A game by Cardiovore and Ropfa.
Cardy and I have been talking for a while about making a case together once both Contempt of Court and Conflict of Interest were finished. Now that CoC is finally done, we're ready to announce our new project.
What's the plot?
It will be a standalone case titled "Serafina Alexander: Turnabout Temptation." It will star an OC protagonist and mostly OC cast (in fact, we currently are only planning to include two canon characters, one of whom is the judge and the other is a minor cameo). The lead is Serafina "Sera" Alexander, a young attorney who already has a few cases under her belt. Sera's an energetic, maverick type of lawyer with a very "go get 'em" attitude.
She's more morally grey and less of an idealist than some of the other protagonists we've seen; while she does value "the truth," her pursuit of it is not necessarily her main driving motivation.
Is this a sequel to Conflict of Interest or Contempt of Court?
This is a completely different story. Serafina will not follow the story arcs of Phoenix or Arculeus or the Rivales Family. However, if you wish, you can consider them to take place within the same universe. (We may drop references to our previous two games here and there).
What engine will this use?
Pywright, of course! That's what we both have experience using.
Will it be a full game?
No. We've only planned for one standalone case. But if the outline is anything to go by, it's looking to be a long one. For those of you who've played Conflict of Interest, I'd estimate it'll be somewhere between the lengths of Turnabout Consequences and Turnabout into the Unknown.
When will it be released?
idk, probly tomorrow
Seriously though, I won't give an estimate for the final release, since I always tend to overshoot those, but know that this will be a big case, so it might take a while to make, especially since Cardiovore and I both have jobs and other real life stuff.
Do you need help?
We'll be looking for voice actors, so if any female Ace Attorney fans out there with microphones would care to audition, we do need shout clips ("OBJECTION!" "HOLD IT!" "TAKE THAT!") for two characters. You can send links to the files to me via private message.
Here's descriptions of the two characters:
1 - woman, mid-late twenties, energetic, confident, possibly a slight hint of anger
2 - woman, mid-late twenties, condescending, antagonistic but not comically evil-sounding
Please only send the voice, not mixed with any other sound effects, in case we need to modify the clip in any way.
