This is the official PR Thread for XImplosionX's latest project: The PW Engine.
Now, lets go ahead and go through a list of logical questions:

1. What is the PW Engine?
The PW Engine is a .NET Based Phonix Wright Fan Case Creator. It's primary function is have a easy tool set for creating case files and turning them into useable .exe files.

2. .NET?!?! Isn't that Windows only? What about other platforms?
Yes, the .NET framework is for Widnows only. But! Once the original engine is written and released, I will begin a port over to Mac and Linux using Mono.NET

3. Ok, what about content size? Won't the exe's be to big?
Thats a good question. No, none of the content will be stored in the EXE file. That's just silly talk. Instead, when you compile the case to an exe, the program will create a compressed file filled with all the content. The exe will then read from there.

4. Golly Gee XImplosionX, that sounds great. But when will it be out?
Well, thats a good question also. I've been writing in any freetime I get, and the program is coming along smoothly. But there is alot of work to be done. I first need to get Sprite and Audio handled. Then comes the Compression/Decompression routines. After that we need scenes, a time line and a case file format. Then comes the actual game creation part. After that, its smooth sailing. So it'll still be a while before I have a proper beta out. But an alpha of the UI will see proper release, real soon...

Also, stay tuned to this thread, for soon I plan on launching a website with updated news, screenshots, feature reports and much much more.

That is all for now,
XImplosionX

This is currently my most anticipated PW case creator out of the ones announced. I look forward to seeing it completed!

Erm, don't you already have another thread for your thing?

I hardly see the need for this thread, especially since you are currently delivering a smile loaded with nothing but promises.

Heh heh... no.
That thread was for the Alpha release, which has been withdrawn. This weekend we will see: 1. A proper alpha release. 2. A website and 3. A special file and hopefully a tool released ;)

Well, I thank you all for your support. Seeing as you are all patient, I'll leave a little more info.
This weekedm, I hope to write a decompresser for my Compressed file format, so I can release a working archive with a txt file containing the link to the web site, and a few screen shots of it in development. So far its going pretty good. Started writing code for the In-Game user interface today.

It seems to be looking pretty good so far. Just don't turn your development of this into a rivalry with the other one or anything.

Vista Support: Yes and No
The engine will be supported on WIndows Vista
The XNA Framework is not supported on Vista yet. In a later release of the framework, it shall be.

And don't worry about petty rivalries, I have no need for them. This engine will NOT be rushed by outside influences, and will be released in a Feature-Complete Beta 1. The first beta will be closed source, and once we have it tested, I'll release an Open beta. From there we will see a final release, and then minor updates includgin a Mono.NET version.

I think it looks fine. It sure looks better than my first attempts at a website =P

Oh noes, Change.

There has been a slight change in plans when it comes do development. Version one will not have a EXE compiler just yet. Intsed I shall be using a new file format, the CPWC (Compiled Phoenix Wright Case) file format. This will need to be loaded up into the open source reader I am writing.

That is all for now.
