As said in the title, really. Are we saying it so it sounds like 'bone', or 'gone'?

(Personally? 'Gone')

I pronounce the bread-thingamajig so it rhymes with "bones", so her name the same way.

I think the pun in her name comes from the actual pastry itself, so yeah, like that.

Although I've heard some people pronounce the pastry like "gone", but I always thought that was a local thing.

Ahaha this is why I asked the question - I'm one of the locals (I guess?!) who pronounces the pastry like 'gone'! Was wondering what the majority view was since it's pretty divided in the UK

(there's a map with the pronunciation variation, somewhere...)

Haha, I see! I live in the southern regions of Sweden and the gone-pronounciation sounds a lot like how people talk down here in general xD

If you say the name fast it sounds like “delicious cones”
