Anyone who knows me probably knows that I'm a huge John Legend fan. Once Again is my favorite album of his, which I can listen to at just about any time. It's frikkin' good for my soul.
It seems like my first favorite Indie Rock album will always be my favorite. Kenna is incredible.
One of the best new RnB albums out. There are only a few of my favorite Thicke tracks on here, but as an album, this flows much better than his previous two releases. The consistant old-school style is really something.
What can I say about this that hasn't been said.
I have to list both Gnarls Barkley albums because I truly believe that they are instant classics, lyrically, musically, and stylistically. Every Gnarls release is pure gold, bursting with character, and it's my favorite band without a doubt.
And my favorite of all time is:
Lupe Fiasco's The Cool. This is true hip-hop, smacking you right in the face. The concept of the album personifies the adjective "Cool", the streets, and the game itself, and those themes find their way into several of the album's tracks. He has some of the most thought provoking lyrics, and an impressive flow that shouldn't be missed. His first album was also amazing, and the first single for his long awaited album "Lasers", entitled "Shining Down", drops tomorrow. Get it on iTunes if you have any form of respect towards real music.
Year of the Gentleman by Ne-Yo gets an honorable mention since I seem to be hooked on it lately.

Pure Reason Revolution - The Dark Third
I mentioned this with a bunch of other great albums in an earlier post, but I wanted to bring a bit more attention to this. While it isn't nescessarily the best album I've heard, it is high up there. Absolutely stunning. They're like a modern Pink Floyd, and in a way similar to Porcupine Tree, with little of the metal which there's a lot of in many other "new prog"-bands. There's an electronic element there as well. The vocals are gorgeous (both male and female), with all members except the drummer singing parts. Listening to this album makes me feel like I'm dreaming. Breath-takingly beautiful. If you're interested, be sure to pick up the european two-disc version, which have a bunch of tracks not on the other versions.
