Earlier today, Famitsu revealed a new Taiko Drum Master for the Nintendo 3DS, called Taiko Drum Master: Dokodon! Mystery Adventure. You might be wondering "Why's this posted on an Ace Attorney forum, then?". Well... it turns out the game will have a collaboration with the Ace Attorney series.

And not just a medley of popular songs (apparently from AA1 to 3), looks like Pheonix will be one of the partners for the RPG-like mode.

It seems like more games lately have been trying to add Phoenix into action-oriented games. That is difficult, considering what he does. This one may be a rhythm game, but it's now part RPG for some reason.

Well, TDM has usually had a good selection of vg music, so it's great that they're adding in AA now.

...But why an RPG...

Taiko no Tatsujin has featured an RPG mode for many years now actually. I know it from the third DS game, but I think it was introduced in the second one on the DS. It's actually quite fun (works kinda like Mother 3's system).

Hmm, I do like Taiko no Tatsujin, but a purchase really depends on the overall playlist.

Good to know. I just watched a sample play with one of the bosses. Seems pretty of the norm to me as far as RPGs in a rhythm game go. I do find it odd that sometimes the song doesn't end before the boss goes down, but I guess it might be a little tricky to manage them at the same time unless specifically programmed to do so.

Well, imo a playlist with Ace Attorney music is rarely ever bad, but aside from that, I'm curious about the other songs too...

As much as I love Taiko no Tatsujin & Ace Attorney, I do find it hard to justify a purchase for myself if I'm only interested in one song. And as of now, the only song announced in Famitsu that interests me is really just the AA Medley. The game does feature both paid and free DLC apparently, so songs that do interest me might still pop up.
