Phoenix and Maya... if they weren't the frontrunner protagonists, I don't think they would be such a hotly debated couple. I can be swayed in many directions as to whom Phoenix could end up with - I even see merit in the "typical" yaoi pairing of him and Miles Edgeworth, but to be honest I can't see Maya with anyone else other than Phoenix. While Phoenix and Maya are not a registered OTP of mine, they certainly go on my list of supported couples. After all the bickering and exasperating situations she puts him through, you'd think they'd get that unresolved sexual tension out of their systems. |

Phoenix and Maya grew on me while I was playing AA 1 at my own pace. The two were hilarious when working behind the scenes at investigations, etc. I'm a bit annoyed that Maya always seems to be the 'damsel in distress' (*cough* She had to be defended three times..) and that it was Phoenix's job to save her (duh). But still it grew on me.  Pearl approves of this thread. :P

I can't say I'm a huge fan of this pairing, I don't dislike it, but I'm just not someone who gets really into the main canon pairing in stories like this. However, before you tell me to GTFO I couldn't let this go... I really like Maya x Phoenix, although I like Phoenix x Edgeworth better. But I totally adore the Phoenix-Maya platonic relationship, and I can see the potential for romance to develop sometime after the first 3 games. I'd be elated with a canon pairing, though I doubt it will happen. I think in game 2 the writers were keeping the options open for a potential future relationship [since they hadn't decided yet], but decided against it by the time they wrote game 3. |

You need to credit the artist. If you can't get in touch with the webmaster through the sites then include something like artwork from and the source so that credit is given where it is due. At the very least the website the picture came from should be there. |

Well, first off, I'm using the movie, not the book...the movie is just all around better in almost every way. And at any rate, I'm not sticking to either continuity too closely, so there's plenty of room to make Maya's role more proactive and generally likable--in short, more Maya-ish! |

Man Mia, how is it you always find such great fan art? Cute stuff. XD Anywho, I'll join this club. Been a big fan of this pairing since Justice of All. I've always enjoyed the bond between Nick and Maya, at first in GS1 I considered it strictly a platonic brother/sister bond, but by GS2 I started seeing it being able to go further in the future. Unlike some pairings which usually spawn really angsty or drama style fanfics, the majority of the P/M fics I read lean towards comedy and not-so-corny sweetness, my favorite kind of pairing fics. Plus unlike most pairings, we have a canon supporter of it. ^ ^

Eh, I can't say I really like them as a pairing. They're way too sibling-esque IMHO, and the games seem to really rule out romance as a possibility (particularly the third one). I LOVE their dynamic and think they're adorable together... but only platoniclly. Still, everyone's entitled to like what they want to like, and support what they want to support. |

To be honest, I'm not a great fan of any pair. No offense to Phoenix/Edgeworth fans, but yaoi just isn't the thing for me and probably never will be. However, out of all the people Phoenix can be paired with - Maya, Iris, Franziska, Edgeworth (umm...), others - I find Maya to be the most compatible and likely person to be with Phoenix. I like her a lot, and if I must choose I would go for Phoenix/Maya

I support this pairing about 95%. 3% goes to Iris, 1% goes to Franziska, and 1% goes to Edgeworth (The last two get one percent simply due to being based on the odd line here or there, Iris gets three because there's some history). That 5% aside, this is my personal favourite pairing. Despite whatever Phoenix says to the contrary, 2-4 and 3-5 have taught us that he would do just about anything for her sake. I know others will say differently, but that translates as a bit more than "brotherly love" to me. I think Pearl's hit the nail on the head with this one. He is crazy-dedicated to her. |

One thing that bugs me, why is Maya always buying burgers on Nick's salary when, being the heir apparent and eldest survivor of the Fey lineage, she'd be entitled to the sizeable estate of the main family? (Although I suppose it is mentioned that Kurain isn't exactly moneyed, especially with the "Ways to Save Money" scroll...) Though whether or not Maya is loaded, Nick always treats her out because he loves her to bits, right? XD |
