Kyle Hyde is one of the most badass protagonists to spawn video games in quite a while. Breaking into offices, decoding complex messages, busting down walls with sledge hammers, boosting equipments from under people's noses, and even smooth talking the ladies, Kyle Hyde is simply da man, if you will. Best of all, he DOESN'T smoke!

I agree, he is indeed one of the most interesting and original game protagonist to come around in a long, long time. He seems so much more real then most game characters.

How do you know he doesn't smoke?

There's nothing to suggest that he does. We can only judge a person by what we see of them. From what we've seen of Kyle in Hotel Dusk, we can come to the conclusion that he doesn't smoke.

It seems many characters are smoking in anime and games as of late. It creates a sexy bad-boy image thats pretty popular.

Kyle seems to be the type that, if he did smoke, he'd be lighting up often, and wherever the hell he wanted to. I think we would've seen him taking a drag at various times throughout the game, especially out on the roof.

I'd say Badass, while he gets the job done he isn't Rambo or anything of the sort and does need the help of others. He knows his way around people, how to get them to talk, get what he needs. But he can't always fly solo, Louie, Rosa, and other guest help him out of some jams that he would have to turn back at.

So while he is still a badass, he isn't too BADASS, which in my opinion is a good thing.

I'm so used to seeing badass Kyle being badass Kyle. Makes it harder to get used to his sweeter side.

Ofcourse he's badass. There is no one else that can see things in paperclips as Kyle.

I don't think I've ever seen a more BADASS character anywhere. Marche's right, not even Snake.
That's why, when his grin (not huge smile) animation shows up, I don't think he's grinning. I picture him thinking "Now that I've won your confidence, I've got you where I wanted". He's always planning ways of being even more BADASS, if that's possible.

So yes, definitely BADASS.

Yeah, but he does drink. Probably a lot from my understanding.

But he does know not to overdo it. He's the kind of guy who wouldn't binge drink normally, but would still drink enough to get wrecked on a particularly bad night (i.e. Thinking about Bradley pre-Dusk).
