:phoenix: Most likely straight.
:edgeworth: Either asexual or gay.
:godot: Certainly straight(or bisexual. or pan, but whatever.)
:pearl: Unknown, as she is still a child(although, when she's an adult, I can imagine her being gay.)
:delilah-hair: I DUNNO!
:devasque: Who knows, but I can imagine her being straight.
:draw: Lesbian. Dunno why....But still, she could be gay.
:hotti: ....Do I really need to say anything?
:larry: Too obvious. Straight, as he shows no interest to men, but LOVES women.
:kyouya: Bisexual.
:no-no: Adriansexual Gay.
:agent-Smith: Erm, gay, maybe?
:adrian: Bisexual.

That's enough characters for a single post, but it's my thoughts.

Well, with Larry it almost seems too forced, his supreme LOVE LOVE for women. It could be a case of "Girlfriend who lives in Canada". But maybe I'm taking VGR too seriously and it has poisoned my mind to think that every man I meet is gay to a certain extent.

:minuki: - I can't imagine her having any kind of sexuality, but I have seen people shipping her with Pearl... dunno why anyone would think those two would turn out to be lesbians but... eh.

I've decided that I'm going to consider all the characters as bi, unless I support a certain couple.

For example, I support :phoenix: x :franny: and since I don't ship either of those characters with anyone else, they both beocme straight. It would be the same with, for example, :phoenix: x :edgeworth: . If I only shipped those two together then they would both be homosexual.

It's just an easier way, since there is no solid proof for whatever you might think.

:phoenix: Bi, with a clearly preference towards women. Some few men could attract him. (Edgey heheh)
:maya: Pansexual. She's not a "body-oriented" person..
:edgeworth: Hmmm.. Hard to tell. I'll put asexual for now. But dunno, he does have a gay vibe (Phoenix heheh)... Although I can see him in a "classical" romantic relationship with a girl.
:godot: Straight... And sexist.
:franny: Probably bi, but she got repressed femininity. She had to deal with social pressures to acheive "perfection" and throw away feelings for the most part of her life. She could have some kind of emotional attraction towards women but for a serious relationship, i'll say she would go to a guy...
:lana: 50/50 Bi, I can see her engaged with both genders.
:karma: Bisexual. He seems to have repressed homosexuality but I wouldn't say he's 100% gay...
:minuki: Bi-curious/straight.
:yuusaku: Super-emotional guy, but straight.
:uramidn: Mostly straight.
:kyouya: Metrosexual, straight.
:odoroki: He could be bi, but I think he's a "Justin-Timberlake-Metrosexual" guy with a preference towards women.
:chinami: / :april: Bitchsexual
:grossburg: Gay.
:maggy: Straight.
:adrian: Hard to tell... Bi with a preference towards women, i think?
:udgy: Straight. But... uuh... nevermind.
:youngmia: The kind of woman who can occasionally kiss her female friends but is mostly emotionally engaged to guys.

Yeah! IDK honestly it came from my daemon!AU AA fic, where I decided that her's was kind of genderfluid. I believe the phrasing in my notes is:

"Trucy has a bit of gender fluidity going on but she's never named it or anything because Phoenix was a cool papa about it like ok girl do what you want."

(And EEEEE someone finally gets it! It was a gif but I had trashed the .psd and so couldn't crop the gif to the sig size :( )

I never really perceived Edgeworth as gay at all. If anything, he seems to be very shy/awkward around women to the point where it almost seems like he's afraid of women (I imagine growing up around someone like Franziska for several years would do that to a guy). I also agree with the notion that he has a very 'formal' view about women, and I believe that he probably doesn't like "promiscuous" women. To me, his relationship with Phoenix is nothing more than one of two guys who respect each other greatly.

The only character who I really would consider to be outright gay is Jean Armstrong, since it's actually implied in game. All the other metrosexual characters (Ron DeLite, Wellington, Klavier, Kristoph, etc.) seem to be just that, metrosexual, though I wouldn't quite discredit Kristoph as possibly being gay.

Well, Ron deLite is obviously gay. And so is Wellington, talking about glasses and women.

Joke aside, I would say that if Jean Armstrong being gay is implied in the game, so is Tigre and Klavier.

I assume every single character to be straight until stated otherwise. I don't think I am a homophobe (?), but I am not sure how to feel about this gayfest that is somewhat happening here.

The only homosexual/bisexual characters as I see it?

Jean Armstrong, Aura Blackquill. That really is all.

I can see your point as most people are taught from society and media etc. that every single person is straight until proven otherwise. (I'm not calling you brainwashed here, I'm just making a point. Society is biased.) That's why homosexuals and bisexuals often feel the need to "come out" - because people would probably just assume they are straight otherwise.

For me, as a non-straight person, the whole world, the whole society I live in, is a "straightfest" where everyone is assumed to be straight until proven otherwise. I know not everyone is straight. There are bisexuals, asexuals, homosexuals, queers, pansexuals, all that jazz, and in media etc. they have to prove themselves not to be straight to even "exist". Homosexuality etc. doesn't disappear just because people don't talk about it. It would be just as biased to claim everyone was, for instance, homosexual until proven otherwise. Just because something is less common and less seen doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I'm not claiming all these characters are LGBT, all I'm saying is that LGBT-people exist, and they don't have to prove themselves, they don't have to come out, even if they aren't "out" they are still there. In the streets, media, classroom, among friends and family. My point being: Straight people don't have to prove themselves to be straight. Why do LGBT-people?

Edit: Fingers running over keyboards making stupid mistakes. Twice. The post where nothing happens. Twice. That was a reference. To Godot. :godot: I haven't slept in a hundred years, or so it feel. Excuse my ramblings.

Damn overzealous queer screwing up. :kudo: Anyhow, what I wrote wasn't specifically directed to Sligneris, but to all people who think all characters are straight until proven otherwise, and that fans who imagine characters as LGBT are indulging themselves in an unrealistic "gayfest".

You have all the right to believe every characters to be straight, just as I have the right to believe every character to be gay, if I so wish (which I don't, but you know the deal). I don't try to change anyone's opinion, I'm just explaining myself and my reasons.

I agree with you. To further expound on your point, if you don't mind:

The argument that comes next is usually something along the lines of "well, if it's so important to you to have gay characters, why don't you support media with some?" but it's not that simple. I don't like games or shows or movies because they have non-straight characters, I like them because of the same sort of reasons everyone else likes them. I don't relate to cliche, young skinny gay boys with stereotypical interests. Being a fan of something is all about how you relate to it; is it really such a crime to imagine a character you relate to is like you? What's wrong with people wanting their favourite characters to be gay, or bisexual, or asexual, when it ultimately has no bearing on the personality or the essence of that character? I'm sincerely asking that, not being facetious. It doesn't change what the characters are like in canon, and it makes people feel better about themselves. So what?

It bothers me that people assume Jean Armstrong must be gay. It's an insidious thought process of tying sexual orientation to gendered roles. Being a man who acts in a feminine manner isn't an automatic indicator of being gay, even in the case of drag queens. Yes, a lot of them are gay: but it's correlation, not causation. It's no different than how being overtly masculine doesn't necessarily make you straight. I hear this a lot: "X character has never been in a relationship with a person of the same sex. How can you know they're gay?" but... Jean Armstrong has no canon romantic relationships. How can you know he's gay?

And if you're going to argue that most people are straight, so it's statistically inaccurate for more than a token character or two to be anything else: Why does it bother you so much? Why can you accept spirit channeling more easily than you can people of non-standard sexualities? Really think about it, and then get back to me. I'm curious.

This is an interesting read actually. I thought that initially, the characters are wrote based on how they fit in the story, and that any quirks were added in later. Of course, he's own ideas, like how he pictured Edgeworth with a little dog called "Pesu", may not have been the same for other characters, where as he wrote them, and saw the designs flesh out, he may have thought "I always pictured this character to be gay". Kinda like how J.K Rowling said that she thought Dumbledore was always gay, but it was never mentioned in Harry Potter, she just made that comment, so It depends on Takumi and Yamazaki's thoughts at the time.

Although, I do think that Aura Blackquill definitely is, and I've started to become used to Adrian and Franziska (But I initially thought that was more of her 'co-dependence' issues, as she never felt that way for Celeste Inpax to my knowledge), although I never saw the "NaruMitsu" pair as possible, as Phoenix loved Dahlia (Iris), and called Julie Henson 'sexy' in the manga.
But with Edgeworth, I did find this so believable:

But he has flirted with several males in the game, including the judge.

...Anyways, okay. That's a valid point. My new mental exercise for today: trying to imagine Jean Armstrong as straight.

Exactly. I thought of that too, people strive for identification. It's rather important actually, and makes people feel less, well, left out?

I very much agree. People tend to accept anything, but when it comes to more than one non-straight character? (People often have the same issue with POC, but that's a whole different topic.) Well, non-straight people should apparently be grateful if they get the tiniest bit of representation and shouldn't be greedy for more.

As for Jean Armstrong, I couldn't have said it better myself. Yes, he might flirt with men... But it doesn't seem to cross people's minds that he might be, for example, bisexual, perhaps that's the reason for the cute outfits his waitresses wear, for him to have something sweet to look at while at work? (This isn't what I believe, the dress-thingie, what I believe isn't relevant here.)

Also, Armstrong claimed that Tigre flirted with him during the trial where he pretended to be Wright. "I never forget a man who flirts with me", or something along that line. Now, Jean could talk bull, or perhaps Tigre flirted with him to make Phoenix seem even more unprofessional, but even so, he claimed that he flirted with him - yet most people seem to take for granted, in this thread, that Tigre is straight.

Ugh. I wish I could be more well-spoken right now, but I'm about to faint from lack of sleep, just woke up after one hour and intend to sleep some more right about... now.

That comic was rather endearing, the one you put under spoiler-tag, that is! Seems plausible to me. :edgey:

This isn't really directed at you, but I'm a little surprised that people often seem to forget about bisexuality, that there are more aspects of sexuality than gay or straight. (...speaking, of course, as someone who has a game-crush on Franziska yet is also ridiculously attracted to, for instance, Godot. :godot:)
