Louis. Has knowledge of wine, can put up with the ssassiest woman that you could ever meet (Rosa). Also, used to be a pickpocket, is a deadbeat freeloading bum. Far less annoying than Larry, is actually helpful to Kyle, even getting him out of hairy situations, also he is a good bowler.

Larry is not only a lousy artist, but he is also a whiner, lazy (go figure), and that he wasn't really helpful at all. Just someone who gets in the way. The only thing good about him over Louie is that he wears a cooler jacket, even though that his personality does not suit what he wears.

My vote goes to Louie of course.

During the game I was thinking "Wow Louie is the Larry of Hotel Dusk!"
I can't really pick between them, I love the funny characters and they're both funny.
I guess Louie, since he bowls with you in the hallway.

I don't see how you can even compare the two, and I never really thought of Louie as a loser. In fact, I kinda admired him for getting on his feet after his pal died. Larry on the other hand has almost no redeeming qualities, and I basically want to punch him every time he shows up.

What's wrong with picking both?

As much as I love Larry, Louie is just the better character.

Louis was an idiot...up until the bar opened up. From there you gain a whole new level of respect for his character. Larry's an idiot forever. Louis for character development.

I just beat Hotel Dusk today, and I enjoyed every second of it! (Despite the fact that I suck so badly at puzzles that I needed a walkthrough.)

Anyway, Louie wins for the reasons other people said, but to recap:

-Louie has a real backstory, and you can feel for him, while Larry's problems are mostly self-inflicted.

-Louie, even when everything goes south, moves on and makes a new start, where Larry can't handle a single harsh word and cries at the drop of a hat.

-Louie's way of speech is awesome.

-He asked Hyde about giving Mila CPR. He's a slimeball like that, but in a likable kind of way.

Hyde: "Louie, you're an idiot."
Yeah. I lol'd at that part.

-Did Larry ever bowl with you in a hallway? No. Or did I miss something?

I'll probably get mauled here, but Larry definetly.

Louis may have been helpful but he didn't interest me as much. Louis was only really funny because Kyle was there to bounce off him. I still like him though.

I prefer Louis, he has a heart there somewhere, is helpful at times and does not make a bad bartender, he has dreams man! Larry is just a loser really.

B-But Larry was helpful! He saved the case twice. Twice! The most Louis did was...

I really don't think Louie is THAT much of an idiot. He just chooses to make cheesy, sometimes pervy jokes -- you know that he's actually much deeper than that, and that he's been through a lot. Larry's only redeeming quality for his idiocy is comic relief. Very obnoxious comic relief.
... I also have Louie to thank for putting the word "trip" into my vocabulary (:

I wanted to kill Larry in PW. He's just so annoying.

But I also agree that it isn't a fair comparison, Larry is such a basic character where the cast of PW is a lot larger than the cast in Hotel Dusk, which means all the characters from Hotel Dusk are at least developed.
