This game has the best music in the series.

To be completely honest after finishing the game I have to say that the music was rather lackluster in my opinion as opposed to the other games. I'm not saying the music was bad but it didn't have the same effect on me when I was playing the game. I liked a few themes such as Detective Badd's and Kay Faraday's but I just wish it could've had a more upbeat tune that would really get me going into the game play. Overall the music in my opinion was okay but not quite as good as the previous games

I liked that they included some music from the GS games <3 But Lang's theme just kicks all the GS music down the stairs and out of the window- I ADORE this tune, which is a rare thing as I'm not really into most of the AA music.

At first I didn't like Lang's theme too much, but then it kept getting into my head and I eventually began to like it, especially in the last case, where it just made him even more badass. I also like Pursuit-Lying Coldly, Confrontation- Presto, and Confess the Truth. :edgy:

There were a lot of more ordinary songs I liked in this one, whereas in the previous games I'd just re-listen to Cornered. The one thing I didn't think was quite so fitting was the remix of Gumshoe's theme.
And to emphasize how awesome (the final villain)'s theme is, imagine it being played in a Legend of Zelda boss fight against Ganondorf.

I liked AAI's tracks and there were some good ones among these. Lang's theme is awesome, and I spent like ten minutes listening to it in the game. Kay's theme... was meh. It didn't really stick out much to me. The confrontation themes were good, but it was kind of hard to tell the difference between Moderato and Allergo. Presto was the best out the three.

My list of favorite music:
1. Shiryu Ro -Speak up Pup!
2. Confrontation 2009 Presto
3. Investigation 2009 Midgame
4. Taiho Kun March

That list is pretty awesome Szabu! Anyways, having a listen at the whole soundtrack, Badd's theme and the Investigation Middle theme both could belong in Advance Wars, especially the Investigation Middle, which reminds me of Jake's theme from Dual Strike. And I think that all Ace Attorney games should have a Presto theme. Allegro is not enough to show the chase and the cornered criminal!

New and edited list of favorite songs:
Shiryu Ro~Speak up, Pup!
Badd~The Truth Ain't Sweet
Confrontation~Presto
Confess the Truth 2009
Investigation Middle 2009

Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth - Investigation ~ Core 2009
Detective Gumshoe: I Can Do It When It Counts, Pal! (Though I wish it was Gumshoe's actual theme)
Blue Badger March(Wish it was more used than that small scene at the beginning of case 3)
Shi-Long Lang: Speak Up, Pup!

Post subject:  Re: AAI Music Discussion

The music in AAI was fairly disappointing, i understand that its trying to be more orchestral to suit Edgeworth's personality, which isn't a problem. The problem is that it just seems to mediocre when compared to some of the other tracks from the rest of the series, like the epicness during AA, feeling the satisfaction of hearing the OBJECTION theme for the first time, or the power of Damon Gant's theme. Every other track in AA was epic aswell as it perfectly suited each character and also the situation.

JFA gave us the awe inspiring "Revival" theme for Edgeworth and Franzisca, and even the haunting melody of the berry big circus. which kept us ammused and entranced with its fluctuating tune. and to be fair even the theme of pearls was nice to hear as a re-sampled version of Maya's theme with an added transition.

T&T was !EPIC! in terms of music. nearly every track from "suspense" up to "mask*demasque's theme" from the happy to the sad songs was a true masterpiece. Every one who has played it can remember the truly mind blowing "OBJECTION" theme in this one as well as the sickeningly sweet, entrancing "distant traces of beauty", and most of all the awesomeness that is "fragrance of dark coffee"

AJ, although not as strong as its pre-decessors, still included memorable tracks like Trucy's theme, troupe gramarye, and even the orchestral-techno mix of its OBJECTION theme that seemed to inject it with coolness, as well as the melodic guitars serenade and the rockin' Guilty love.

But AAI only had 5 good tracks which are:
Alba's theme (Orchestral brilliance)
Lang's theme (Rock jazz fusion)
Gumshoe's theme (Its a piano update of his old theme and it is awesome)
Kay's theme (kinda reminds me of an early anime opening)
persuing the truth (the only tune i can play properly on piano)
Against its old game the music does not live up to its predecessors.
(just for the record i also like yew and Badd's themes too but theyre not that memorable)
(i'm not

I agree with this,tho I'd put Badd's and Yew's theme higher and Alba's lower

Rou>>Kay>Badd>Yew>Gumshoe>Alba
and now that I listemed to it again, some intro themes are good, the Prologue and 'Turnabout Up In Flames'
and it kind of introduced the new 'of Fate' themes(more or less a continuation of the trill themes, but so far there was just the one in AJ, before they used Suspense over and over again), Crisis of Fate really pumps up the adrenaline

but other than that, yeah AAI is kind of forgetable

AAI2 didn't improve too much imho, it does the same mistake of having too many unimpressive songs
it also has this 70's or 80's (I dunno which one lol) feel to it, especially with the Presto theme and Pursuit theme, they're one of the best on the soundtrack imho, not because they're better in comparison with other games but I can still remember them
also (avoiding [character name]~ to avoid spoilers), I liked the opening to Brandished Flavor and Joking Motive is probably the best new character theme
oh,and Bonds ~ A heart that believes is very touching

Most of the gameĀ“s music was pretty awesome / good.

But, the "Confrontation / Presto" was played way too rarely.
Same for the "Pursuit / Lying Coldly".
At this point I also wanna name "Crises Fate" as one of my ultimate favorites of the game.

AAI's soundtrack is brilliant, props to Noriyuki Iwadare for his splendid job. I pretty much love every track from the game. Though "Promise To Meet Again" sounds way too much like "I'll Be There" for my tastes. Ah well. Now if only Iwadare could remix AA, JFA and T&T's music to match the quality of AAI, that would be awesome.

I love pursuit lying coldly it always gets blood pumping to take someone down , along with enemy who surpasses the law sends chills down my spine as someone to be feared) taking them down was amazing.
Also really enjoy confess the truth again sends chills down my spine when taking the perp down , aslo like when it links into logic sections with the flashback of how Edgey gets to that point in his logic.
Yatagarsu theme is awesome it feels like an excellent piece of music for the character.

Pursuit ~ Lying Coldly is bar none my absolute favorite Ace Attorney song. As for soundtracks, I think I like the soundtrack to DD and GK2 a little more. Some of my favorites in this game

Confrontation ~ Presto (though I do think the 2011 version is much better)
Pursuit ~ Lying Coldly
Tyrell Badd ~ The Truth Isn't Sweet
Confess the Truth 2009
Yatagarasu ~ The Gentleman Thief
Kay Faraday ~ The Great Truth Burglar (LOOOOOOOVE this one)
Solution! ~ Splendid Deduction

I absolutely love Confrontation Presto and Kay's theme, as well as Yatagarasu ~ the gentleman thief, Tyrell Badd's theme, Crises of fate and Investigation middle. I also like the feeling of "Court ~ Guardians of law" as it has that "Court begins" feeling to it yet slightly different, Investigation core (they tend to be good in general) and if I remember correctly "Overture to kidnapping" was good as well. Yeah, it was.

Shi-Long Lang ~ Speak up, Pup!
Tyrell Badd ~ The Truth Isn't Sweet
Zinc Lablanc ~ Time is Money
Cammy Meele ~ Good Niiiight
Doubted People
Blue Badger ~ Bando Land Theme
Confess the Truth 2009
Yatagarasu ~ The Gentleman Thief
Interesting People
Kay Faraday ~ The Great Truth Burglar
Reproducing the Scene
Calisto Yew ~ Let Me Laugh at the Cool (this one deserves special mention)

Me too. I think it's the most accessible OST but it also lacks the soul (not genre) found in the trilogy OST (maybe except for some of JFA) in favor of a more traditional musician's jam-band kind of OST. I find one of the things that disappointed me with the music of AAI is how a lot of the tracks fit easier into traditional genres whereas in the other games the OST is more video-gamey and feels qurkier. Or maybe it's just that AAI's music relies more on simple tonality and use of scales than the others. IDK. For a musician who's been studying it for a few years know, I was never quite that adept at Music Theory.

I agree, most of the character themes present in the game are great as well as perfect-fitting to the character. They perform greatly in the game but give me no desire to listen to them over and over.

The investigation themes in this game were some of the best, but I think overall they were improved in Gk2.

To me that's what I think the theme is. While AAI's music is superb (especially the Interrogation music), Gk2's music is a little better.

Something that I find kinda neat is that in each case the presto theme is used differently.

Spoiler: Whole game
Case one:The last testimony. Nothing surprising.
Case two:....actually,the final presto testimony isn't even here. It only plays when you're trying to prove that Hicks's phone still works. Rather weird.
Case three:It's used as the final testimony, but it isn't the last part. The actual last part is the investigation of the haunted house and then catching Lance.
Case four:Not just the last testimony, but the last TWO testimonies.
Case five:Once again it's used for two different testimonies, but the people testifying are different both times and there's actually some space between the two testimonies.

Cool right?

The presto theme only plays when you're cross-examining the culprit, with the exception of Case 2 when you're just talking. But it's supposed to let you know you got the killer

Spoiler: Case 5
It plays for Shih-na because she's guilty of what you're accusing her of

Spoiler: GK2
And it's subverted in AAI2 with Shimon to trick you into thinking he's the killer

(The prisoner was the culprit of the prison break attempt and Hoinbo killed the president, so they both got the presto theme as well)
