A lot of people seem to prefer Phoenix since Kyle is so mean, but I think that's what makes him so likeable. He's cold at the beginning and then turns into a softie.

Arg, it's very hard to pick! They both great characters, but for their own reasons.

Hmm, depends. I like Nick overall since, well, he's just more entertaining. But Kyle has the better character. You just kind of want to dig deeper into his past.

I prefer Hyde. As much as Phoenix is lovable, that's his only character trait - the underdog protagonist we've seen in loads of games/shows/movies before. Hyde on the other hand, has a real attitude and you can tell it's not a cheap character trait. He's been through a hell of a lot and that's why he acts the way he does.

Well put! Hyde has definitely went through a lot, and he's all the more cooler for acting the way he does.

But Phoenix vs. Hyde based purely on looks, I'd go with Hyde.
I can't say for personality or game since I haven't played Phoenix Wright.

Kyle Hyde! Nothing against Nick.. He's a good character and all. But Kyle was just always my favorite out of the two.

Kyle for some of the best lines in the game. The "talking blimp" quote still makes me :gant:

Plus I like the art in Hotel Dusk much more than in Ace Attorney, so that probably makes me a little biased, but whatever~

Both Kyle and Phoenix have a great sense of humor. I mean, it's more of a sarcastic and ironic kind of humor.

But between the two I choose Kyle, simply because he's more shady and blue than the happy-go-lucky Feenie.

Besides, I like it when Kyle is mean. :godot:

You're right - :hobohodo: is defenitely the coolest character in the AA series, but I still think Kyle beats him.

No competition for me, Phoenix wins. I'm basing this on who I'd personally like to know as a person. Kyle is cool and all, but I dunno if I'd necessarily get on with him. Phoenix is a goofball, I know we would be good friends :gant:

I think it's when he meets Summer for the umpteenth time.

"Oh no, here comes the talking blimp."

I guess Summer has a large build, so Kyle calls him a blimp...? Strange wording, but hilarious nonetheless.

They have their own pros and cons, of course. And it depends on the situation.

Kyle does better case work, but Phoenix has a flair for the dramatic; even if he doesn't want a part of it.

Personally, I prefer Kyle, as he's more realistic.

Some time ago, I would be all "LOL WTF PHOENIX IS DA SHIT 'CAUSE HE BEATS EVR1 IN DA COURTROM" but seriously, as much as I like Phoenix, I have to admit Kyle is better. His character, his personality, it's way more "real" than Phoenix's. Wright is a very "noble" and "hero-like" type of guy, the kind of guy we find every 1 out of 30, and sorry for the way I'm going to put this, but it's too "mainstream". Kyle, even if he does have a heart of gold deep inside, is way off the "hero standards" what with his "I hate life" way of living. It makes him sound much more like a normal guy, and it's way easier to relate to him without stretching.

All in all, Kyle beats Phoenix, but Phoenix beats every other character.

I don't like to choose, but if I HAD to, Kyle Hyde :sadshoe: Sorry Phoenix, but though you may be kind, compassionate and a good lawyer, Kyle comes up on top. He just feels more real to me as a character, and to me, he just seems much cooler in so many ways :jake:

In LW he's too melodramatic and poetic all the time. I hated his monologue in that game.

Kyle is such an interesting character in Hotel Dusk, so I choose him. I love his grumpyness too.

In LW he's too melodramatic and poetic all the time. I hated his monologue in that game.

Phoenix! First of all he's kinder. And funnier, his inner monologue is gold sometimes and he's got more self-distance. He's not as pushy as Kyle either, and you get to know him better. I'd rather have him as a friend than Kyle. Kyle... he's a fun guy, but I found him unnecessarily rude sometimes. He grew on me though, and became less stiff. Later on he showed a kinder side of himself but I never really got if it was his character development or if that was what he was like all the time. Now, I did end up liking Kyle, that rare big smile of his made me happy, he's fun, as I said, and after Phoenix Wright and Tendo Dokuta in Lifesigns it was nice with a ever-so-serious and gruff narrator for a change. He was somewhat ambigious but I didn't dislike him, neither as a "person" nor as a character, I just can't relate to him.

I actually loved Kyle's asshole side; he took no shit from anybody, which is more than I could say for Phoenix, who might be one of the biggest pushovers ever

Though, I prefer Phoenix for the reasons you listed. Plus, I think Phoenix is funnier and just more admirable, while also remaining relatable

Phoenix, definitely Phoenix. I barely play Hotel Dusk, because I don't have it and whenever I'm at a friend's house and they have Hotel Dusk, I just can't help it. But I literally grew up with the PW-series, so it's Phoenix.
