Well, actually this section is for stuff related to AAI or GK since Lang only appeared in AAI so far this thread is in the right section besides character antipathies :edgeworth:

I was so worried at first that he'd turn out to be a villain and I'd have to put him in jail... but he turned out to be a jerk with a heart of gold. :D

I felt so bad for him when it was revealed that his trusted subordinate Shih-Na was actually a spy for the smuggling ring.


I hope he comes back in AAI2.

I liked Shi-Long Lang since the first time I saw him when he said "everyone is number 1!". It really said a lot of him, being such a nice guy with his men. And anyway,

Love this guy. He has a reason to oppose Edgeworth, but he has is own agenda at the same time. Plus, he seems like the best boss he a guy could ask for. He was also pretty funny in his own right. He comes off as just a brute jock at first but he does have quite a bit of depth to him and he's pretty smart to boot. I did not like him at all at first and thought he was a walking cliche. I didn't expect him to become one of my favorite characters. A simple moment in the game is when Alba refuses to let them examine the Primidux statue but Lang orders his men to do it anyway and says he'll take the heat for it

Plus, he develops pretty well and I like the fact that he didn't just constantly badger Edgeworth. He hated him in I-3 and then respected im in I-5 and that respect felt earned (plus, that move with accusing Franziska was pretty good thinking on his part)

And c'mon. Who the hell didn't overflow with respect for Lang when he took a bullet for Shih-na even though she was revealed to be a killer, just because she's his subordinate? (Plus, he investigates the rest of the day with a BULLET IN HIS LEG)

To be honest, I might even like Lang better as a rival for Edgeworth than Phoenix

Edit: Want to throw in that I loved it whenever he yelled "Not so Fast!"

I used to feel kinda meh about him, but replaying AAI I'm really liking him. Also props to him for calling out Edgey on his courtroom antics, and for most of the things he does that's supposed to be antagonistic are perfectly reasonable i.e not letting him run all over the place without having the authority to do so "cuz truth". I like his humour, little oddities, loyalty and no-nonsense attitude and he seems like a generally cool dude to be around (unless you're a prosecutor). And his outfit kicks ass.

Yeah, Lang is great! Genuinely cool guy who cares a lot about his coworkers and has huge respect for them. He's also anlot smarter than he looks which is pretty nice. He can be quite cunning sometimes.
