Phoenix Wright's songs are more memorable, while Hotel Dusk's seems more quiet and less intense. I would have to go with Phoenix Wright. :phoenix:

For PW, I simply LOVE the Jazz Soul arrangements. It's ironic how those songs beat Miles Davis himself for me. :godot:

For HD, they have a bit more emotion, mystery and are more fitting to the situations than the PW ones.

If I used the original in-game PW songs, HD beats 'em, but if I compare HD to the orchestrated or Jazzy PW, PW wins.

HD's music is more beautiful and sad and it has so much more layers of depth and emotion. (Although if I hear Metronome one more time I am going to punch someone's lights out). PW's music is catchier (anyone ever try to sing Secrets?). In short, PW is daytime music and music to show to your friends, HD is music to fall asleep to if you want lovely Hotel Dusk dreams.

I know, it's a bit old.

I'd say that HD has better tracks overall. However PW has quite a few gems. To me, both of their corresponding soundtracks are pretty mood-setting. Moveover, I agree with what Meenyman said-- PW has more memorable tracks, while with HD, it's there. Like, it's pretty, but it's not its biggest asset. Well, neither is it in PW, but...

Listening to the PW and AJ songs in many different variations and adaptions (Cadenza, Orchastrated, Piano, Guitar), you get a really good sense as to the integrity of PW's score. Even from the most produced level --the orchestrated-- to a basic piano rendition, the songwriting itself remains distinct and intact. I've always measured good songwriting by it's ability to withstand that kind of arbitration, and thats something the PW soundtrack can do really well. The core melodies are very strong and memorable. At a technical standpoint, I suppose on the DS/GBA they could use some work, but as compositions they are timeless and heartfelt. As we can hear from the Last Window remixes, you can easily say the same about HD. When you listen to the new versions you get a really good idea about how versatile, yet concrete, the songs are. When I first played LW and saw Kyle standing in front of the door to Cape West the same way he did in HD and hearing the remix of "The Long Night" I really gained an appreciated for how well defined the songwriting is. The remix of "The Long Night" and many others give subtle hints to their predecessors that leave you wanting to hear the original yet keeping you captivated by the freshness of the new arrangement. What ties both together and allows the songs to be altered so effectively are again, those core melodies which are second to none in each series. I guess what I'm trying to say is that both soundtracks are phenomenal from a songwriting point of view. If we limit our options to the technical capabilities of the DS/GBA I would go with HD because it sounds a little more musical to me, but at the same time the potential of both soundtracks is almost limitless so I could only make a decision by comparing what is coming out of the DS speakers. All that said, It's completely a matter of preference as to what you like more, but its also good thing to keep in mind that these songs were all brilliantly composed and are nothing less than art.

Dusk by far.

Especially the music in Last Window. No AA song will ever beat this.

Very difficult question...but I must say that Dusk wins me over.

I love the pounding action music of the Ace Attorney Series, and the swaggering vibes of AAI...but Dusk's music is...beautiful. I mean, I can hear them in my head crystal clear. I can still gleam the emotion the piece is meant to portray. It gives me good memories, and sad memories. Of the game.

I do absolutely love the PW music but I think my vote will have to go to Hotel Dusk.
PW music is awesome whereas HD music is beautiful.

I like most of Ace Attorney's music more, although Hotel Dusk's music is really good, but most of it are sad songs, and I prefer upbeat songs, like the Pursuit themes in Ace Attorney.

PW. As much as I like the Dusk music, it doesn't compete for me.

They have very different styles.

Hotel Dusk is more like "Aaaahh...". Very relaxing, and jazzy.

Ace Attorney is most often "Fuck yeah let's do thiiiiiis!!!". It does have its share of serene tunes, but it's pretty much epic music all the way.

I'd have to say Ace Attorney (any).

Best way to describe PW music, ever. :edgy:

Still lovin' Dusk. Actually the sequel's music is even better.

I think I'll try playing some of the tunes on my sax and see what happens. :godot:

I enjoyed both game's songs, though I'd have to go with PW music. Idk why, but I just like it more :yuusaku:

The Hotel Dusk music does stick, and it sets the mood for the game well, and there were some tracks I really liked. But of all the games I've played, the one (or seven) with the best soundtrack is Ace Attorney, and I often listen to a lot of the songs.

So I say PW.
