Oh, and what is up with he dislike for Turnabout Sisters? I even dedicated my sig to this point.
I really dislike when people go "PWAA is one of the best games, probably after T&T, because case 4 and 5 are amazing!

No U! Case 5 is great but I don't even count it with the game when I say that PWAA is by far the best game and story arc in the franchise and it's because of 1-2 and 1-4 mainly, and not just 1-4. I didn't even like case 5 at first. I don't even think it's "amazing" now even I just think it's pretty great.

And I think T&T lacks any real gut punching moment in its main story arc. No particular aspect of the main story really got me excited the same way PWAA did or JFA's final case did, except maybe part with the burning bridge.

I thought that Godot sucked as a prosecutor. He would constantly just ask for evidence or just insult Phoenix( which was funny at times)

I wish Nick would bring back his "hobo" persona for just one more case at least.

I'm glad he'll always be the same deep down and all, but I still miss his sheer Magnificent B*****dry from the Kristoph arc.

I don't ship attorney/prosecutor (P/E; A/K; A/B) at least not in the red quadrant/romantically.

Due to this fact, finding good fanfictions is hard.

Hmm,let's see....

Spoiler:
*Moe is the best character in 2-3.
*SoJ Ema is meh.
*1-3 is one of my favourite filler cases.
*I don't hate Larry.
*Kristoph is better than Dahlia.
*Iris is better than Dahlia.
*As you can tell,I don't think Dahlia deserves all the praise she gets.
*I thought Turnabout Reclaimed was a bit too cheesy for my tastes.
*SoJ's puns are too tryhard and unfunny.
*AJ>DD
*DD's investigations are the most boring, lacklustre parts in the series for me.
* I-3 is my least favourite case, and even then it's meh.
*Logic is too simple.
* I really like Brushel.
*I laugh more at Polly's jokes than I do at Nick's.
* Tateyuki/Raymond is unfunny.

DGS AND SOJ SPOILERS INCOMING YO

Spoiler:
*Hosongoa>Gregson
*I found Mitrov more sympathethic than Niko.
*The Closing Arguments are just padding in the 4th and first part of 5th case.
*I didn't dislike the ending.
* Susato is probably one of the most 3D assistants we've seen in a while.
*I don't know how to say Egg's real name, and neither does anyone else.
*I liked Retinz more as Reus.
*Sherlock's deduction in the 4th case is hilarious.
*Peeslub'n is my favourite new character in SoJ.
*Datz is very confusing as a character,as well as the role he plays in the story.
*Dhurke is best dad.
*The first trial of Case 3 is the worst part in the whole game.
*Uendo was okay. I don't even really like Kisegawa that much.
*His Magistry is greater than the normal judge. :udgey:
*Larry's part in the DLC was too short. :larry:
*Pierce was hilarious post-transformation.
*The animation in the DLC for the new characters are too long. Especially Ellen.
*I thought the DLC was too simplistic.
*Pierce is a grey-area character,sorta like Mimi and Simon/Souta.
*AJ asinine attorney was so low stakes it was actually kinda hilarious.
*I wish Beh'leeb was cross examined.

I honestly thought Wendy Oldbag was one of the funniest and best Phoenix Wright characters out there. Mainly because of the way she says things, her crush on Miles Edgeworth, and the weird stuff she does. I love her chatchphrase where she calls everyone a "Wippersnapper!" :wendy:

I think that PLvsAA's Spellbreaker is, by far, the absolute best pursuit theme in the entire series, both musically and thematically, and that the others don't even come close to it. I can't understand why many people seem to rank it as low as they do.

I love it too. One of my favourite orchestral music of all time. But here's something more controversial: I love Casting Magic as a name over Spellbreaker.

I think "Casting Magic" is the literal translation of its Japanese name, while Spellbreaker is what it's called in the English OST. I might be wrong, though.

I don't know how unpopular these opinions are, but 4-2 is one of my favourite cases ever, and I also love AAI-4. I haven't really seen people talking about any of them.

I agree. He was so chill. And suddenly... he's not. I love trilogy-Phoenix so much, but I found it fun that it was very noticable that he had changed a bit through the years, it felt very realistic.

Perhaps he'll regress and turn into Feenie in the next game.

Even though everyone seems to love Godot, I just don't like him.

Spoiler: AA1-3
I can't help but see his blaming of Phoenix for failing to save Mia as somewhat misogynistic. Like she was only a woman and needed a man to save her. I think I remember him mocking Franziska and coming up with pet names for her too, which doesn't sit well with me either. Plus, he let that plan of Morgan's go ahead and would have killed Dahlia, even if Pearl was channeling her. Yeah, I can't really sympathise with him at all. Yeah, he's bitter about his dead girlfriend... but in the end, I still can't really care for him.

As much as I love him, because really I do, the things you mention don't sit right with me either. I love him, but the sexistic things he has said and done definitely made me respect him less and I won't "forgive" him for those. (And then there's things that I really respect him for... like actually treating Jean with respect, for example, and not even that, he was the only one doing so because hey, Jean is weird, sure thing - but why would he deserve to be treated differently just because of that? But I digress.)

That said! I fully understand why you can't stand him, and highlighting those problems you have with the man are really good points that I think is good to keep in mind before like... idolizing him or something. :sillytrucy:

You just pinpointed my absolutely biggest problems with him. For a while, I felt like I shouldn'teven like him because of that... but I do. I love the other aspects of his character, but it's still bugging me in the back of my head since they're serious flaws rather than the kind that can make a character better.

So is it an unpopular opinion to think that Godot ISN'T sexist? Because I never found him sexist.

I dunno, the way he tells Franziska that he doesn't like 'women like her', instead of saying just 'people like her' or simply calling her out on her BS like everyone else does seemed pretty sexist to me. Plus his entire motivation is some sort of knight complex thing.

I still love him, though.

I don't understand why people hate 2-3 so much. Yes, it was boring in some parts, and the logic was weird, but I didn't think of that while playing it.

AJ's filler cases are actually pretty fun.

Ooh,here's one: While I do like I2's story more than its predecessor, its pacing is abysmal, and the actual layout of each individual case is very convoluted. Thus,it's not quite my favourite in the series.

Also,I don't like the overuse of Middlegame 2011.

And Tricks and Baroque's opening sucks.

I didn't hate 2-3 (which I presume you mean) so much, and my reasons for disliking it has little to do with how boring it was or the weird logic. I didn't like it all for how... different Phoenix and Maya seemed. Phoenix was more sarcastic to the point he condescending and tired of life, and Maya seemed extra mean to Phoenix, giving him more crap than usual. Add to that the fact that for some reason, this case had a lot of actions in asterisks (*swoon*, like this) which just looked out of place compared to the other cases, and that I just couldn't fathom how Maya was so head over heels for Max, when even his stage persona doesn't look that great.
It just felt like a strange case written by someone else who knows Ace Attorney but doesn't quite get it...

EDIT: Yeah, thought so. 2-3

I really like the Manson system (and the past/present stuff) in AJ as well, however I didn't like the last trial that much. The trial section was over so quickly, I think they didn't even play the pursuit theme at the end and the finale just didn't feel as epic as in all the other games imo.

I think I know what you mean.

Spoiler: 6-5
He clearly feels that he has to uphold his family legacy by following his grandfather's footsteps, but despite his apparent confidence, he secretly knows that he isn't up to task (If he thought he could win by himself, he wouldn't have needed to go along with Inga's plan). His ego is just one big inferiority-superiority complex.

It fits with the whole legacy theme of the games.

And the fact that he was basically trying to be a grandfather when even though he probably would've been completely ashamed of him and his actions. Dahlia was born broken but Paul was broken by choice and he'd make the same choice every time because he doesn't see it that away and thinks too much of himself

I thought he had a great breakdown but I didn't think it was just funny, I thought it was incredibly sad. Especially with how he called out to his grandfather at the end

Yeah, the way his nametag breaks after he's been trying to fix it the whole trial made me feel genuinely sorry for him.
Honestly, I think all breakdowns in the game made me feel at least a little sorry for the culprit. Geiru is obvious, but take Retinz: Even after his breakdown, he's still completely obsessed with Magnifi. He can't just let his grudge go, and that's pretty sad.
And even Ga'ran, as evil as she was, looked too pathetic trying to channel the Holy Mother to not pity her. And then her guards/fanboys turn on her, showing that they only were with her because she was the queen and nobody gives a crap about her as a person.

The villains in general were so good in this game, and such a big improvement over DD (bar the final one, but I think liking the phantom is another unpopular opinion).

1. Godot is overrated and the motive behind all of his actions is kind of silly... if anything, he should be pissed off at Misty Fey AND Marvin Grossberg for the fact that Mia died, and not pissed off at Phoenix. He is a sexist jerk, yup, but this isn't the only reason why I dislike him. I could write more about this here, but explaining my aversion to him isn't the intent of this post. To be fair to his fans, he is hot and has a nice song as theme, but that's all.

2. T&T is the worst game of the original trilogy. This is an incredibly rare opinion, I know... but it kind of surprises me that this opinion is so rare here. Because 3-2 and 3-3 aren't good cases at all, and their secondary characters (especially the villains) are very simplistic and shallow compared to those of previous games. I'm sorry, but no situation in T&T could touch me emotionally like discovering about the DL-6 incident and Edgeworth's past in GS1, or learning about Mimi Miney's motives and Adrian Andrews' complexes in GS2. T&T basically has Dahlia, who is a "villain because I was born this way" kind of character, being the main antagonist in 3 cases. It has Luke Atmey being the main antagonist in 3-2, and Furio Tigre in 3-3. As I mentioned multiple times, Viola is the only secondary character I really liked in this game :viola:

3. I love AAI. I think it is a great game in general. The episode with 20-year-old Edgey and 13-year-old Franny is a gem. It has younger Gumshoe, too, and we learn how he met the von Karmas for the first time. I'm okay with Lang and Calisto Yew. I don't care for Kay, but she doesn't ruin the game for me.

4. I would be okay if the main series of AA ended here, and Capcom only released spin offs like Investigations and DGS (localize all of them!). Phoenix could appear as secondary character, or at least as a character that isn't in the spotlight as he used to be.

5. One of the reasons I like :franny: is because she is a Bad Girl. Probably one of the few female characters that could be labeled as "important", while at the same time not being a bubbly, happy-go-lucky teenage girl (like Maya, Trucy, Ema, Kay and to some extent Athena are). Cuz I don't like this kind of character at all. Young Mia is nice, too, but I don't like all the Fey family drama thing in T&T.
