The answer is kind of surprising: because GS4 was sold really well. 480 thousand sets were sold out in three weeks, and 600 thousand sets until now. It's the best selling game in the whole series. Although GS4 is satisfying on selling and got 36 score from FAMI, which means GS4 is good enough to be listed as a platinum produce. However, from the angel of the players, especially the old fans, GS4 is not that good, or at least not better than the previous ones. To make GS5 have a richer system and an awesome story, CAPCOM stopped the producing of GS5 provisionally and turned to the spin off game GK from last July. Here are two different guesses: 1,Shu Takumi has left CAPCOM as rumors said, so CAPCOM had to do some practice on the spin off game before the new team taking over GS5. 2,Takumi is trying to add something gorgeous in GS5 and he has to take his time to do it well. Magazine will deliver more information about GS game later, so please wait patiently.

oh right, two producers doesn't mean two teams...
But if there is only 1 team, even if Shu Takumi left the only one who needs practice would be the new producer. The rest of the team can continue so probably GS5 wouldn't need to be delayed for too long.

Here comes the rumor mill yet again but actually i'll be glad if its true, I'd rather let the GS5 team take there time to make it into hopefully a brillant game than to rush it and make an average GS5.

I really doubt this rumor is true. It half indicates that the mention by Capcom's president about GS5 being greenlighted was a mistake, but that was made back in May, when GS4 was still selling like crazy. There would have been no reason at that time not to make GS5.

And even if Takumi did leave (not the first time I've heard that rumor, but I can't remember where it might have been mentioned before...) there's still Matsukawa and Nuri. They ought to be working on *something.*

If they take their time with GS5 and make it great, all the better. But I don't trust any rumor that originates on a forum and has no stated source.

I still think there are two producing groups...if GS5 was really paused, the only reason I can see is rewriting script like what CAPCOM did on Resident Evil 1.5. I don't believe Takumi has left ...well, CAPCOM always do something unexpected,but still...

Anyway, it's nothing more than a rumor.

I can't say one way or the other if the rumor is true or false. But from a marketing standpoint, it makes sense to Hold back GS5 for GK1. The worst thing you could do is have two products for the same platform launching at roughly the same time, (Sans Pokémon-type games). Customers with less cash would have to choose between the two titles, and then when they have money again, they look to the next new title.

If anything I'd say that GS5's got a less strict release schedule.
