Alrighty, I'm going to clean this up a bit!

Welcome to the new and updated thread on Casemakers, Fangames, and other interesting Fanprojects.
I am aware that there is already a page on this, but it seems to be outdated and very low on the thread list. With the consent of the creators, I am making this page, and will update it whenever it is requested by the creators themselves. Remember, this is a fan "PROJECTS" page as well, so sprite comics, a credible group for remixes, or anything else Phoenix Wright related. Please be sure that you have a page of your works if it is not a game or casemaker. I unfortunately cannot add you on this page for having a few fanart pieces or a few remixes.

If you are anxious to get started, but don't know how to, here's a very detailed guide made by Tap: http://www.forums.court-records.net/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=17839

If you are having troubles with a certain casemaker, or have any questions, please ask here, or on the official topic of the casemaker. Do not create new topics, as this clutters up the forum and is probably quite annoying to the mods and admins who work hard to run this forum.

Now, for the main event:

The Casemakers

PWLib wrote:
PWLib/AIGE

AIGE, or the Anime Image Game Engine is an advanced game maker that uses PWLib or the Phoenix Wright Library as its base for making Phoenix Wright games. It features near perfect emulation of almost every function of an official Phoenix Wright game, and with the upcoming PWLib 1.2 Mio update, many more functions and updates will be added to advance the program with the official games. The programming language is slightly difficult to understand as a beginner, but any questions you may have will be answered by either the creator, KSA_Tech, or by PWLib In A Nutshell, a tutorial designed to cover all aspects of PWLib scripting.

PyWright is a visually pleasing casemaker that cuts back on perfect emulation, but substitutes with easier coding. Although perfect emulation is not focused on with Pywright, it does support everything necessary for a standard Phoenix Wright game. Like PWLib, it supports many, many functions, and it also has interesting functions such as automatic text speed adjustments, where a comma or period will slow down text to make the speech seem more human. It also has simple keyboard hotkeys for things like the Court Record, and Save/Load. Assistance is offered through saluk directly or through the official CR thread for PyWright.

A tutorial for those interested in making a game in Pywright. The Turnabout Awesome series is a (so far) three part series designed to help rookie coders learn to write in Pywright. They explains everything simply in layman's terms so that even somebody with no programming experience should be able to learn from them. The perfect place to start if you're looking to make a game, but have no idea how to write it.

The first tutorial can be found in the "Pywright Tutorial" thread on this very forum. It covers the basics, such as starting up your new game and writing very basic scenes. It has several pictures, to show how everything should look. The second and third are downloadable and interactive. They cover more intermediate material and are a good place to look once you've familiarized yourself with the stuff in the first.

*officially approved and tested by Saluk himself, creator of Pywright

The first tutorial (text/pictures only) - viewtopic.php?f=36&t=27314&p=1205721#p1205721

The second and third tutorials (interactive) - http://www.mediafire.com/download/z651y ... torial.zip

Creator: Ropfa
Program: Pywright
Current version: 1.0
Newest update announced: Due to updates to Pywright, the perceive section in the third tutorial is outdated and must be changed. Updates will be made, depending on how much difficulty people are having with various concepts. Feedback is greatly appreciated, to have this give the best learning experience possible.

Ace Attorney Online wrote:
Ace Attorney Online

Ace Attorney Online is a creative casemaker that allows the creation of cases and makes them playable online. Close to, but not exact emulation is offered, but creation of cases are very simple. Music and sounds are supported, and programming in new evidence, profiles, and characters is very simple. As for now, there are quite a few cases for this casemaker, and the list grows all the time.

With the addition of an intimidating new prosecutor and a sarcastic slacker of a detective, Phoenix unwittingly stumbles upon a series of killings that somebody doesn't want solved, secrets that somebody doesn't want uncovered, people that somebody doesn't want to talk -- somebody who is pulling all the strings of an elaborate behind-the-scenes conspiracy for vengeance, power and control...

Taking place two years after the events of Turnabout Succession, Apollo has been living the good life. Well, as good as you can get, considering his "boss" is as eccentric piano-playing, poker-cheating Machiavellian schemer (his daughter fairing no better); his cases filled with complication after complication, and his former mentor...

Well, we don't talk about him these days.

But that all changes when he takes a seemingly simple case of a high judge and sets in motion a chain of events that threaten to ruin Apollo and all those he holds dear...

Obviously, Dual Destinies is not in continuity here.

Taking place several months after the events of Spirit of Justice, Phoenix finds himself alone when he takes a rather strange -- and extremely hopeless case. With an uncooperative defendant, a staggering amount of evidence supporting the police's case, and a prosecutor that clearly has it in for him, how will Phoenix turn things around? Is there even any room for doubt?

Where does the truth lie?

In the hearts of the key players, all with their own secrets and motives?

Between the trees of the dense forest, the scene of a horrific murder?

Or perhaps, in the mythical city of gold that seems to be the connecting factor between the strange circumstances of the case -- El Dorado?

This topic is good :butzthumbs:

Some GS Platformer corrections:
-Game Maker updated to version 8
-Gameplay heading heavily towards Castlevania like gameplay rather than Megaman
-The project will be rebooted in the next few months if everything goes as planned
-The old topic about the fangame is going to be closed and new created when a new version is out

You're moving to Castlevania? Aww, I liked Megaman a lot. It seemed like an actual Capcom crossover.

But great to know it's being rebooted.

By the way, Paper, I'm finishing the logo for RM, and I'll send you everything. I think I'm kinda ready for bumping my latest thread...

@Steel Samurai: Thanks, I'm glad you like it, and since I like Mega Man and Castlevania games equally, I'm still excited about the crossover. Thanks for the corrections, I'll change them right now. Please let me know whenever you'd like any information updated.

@DeMatador: That sounds good, if you send me the information when it's ready, I'll be happy to make the changes.

Yeah the gameplay is moving heavily towards Castlevania mainly because Megaman would simply get too boring in the game.

BTW, sorry Matador ^-^'

That is true. BTW, could you put in GS Platformer's creator's title in brackets: "Very Melon/GMC"? Very Melon is my Game Maker Community's username and my common internet name so :p

Yeah, just requesting that both this thread be updated so that people don't think that LuAA is an engine that can only be played using a flashcard by itself...

This was a common misconception since I announced AADS. LuAA is fully compatible on the computer; it doesn't require the player to port their games from the PC to the DS.

no$gba/DeSmuME are both emulators (supported on Windows/Linux/Mac OSX) that work perfectly fine with LuAA. I don't want people thinking that they would have to go out of their way to port every single case; that would be chaotic! Not to mention having to use load the game onto their flashcards to test them every time they wanted to.

Also, would it be possible to add that LuAA is now capable of everything EXCEPT for Psychelocks/Mason System/Perceive?

Thanks ^^

!_!

You're right! I didn't even realize that the thread still said that. I fully knew that this function was possible, but I guess I didn't update it, apologies.

I'll make the changes immediately.

Haha we'll see. At first place this was supposed to be a funny platformer based on the cases of T&T but since there's gonna be dialogue scenes (with me acting half the cast), it's a fine idea to consider it to become a AA/Megaman/Castlevania crossover-game in more ways than graphics and controls.

I'll see what I can do :butzthumbs:

Control programming is about 50% complete, I've been trying to make it like Castlevania Symphony of the Night -Richter. When programming is all done I'm gonna start editing sprites.

Die Monster. You don't belong in this courtroom!

Ah, Symphony of the Night, what a great game.

One question, can you only have one project per person on this list? I'll prepare the details for my main focus in the mean time.

Author:  papermario13689 [ Tue Jan 12, 2010 11:47 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: The PW Fangames/Casemakers Thread! Add Your Project Now!

As for right now, I am only allowing one per person. Many people do not have multiple projects, and it would be unfair to allow a few to have multiple. I suggest you pick your best project for this page.

Thanks!
