiro will run the AA6 show, with Eshiro, Takumi, and the TBA anime director to appear during the anime portion (13:00-13:15.)

Related to this, expect new AA6 news in Famitsu that week or the week before, if DGS was any indication.

Ooh!? Takumi is involved with the anime-production somehow? What a relief :D

I should have expected this. Ace Attorney always goes to Jump Festa when something's in the pipeline.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no livestream for those stage shows, is there?

At the very least, we're getting a trailer for the game and the anime.

Probably not. He is explicitly there as the director of the original games, not because of any involvement with the actual production of the anime. Like with the majority of anime nowadays, I imagine the anime is being produced by something like a "Ace Attorney Anime Production Committee" (with interested parties like Capcom, the animation studio and the broadcast stations), but I doubt Takumi is connected to that on behalf of Capcom (Takumi had no involvement with the production of the film either for example).

Well, aside from some quiet cameos.

Funny thing about that. I recently listened to the Miike/Takumi audio commentary of the film. Takumi and other people from Capcom had a little excursion on the set, which is when they shot that cameo. Takumi was wearing a T-shirt at the time, when he noticed that all the other extras were wearing a lot of clothing. It was only after he asked why, he was reminded that the story was set around Christmas. And there he was in his T-shirt.

Man a stage show for Ace attorney 6 is nice. Good to hear about the anime as well. I'd forgotten they were making that.

I'm actually looking forward to the anime show more. I really want to see what animation style it adopts, what the premise will be, and what the voices might sound like.

However Ace Attorney 6's could also be good since it'll very likely introduce new characters (or announce returning ones).

I hope AA6 will have a moment when I know it's my sign to go media-blackout. I just want a bit more to get excited about but not be spoiled or get the wrong expectations like when they started promoting the cameos for AA5.

Ah, TBA, my favorite anime director! Seriously though, I've been wondering what was going to happen with that since I'm still very skeptical about it, so I'm anticipating the news for that one more. Not excited just anxious.

As for good ol' GS6, I hope they announce some new/returning characters, or maybe even what goes down with the first case. It's not too early for that, is it? :ron:

Shouldn't be too early, I expect a summer 2016 release date. That would be three years after AA5, so there was plenty of time to develop the new game.

I'd really like to see the animation style for the anime, since I assume it's about time for a trailer. As for AA6 I'd like to think we might learn who that mysterious shadow at the end of the last trailer was.

Actually, for most TV anime series, four months before broadcast is way too early for a trailer. They are usually released very close to the actual on-air season. Of course, Capcom might be do things differently from industry standards, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised if no trailer/teaser is revealed at all at Festa. Don't forget: this isn't a game. They don't need to create hype this early, nor get gamers to put in preorders for this, as it is already decided when/where it will be broadcast. They need people to know it's on, when it's on.

I wish we could! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like Capcom's livestreaming the show (they didn't last year, either.) That said when there are future live events - NicoNico Chou Kaigi next year will almost certainly have AA6 shows - we'll definitely be streaming those.

I'm gonna feel so old when AA5, the "new one", will be three years old next year. I cannot believe that by that time, I'd have been a fan for about five years. Do you think they will get around to releasing a physical release with more translations now that Capcom has its stuff better in order than in 2013 or will it be released digital only, also hopefully with multiple translations?

One thing I want is the option to switch from English to Japanese, just like the trilogy.

Yeah, trailer are not shown early for one good reason: production isn't far enough for them to have enough material for a trailer. They can go work on specific scenes in order to get the trailer on the road, but no idea if the Ace Attorney is important enough to warrant such a treatment (I doubt it).

Then again, I am expecting some sort of trailer with mostly cut-ins of the various characters, a few seconds of actual footage, generic AA music, and lots of filler (like "From the creators of blablabla").

By the way, I forgot who made the animation for AA5? Wouldn't surprise me if they went with the same studio.

You mean Bones? I hear they're pretty darn good, based on the several anime they've produced.

Think they did Space Dandy and that was visually really interesting.

They used to be pretty good back then, but they're a bit hit-or-miss nowadays. Their production values areusually very good, though, just like how Space Dandy's visuals at least looked really neat.
