Turnabout Confusion is an up and coming fancase written in the PyWright. This case is planned to be longer than the currently longest PyWright Case, Turnabout Substitution by Ping. It is set parallel to the PW trilogy, and takes place in an alternate yet similar universe after 3-5 (for plot reasons), when Phoenix Wright never lost his badge.

Spoiler: "Story"
After a brutal murder in the famous Cafe Liddamind and several months without a single trial, Phoenix Wright is suddenly thrust into a case full of complexity and dark secrets. A simple case at first, until it begins to show its true colors. Along the way, Phoenix must unravel the past of many new characters, such as the rookie detective Gretta Danllo, and the hot diva in red, Rosa Redd, as well as revisiting many of the past characters he has met. Can Phoenix find the truth, or will he ever be caught in the snaring trap that is confusion?

This case will be released in 7 parts and will show the fact that I really love being ambitious for my first project :godot:

Spoiler: "Progress"
As of November 6, 2016, progress:

Part: Day One
Planning: 100%
Coding: 98%
Sprite-work: 95%
Music Choice: 100%

The first part is coming along really well. With plot inconsistencies and bugs being fixed, and as well as some parts getting rewrites (some small, others a total rehaul) and even spriting, I intend to release part one sometime no later than December. Get hyped!

Spoiler: "Credits"
DragonTrainer for the Roxanne Traynor (Rosa Redd) sprites
HessehlDahl for the Gretta Danllo sprites
Blizdi for converting the GIFS to Spritesheet form
Ropfa for his Pywright Tutorial and fot motivation!
Saluk for creating PyWright
Outbreak95 for Betatesting
DudeWithAMask for Betatesting and plot assistance
Darth Wiader for reminding me that Court-Records isn't a rat race for release. (Or is that what he WANTS me to think? Hmm...)
Will "Willbits" White for art guidance and advice. Check his YouTube and Twitch out!
Kaedalus (YT) for letting me use his investigation music. Thanks, man! (linky below.)
Argent (YT) for his CSI Investigation music.
Aled Cannon (YT) for his Mysterious Murder music
myfistoinyofaceo (YT) for the jazz music.
DrFoster for composing some music for the case. Most prominently, Gretta's theme and Phoenix alone at the office
court-records.net for supporting (and doubting) me :sillytrucy:

Spoiler: "The New Music"
01 - Cafe Liddamind - A Date To Remember (original)
02 - Rosa Redd - The Diva in Red (original)
04 - Gretta Danllo - Investigator's Instinct (original)
05 - Investigation Fault 1014 (original)
Turnabout Confusion - [insert intro title here] by DrFoster
A Day At The Office - Phoenix Alone by DrFoster
Eccentric - Are You Sure That's Right? by DrFoster
Gretta Danllo - Greater Than You! by DrFoster

Spoiler: "Original Post for historic reasons."
Hi guys. I am currently in the process of writing a PyWright case. I have set the goal for myself quite high: for Turnabout Confusion to be longer than Turnabout Substitution. Yes, I know what you're thinking: "You madman! That's impossible!" "Why don't you go back to your Lego's, kid?" "Is this guy a noob?" "I like pie!!!"

Put your pitchforks down, people. I know how to use PyWright. I have gotten used to it in between school time and my own time. Anyway, case facts!

Story: A brutal murder in a cafe involving several knives, a hit 'n' run incident with a detective, an escaped con artist, and a wicked diva in the middle of it all. A connection only Phoenix Wright would only find. As Phoenix wonders what is true law and justice, he must fight one of the biggest court battles of all time. But he's not alone. With the help of Maya Fey (now a fully trained spirit medium!), Detective Gumshoe, Miles Edgeworth, and even Larry Butz, can Phoenix unravel this case's mysteries and dark secrets? Or...will the dark age of the law prevail over the light of justice?
Planning: 100%
Sprites: 3%
Music: 45%
Writing: 1%
Reduced Milk Fat: 2% :p

This case will be divided into 7 parts, or Days. As of planning, there are 8 investigative parts, 14 court parts, 5 reminisce parts and more than 12 new characters.

No I did NOT forget Draco Pitelli. You can consider this case a prelude to it, though! Also, first DL link whenever because I am awesome :godot:
I like it, it's simple like the canon games' logos.
Do you have any other previews you can show? The more of s work you can show, the more people would be willing to help

Thanks, and one thing I noticed in your preview is that you still had the Phoenic nametag over the phone message.

Why dont you fix it, then spoiler hyperlink it into the OP?

Gee, a case longer than Substitution? I see we have a determinator here.

On that note, do you really want something that big to be your first project? It would be better if you started out with something smaller.

Second project, but I believe I can do it. I'd had a lot of practice with PyWright, and I believe I can manage to keep everyone in character. Doubter, or Supporter?

Sorry for double post!

I need somebody who can use the gif2strip tool. Or at least, someone who can put sprites in a spritesheet. I can do the animation txt, but I can't do it manually. Thanks in advance.

So I have good news regarding this project! As it is coming along well, (I have approximately 1/5 of the first investigative part done, with so far one psyche lock from rookie detective, Gretta Danllo.) I will be able to work on this a lot more during my spring break! I've been working on this almost every day after school and on weekends, with some breathers in between of course! When I'm done rewriting my evidence.txt file and the investigative part, I can put up a public beta. It'll probably be out... Late March, early April? Mainly because I'm trying to make this seem as authentic as possible to the real games.

Also, I have briefly considered putting my stuff on Google Drive, so people could see my progress and lively edit it. It would only be a select few, of course, but at the very least I'd have a cloud-saved backup.

Anywho, stay tuned!

Oy vey. While im glad to see other people have tried, it's a bit discouraging knowing that someone tried and failed. But I'm not gonna cancel it when its 50% done. Probably when its 98% mwahaha :karma:

Also, to note, this is probably the first PyWright case to be developed by a 14 year old on an Android phone :wellington:

Oh I have many different ideas for this case. One, I'm bringing Luminol spraying back! Two, using an audio tape as evidence! (By (ab)using PyWright's timer command, I should be able to do this...in theory?)

And maybe colored psyche-locks? Or...no? Also, I'm planninh for a little minigame thingy, just not sure what it would be or where i'd implement it. Maybe Steel Samuride Kart on Phoenix's phone? His ringtone sounds kind of like a racing game anyway :-)

It's a generally a good idea to not add too much things on your list to do if they're not necessary. You're making quite a big and ambitious case here and the more you add the longer it'll take for you to finish it, increasing the possibility it might end up going unfinished. If you think you can do it, by all means -- but from experience, it's better to keep your eyes on the prize.

Still, it's good to see that there's work being done. Usually when ambitious cases like these are announced, it never gets past the idea stage. So, I'm definitely looking forward to playing the investigation when it comes out.

Of course, these will all be implemented AFTER the game is done. Colored Psychelocks aren't going to be a thing. Using parts of audio as evidence will, however be a thing.

But I thank you for your insight. To be honest, I've had this idea for a few months now and every day, little by little, I add more to it.

No. Its before the Apollo Justice timeline. However, what happened on September 5th in the first game?

Spoiler: hint
This is when Mia "clock"ed out of work and when Redd White had "time" to kill.

Wait, but

Spoiler:
You said this takes place after T&T, right?

State vs Iris (Bridge to the Turnabout) took place on Feb 6-9
Phoenix was disbarred after the trial on April 29 the same year

therefore, by September, he should already be out of his badge

Crap! Uh... Uhhhh.... TIME PARADOX!!!

Well, dang. I forgot that. Well, then this takes place during a parallel timeline or something. It was before the Apollo Justice timeline, and my next project, Draco Pitelli takes place 12 years after this case.

TBH, I'd rather let the followers decide when this case takes place. Its before his disbarment, but after 3-5.

And now people see a partial reason why this is called Turnabout Confusion :shoe:

Meh, it's no big deal. Alternate timeline is perfectly fine, in my opinion. (As long as it doesn't rely on the events of AJ or something...)

Time for another monthly update on this thing: I am 3/5 finished with Part One. After I finish up my coding, it'll be a brief period of time for a quick beta and proofreading, then it'll be out for a public beta. I'm not exactly sure if that's the wisest thing to do, but I figure some opinions from a wide range of people ought to help me in writing Part Two. Now, I WOULD have post a screenshot of the latest plot twist and whatnot, BUUUUUUUUT unfortuantly I nuked my screenshots folder and so...yeah, no screens. Don't worry, though! I intend to have a screenshot before release. Also, I'm in the process of moving to another place, so coding will be slowed down slightly as I have to help my mom organize things in the new place. But I still intend for a late March/early April release!

Stay tuned!

Turnabout Confusion is in need of a few things:

Beta-testers/fixers, someone who knows how to tackle an annoying issue I got.

Spriter: I need a new judge sprite

Voice actor: female, to fill the roll of Miley Enpirio

Co-writer(?)

But everything is going beautifully as of 03/12/2016! I'm fixing some small kinks and proofreading the script a few. But the latest I'll give myself for a public beta is the second week of April!
