:sadshoe: I got on too late. I just logged onto teamspeak but no one is there, oh will. I will try for tomorrow. Hopefully I can talk to you guys then.

Feel free to ignore the rest of this post if its... annoying, but writing the vocal line of the song is going really slowly for me. Do you guys have any tips? On anything about this whole process. I'm all ears.

I like it, aki-bara!
It needs a guitar, definitely! I can try if you want. And if I'm really too bad, I can ask my boyfriend.
With maybe a bit of violin :edgy: (which I can't play at all)

Well, sorry to say, but I'm not going to be on teamspeak today like I said. I just found out about 90 minutes ago that my Papa passed away after his surgery.

But I'll see you all another time. Just not today.

:sadshoe: Sorry ff3. Please know I send you my love and many hugs.

On a musical side note it just occured to me that you guys might want the lyrics to that song. I changed them a little
Spoiler:
"Phoenix Wright: The Musical" Project
Case 4

"There's a Lotta Life"
by WhiteElephant

Parts: Lotta Hart, Phoenix Wright, Maya Fey

Placement: When Phoenix and Maya meet Lotta.

Description: Phoenix and Maya try to get get some information out of Lotta Hart, a fun-lovin' country gal. Unfortunately, this backfires and Lotta winds up deciding to go to the police and heads off without giving Phoenix the information he needs. Only thing left to do is show this country gal some city hostpitality in the next day's trial!

NOTE: This song was presented as an alternate/re-named "I've Gotta Lotta Life."

=-=-=- Lyrics -=-=-=

Phoenix: Hello there Miss...

Lotta: Hart. Lotta Hart.

Phoenix: Right. I want to ask you some questions-

Lotta: Hey there! Don't you going demanding things like that.
Just because I'm not some flashy city folk
Doesn't mean I don't got feelings!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Sung]
Please treat me with respect is all I ask,
but if you don't I'll kick you in the ass!

And everyone in town knows I'm
excitable,
delightable
and ready to start a fight-able!

Phoenix: I see.

Lotta:
My name is Lotta Hart
And I came from Country U
To look up towards the skies
And get a great big scoop!

My camera, it cost a lot
But I don't pay a mind.
It will be all worth it
Once I find the big prize!

Because
There's a Lotta Life
Still left in us all
We need to grab a piece
Before it's all gone!

So this my mission
I'm stating it right now!
I'll make sure we see it all
Before it goes down!
----------------------------------------------------------
Phoenix:
That's very...inspiring Miss Hart.

Lotta: Why thank you, Mr...

Phoenix:
Phoenix Wright.

Lotta: Right.

Maya: And I'm Maya Fey!

Lotta: Nice to meet 'yall.

Phoenix: But I really need to ask you some questions about-

Lotta: Questions? There's far too many questions, 'yall! We need answers.

Phoenix: I agree! That's why I need you to-
--------------------------------------------------------------
[Sung]
Lotta:
Sorry Mr. Wright.
I reckon you not to mind.
But I can't waste any time
Not even for a dime.
Flash that fancy badge at me as much as you please
But it ain't gonna help me solve all these mysteries.

Phoenix: Hey!

Maya: Too true.

[Sung] Lotta:
Because
There's a Lotta Life.
Still left in this world.
Too many things to find
And oh so little time to use.

I'm sorry, I can't help
Anybody but myself.
But maybe if you gave some proof
I could help you with that scoop!
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Phoenix:
Miss Lotta Hart tell me
Were you at this spot last night?

Lotta: Of course!

[Sung]
I was looking at the meteors
Falling from the skies!

Maya:
Tell us did you see
A murder take place at night

Lotta: WHAT?

[Sung]
Murder, on this lake here, thats quite absurd!

...But then again I did observe
Something quite unsure.

Phoenix and Maya simultaneously: Really?!

Lotta: Yes!

[Sung]
It's become clear now
My memory has returned!
There were two figures on the lake
My camera caught for sure!

Yes a picture of I reckon
two men on a boat.
Two loud shots fired off
Boy it must have hurt!
--------------------------------------------------------
Maya: Two?

Lotta:
But I'm afraid 'yall won't hear
Anymore than that!

Phoenix: What?

Maya: Why?
-----------------------------------------------------
[sung]
Lotta:
Hearing two loud gun shots,
And my camera going off
Makes me an eyewitness
To this terrible bloody business.

Phoenix: But-

[Sung]
Lotta:
I'm sorry Mr. Wright
But thanks for your time.
With your help I realized
I'm the key to this here crime!

Maya: Please, wait no!

[Sung]
Lotta:
There's a Lotta Life
Still left in us all
We need to grab a piece
Before it's all gone!

You know I always thought
How much fun it could be?
To testify on witnessing a scandelous scene!

Because
There's a Lotta Life.
Still left in this world.
Too many things to find
And oh so little time!

I'm sorry, I can't help
Anybody but myself!
You'll have to hear the rest-
When I testify in court!

You'll have to hear the rest-
When I testify in court!

You'll have to hear the rest-
When I te-sti-fy in court!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Phoenix: Miss Hart please.
My client is innocent I swear!

Lotta: Well then, you better hope that's true.
Since I'll be testifying tomorrow that he isn't, I'm afraid.

Maya: But Mr. Edgeworth is inncoent!

Lotta: Don't take it personally, Mr. Wright and Miss Fey.
It's my obligation as a citizen to make sure
That truth and justice is served!

Phoenix: [thinking] Isn't that my job?

Lotta: I need to get going now.
But since 'yall helped
I'll give ya picture
Of what happened that night.
[gives a photograph of the two men in the boat to Phoenix]

Maya: Wait! Before you go can you please tell us a little more.

Lotta: Nice try honey, but I wasn't born yesterday!
I'm a witness, on the side of justice, with all them cops and detectives.
Friends today, enemies tomorrow, that's what I say.
I'll be seeing you again tomorrow in the midst of court.
Later!
[Lotta leaves]
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[small sad music starts to play]
[Sung]
Maya:
Nick, what now? What can we do.
She reckons she saw Edgeworth
Committing the lake murder.

Phoenix: No!
[more bolder, uplifting music starts to play]

[Sung]
She only claims that she heard
Two shots from a pistol
We just need to prove
Edgeworth wasn't the one to shoot.

[Spoken]
Maya: But how can we do that,
When she has solid proof?

[Sung]
Phoenix:
That photograph she took
Could give us a big boost

[Music from Lotta's song starts to play again]

[Sung]
Because
There's a Lotta Life
Still left in us all!
Let's make sure that we use this chance/

So let Lotta testify!
Let her kick some ass.
Because at the end
We'll get the last laugh!

Phoenix and Maya together:
Because:
We can't let Lotta Hart
Get inside of our skins.
We'll show that country gal tomorrow
How we city folk can win!
[music ends again]

I didn't do the speaking parts in my recording, because I'm bad at doing voices. If any of you want to give this a try don't forget the country accent. And yes some guitar fiddle background music would be nice. I have the sheet music for the vocal part about halfway done. Thank you guys.

Apparently I've confused a couple people... let me clarify something, because I guess my first post was misleading with my family language!

maternal grandparents= Granny & Papa
Papa= grandfather

Sorry for those of you who thought my father had died. :ack: Though to tell you the truth... I'm not sure how I would handle that happening anyway... I've got a strange family. But enough of that. I'll save it for when I inherit the crazy and need therapy.

Thanks again for the loving words, everyone! Joel and Mari also appreciate it.

:omg:

Oh no...

AGAIN. WILL IT NEVER STOP?! MUST LEENESS BE KILLED FOR IT TO BE OVER?!

Uh. Voice failed a bit, 'cause I sang it too many times. =/ Though I think "through thick and thin..." sounds more like I'm singing (finally) and less like I'm calling a dog.

Wow! I never met anybody else who did that. Maybe its a Southern thing--he grew up in Arkansas.

Don, did you just say there's an animating tool for the DS?? HmmMmmmm... good to know. Is it a cartridge?

Leeness--like I told you last night, very funny and adorable. <3 Great characterization with your adlibbing; it fit Maya to a 'T' and went very well with the song. You're making me want to record it again... -_- and I've already done it about sixteen million times. haha... Don't worry, I won't put you all through that again. And besides, I need to finish up all my assignments early so I can fly outta here on Wednesday.

Thanks, Salutation Here. <3 Much appreciated.

It's homebrew.
You have to have a special DS cartridge, I have the not so great Games n' Music.
It uses a micro SD card for the data. You just have to get the data to put on it.
People make home made video games and programs that you can play on the DS, I don't have much game wise right now, just an unfinished demo of Cave Story, so I'm looking at the programs you can run on it.
One of the ones was the animator.
I made this.
http://s114.photobucket.com/albums/n243/RoboDuckyX/?action=view&current=KirbyTest.flv
You may need to replay it a few times since it moves fast.
It was my first test so far.

Wauuugh, I missed teamspeak. D:
When's the next one? I don't want to miss the awesome again.

(I was at a Dethklok concert. My body is so sore. MURMAIDERMURMAIDERMURMAIDERRRRR)

BTW, I'm also thinking of re-recording "I'll Be There". I've been practicing, and I think I can hit some of those higher notes now. Anyways, we'll see...

Haha, It's an I'll be There Explosion! XD
Okay. *ahem*
:takethat:
Okay, so maybe it isn't really "Take that" worthy, but... I'm finally putting them up.

You know when you listen to a song so many times it starts to annoy you every time you hear it? Like the Guitar's Serenade? Yeah. This song is now like that. Sorry, lalalei. It's still a cool song, though.

Alright, everyone. I have something very important to ask you all about--and no, this will not end up in another recording of "The Scent of Fresh Lemons"

...what? Seriously, it won't.

Kidding aside, I'd like to discuss what has become a very real problem as of late, and that is a lack of enforcing leadership. Gerkuman and Ethed have been nowhere to be seen on this thread, and the members of the thread have been scrambling about in confusion as to what their roles are.

The main issue here is a script. We have been working extremely hard as far as songwriting and composing goes, and I know we're all unimaginably proud of the work everyone has been putting forward in this regard. I'd just like to say that I'm so impressed with everyone's work ethic and talent and everything.

However, there is something that is not getting done. That is, of course... the script.

Yes, I know, I said the dreaded words, but someone has to open this issue up. Now, I of course must concede that we've had our fair share of bad luck in this department. We've seen one of our previous Project Supervisors lose their position due to inactivity, we've seen several people claim that they would do things only to become MIA within the week. The scripting process has become very disorganized and disheveled as communication falters and people just run around in circles. The script writers are all confused as to what they are supposed to be writing, and I'm sure the script supervisor is confused as to who is currently available to write. I'm just saying that this is a fatal communication breakdown, and must be remedied if this project is to further take shape.

Now, I have been a part of this project since December of 2007. The script writing process was set in stone when this project was initially conceived. Now, fast forward 6 months later, and we have easily over 25 original songs, and a vast plethora of recordings from so many talented people. However, we have no coherent semblance of a script. Of course, we cannot progress further in the musical without a script, so that leaves us stuck. I'm sure this leaves more tenured members of the project very frustrated with the knowledge of our true potential after what could be considered our "Golden Age" of songwriting, and it leaves newer members underwhelmed and discouraged. Where does the problem lie? I have to point my finger at the lack of leadership. The leadership has been poor at communicating with the members of this project, and thus, song-writing, which is a more independent process that anyone can do, has thrived, whereas the scripting, which has always been far more organized and required you to be approved by the scripting supervisor, has been, well, a mess.

So what's the point? I feel we need to expand the role of "Project Supervisor" to multiple people. Our current Head and Supervisor, Ethed and Gerkuman, are nowhere to be found on this board. Ethed has not posted on the board at all for weeks, so I do not claim to know what is currently her problem, because it may very well be something big that we don't know about, and Gerkuman does indeed post regularly, just not on this thread. And while they may both have very good reasons for their posting [in]activity, what that means for us is more time in this musical limbo; this rut that we seem to not be able to escape.

Now, I sent a PM of this very nature to Ethed over a week ago, and I have gotten no response. So, now I feel it is time to bring the problem to the people.

I have talked with a few other members about this possibility, and we agree that it's time for a talk. Basically, we would like to schedule an AIM chatroom (we initially tossed around the idea of teamspeak, but some people are not comfortable talking there or do not have the software). Thus, I would like to invite every single member of this project who has something to say about the matter to come and discuss the issue civilly. I would like this to take place on July 11th, at roughly 1:00 EST. This would mean a little before noon for our western members (about 11:00am), and early evening for our European friends (ranging from roughly 5:00pm-7:00pm depending on how east you are). We would be discussing topics such as our leadership positions, our scripting process, and just how to further our progress on this musical. Also, before it's brung up, I am going to PM both Ethed and Gerkuman about this after this is posted, so no one can claim that they didn't know about it.

I would like to end with saying that I respect all of your opinions on a personal and creative level, and that I hope to see you all at the chat on the 11th. In the meantime, anyone who would like to attend can contact me via AIM at broadwaybriner09 if they would like additional information about the chat, or would just like me to store your screen name for the chat invite.

So, please feel free to discuss your opinions on the thread until the date, but the 11th will hopefully serve as a huge communal discussion where we can finally sort out some of the finer details of this project.

Thank you for your time.

Thank you for taking action, Actorman, and I'll do my best to join in. I'll be staying with my friend in Switzerland (I leave tomorrow morning), and her family usually eats around 7:00 PM, but I'll definitely try to be on at some point during the discussion. I'd hate to miss something so important.

So yeah, I guess this is a good time to reiterate the fact that I am leaving tomorrow, for about two and a half weeks. I'll be back on July 20th. I should still be able to keep up to date with the thread, and post every now and then, but my recording and uploading capabilities will be limited. I do hope to get my friend involved in the project, after I force her to finish the first game. :redd:

Great storyboards, otakubox! I most likely won't be there on the 11th, so I give my support to everyone else :) SAVE OUR PROJECT!
