The Layton series is making its way to Switch with Layton's Mystery Journey DX, a port of Layton's Mystery Journey for mobile/3DS. The game was announced for release in Japan on August 9th in Famitsu magazine, and includes new features for Switch such as updated controls and a 'puzzle-solving charm' that connects to the game via NFC.

No word yet on a Western release, but given that the game already has an English translation and has been available to English on mobile/3DS, I would expect it to make its way over to the West soon after its Japanese release.

Huh, seems interesting. I wonder if they'll port the rest of the Layton series to the Switch as well. Maybe even Mystery Room?

It might just be my device, but those images aren't loading for me.

Edit: C/ping the links work for me though. Whoa, the 3D Models look cool! Maybe it's just me, but they appear more HD to me here.

Honestly I’d much rather see a brand new Layton game that fixes the poor puzzle design of LMJ than to see this game get rehashed.

Bleh, no need to pick this up again. Hopefully we get the original games on switch though.

I’m curious as to how they’ll do the touchscreen-dependent puzzles.

The images don't work for me even in a new tab, it says the website doesn't allow hotlinking.

I do hope this means ports for the rest of the games in the series to Switch. Also to mobile so there's some hope for PLvsAA there.

Ahh this is exciting!
(Lucky I didn't buy it on mobile or 3DS yet)
I hope the switch in handheld mode has touch screen support. (Or all their work on the past devices would go to waste)
