But what do the characters say about Charley?

And do the pre-order DLC's have names? Or are they just Phoenix's/Apollo's pre-order DLC.

One thing in Turnabout Magic Show puzzled me.

Spoiler: Major spoilers
Why exactly did Yamashino want to ruin Trucy's and the whole Gramarye family's reputation? Sure, they did cause him to lose his job as a magician but now he's the host of a rather well known TV Show, isn't he?

What a waste.

It was kind of a Kristoph-specific element in the first place that was meant to evoke an mystery and darkness and nothing more, but people wanted it explained, so the team took an opportunity to close the case with AA5 and be done with it. I'm kinda okay with it if they aren't back.

yes
if by "close the case" you mean "completely contradict and screw up what was shown in the previous game"

Ah, eh. AA5's explanation can be somewhat applied to the context they appear in for AA4, though it's hokey at best.
Spoiler: AA4/5
One part of the explanation has to do with the fact that black locks appear when someone is mentally unstable basically or weak and about to break and breaking the locks forcefully can damage their soul (fits Kristoph) and the other part is about how it appears when people are unconsciously hiding a secret. That secret is very clear and definitive for Athena: She's blocking out a memory from post-traumatic stress but Kristoph isn't necessarily hiding any particular fact other than that he's insane and obsessed and he's not conscious of it; he's hiding that there is no rational rhyme or reason why he's been murdering his victims.

The black locks were definitely meant to show simply that there's a void of darkness inside Kristoph and the things he hides are irrational (I think) but with Athena they explained it by fitting the Black locks to her situation and then also generalizing them as being barriers for the mentally ill, and while I do think it cheapens what I felt they represented for Kristoph (mystery for the most part) I am okay with the way it's explained overall.

Remember to tag your spoilers with description.
Spoiler: case 5
She made a promise to the archaeologist to not tell anyone about where he had gone.

Edit: And to an earlier post of yours:
FenrirDarkWolf wrote:

And do the pre-order DLC's have names? Or are they just Phoenix's/Apollo's pre-order DLC.

Everyone is happy to see Charley looking brilliantly green as usual. Phoenix doesn't mention to Maya how he's left all of the care to Athena, though.

Not really names, per se. They're just labeled as "Play! Gyakuten Drama - [insert character here] Edition".

So how well do Ema and Maya know each other?
On the scale of "just met" to "pretty good friends." I'm sure they should know each other a little bit by now at least.

I suppose it's closer to "pretty good friends", as they're quite natural with each other when they meet. It seems they have a sort of junior-senior relationship, kinda like how Mia and Lana respected each other. Of course, Ema's the younger one.

Again, this question doesn't exactly relate to contents of the game BUT it does relate to the game. Now, I was wondering, does anyone know if this game will be available for preorder on the eShop? Is that even a thing? I don't use the eShop much so I'm not aware if preordering is an option. :think-pw:

In general: pre-ordering and pre-loading is available in the eShop, but availablity of this differs per region. A lot of games are available for pre-ordering and pre-loading in the Japanese eShop for example, while out in the West I think it's mostly seen with games published by Nintendo and it's not nearly as common as in the Japanese eShop.

As for this game: no details yet, so who knows? It was available for pre-order/load in Japan, but as I said, the situation in the Japanese eShop is quite different.

Can someone tell me how much space or "blocks", as the 3ds calls it, the full game, DLC case, both bonus episodes and extra outfits use? And can you tell me the answers separately, not a total?

This is from the Japanese version, but I can't imagine it will be much different for the Western release. The block numbers are taken from the in-game shop.
AA6: 6627 blocks (I think, another source said it was 6624)
DLC Episode: 245 blocks
Turnabout Theater (Apollo) - 3 blocks (as a set with the other one: 5 blocks)
Turnabout Theater (Phoenix) - 3 blocks (as a set with the other one: 5 blocks)
Special Costumes - 43 blocks
Sengoku BASARA costumes: 45 blocks

Does the Japanese version have the English translation as a switchable like 1/2/3 on DS?
(I'm assuming not)

Nope. That was exclusive to the DS and 3DS re-releases of the trilogy games.

So, uh, it looks like there was some kind of crazy confusing debate about if something was real or fake happening early on in the thread (first to second page roughly) for something about the ending. I didn't look in the tags but that seemed to be the gist of it if I understood the context correctly. Was that real or a joke and if it is real how brain melting is it on a scale of 1 to 10? Is it brain melting in a good or terrible way?

She's Nick's assistant and waiting for that ramen he was going to treat her.

It's been confirmed.
Spoiler: Just in case, but no case details
It's some of those things that build up for a good while through the game, so not exactly "brain melting" material. Maybe I'll give it a 3. Imo, I think it was still presented in a good way, though slightly disappointing in other ways. It's surprising, though, since some of it seems to come out of nowhere.

So one thing led to another after the new English trailer came out yesterday...
Spoiler: Case 2
Someone commented "I wonder what Kiki's name is going to be" which led to me going, "I don't remember a Kiki in AA" which led to Googling, which led to me discovering Kiki Nanano. I didn't spoil any details, I just know the name. But since I already know that Mimi's last name is Nanano, I assume there's a connection. How big of a twist did I just spoil for myself?

So damn close, I went all this time without a single spoiler. :larry:

I get the feeling this is gonna be really disappointing. I mean they've spent the past two games teaching you not to care about Trucy in any capacity and this implies that she's a main character when she isn't.

While it doesn't make everything right, that one character was featured in both the AA5 drama and the recent novel, so they at least go that character for spin-off material ^_~
