I mostly ask this because while working on a soundtrack choice for the doujin my fianceé and I are doing, Bright Crystal came up as what I've unofficially announced as its theme song with her. In short, it's been on repeat for about three-four weeks now, even when I went to NYC for a week.

I actually didn't like the music of Hotel Dusk so much. It sounded too much like elevator music to my ears. *shot*

That's a fair assesment, considering the theme of the game. The music may not have been to some's liking, but it fit with each scene, and that gave it a fair shot at being graded a high score in terms of soundtrack.

That's a shame, though. I suppose you have to have a taste for Blues/Jazz to really enjoy the set presented. Do you at least agree that the music fit well to the scenes? (I'm not pressuring the idea. Just curious because it was something I really adored about the scores they came up with.)

Well there might have been maybe one music that didn't sound so much like elevator music to my ears, but I can't say which one. The music didn't annoy me but I didn't really like about 99 % of it either. It was more like music that is great on the background, but don't really catch my interest.


Actually, I think the songs fit in the game perfectly. I was just expecting some tracks I would really like. Maybe it's because I don't like about blues that much.

Not in my top 3 but it doesn't stop the effect of that song. The wholse basement scene freaked me the Hell out.

My Goodness, if there was ever a way to musically embody the spirits of loneliness and despair, then The Last Sleep was that song.

The only thing wrong with that track is that it doesn't include the footsteps. That totally fulfilled the moment.

I love Secrets (I always seem to have a soft spot for piano ballads in VGs >_>;) The Last Sleep is lovely too, and added a damned big suspension to Kyle's basement adventure.

I luv On the Rocks too, but the MP3 file of the track is a bit too low in volume (Is it supposed to~?) And Violet Sky is <333

I always loved the Hotel Dusk music! It made it feel more like a book you added music to, rather than a video game. Because there wasn't annoying sprite music that eventually gets on your nerves xD But it is annoying... You can't deny it. Anyways, the music in this game is the absolute best! Also the Trace Memory music as well... Anyways, here's my favorite's in order!

All the songs are nice, but these ones make me stop tapping the screen and just listening for a bit... Or saving a file near the juke box so I can have access to most of the songs xD

OMG, the soundtrack from this game was so amazing. Every song fits so well. Its hard to choose three...I love them all so much. But here I guess it is...

1: Resolution. I love the way that it just kicks in before each of the "interrogation" bits. Really gets me going.
2: Bright Crystal. Beautiful song, I just wsh that the game developers could have started playing the music at some more suitable parts of the conversation.
3: The Last Sleep. Although I agree with the comments about the footsteps...they really added alot. And that scene in the hidden painting room where you piece everything together was just so perfect...

I've been on such a jazz/blues hook lately. All because of this game. =D It's hard to pick just three, but...

1. The Last Sleep (Like everyone else said, the footsteps would have made it even better. That whole basement part FREAKED ME OUT in the best way possible.)

You're right, you can't only pick three. That's why I'm picking eight (no order): Hangover Blues, High Spirits, Hotel Dusk, Serenity, Easy Feeling, Straight Chaser, Rainy Night, and Desert Highway. I thought these songs also did pretty well to cover a majority of the game's overall mood.

I just played/completed this game for the first time a few days ago. I had never played it, but I was lucky to get Gamestop's last copy the day I went to buy Apollo Justice. I had always thought I'd enjoy the game, just never got around to buying it until this recently, and I was fortunate to even get a copy I bet. The music was a plesant surprise--all of it was really good. The above are just some favorites.

Huge fan of the Hotel Dusk OST, pretty much my no. 1 video game album in terms of listens currently.

It is WAY too hard pick my top three but Easy Feeling is definitely my favourite, other ones I really like being Straight Chaser, Rainy Night, Violet Sky, Play It Again (I found the "question time" sequences with this and Midnight interchanging funny as hell for some reason), Slow Steps and Over Easy.

2. So Noted- See above. When I first paused the game and heard this coming out of the speakers, I was just blown away, smiling uncontrollably. I knew right away that this game was going to be AMAZING (of course, the game's opening helped me come to that conclusion, too).
3. Violet Sky-So uplifting...
