Perhaps it just me, but when I read names, I usually pronounce them in my mind completely different than they really are. I'm aware that that is not the real pronunciation, but in my mind I pronounce them how i WANT them to be.

So, how do YOU pronounce the names?(in both Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice
(Sorry if there is already a thread like this)

Haha, I know my pronunciations are pretty strange. For some reason I think of "call vear" because vear is like fear. And Gal-vin(Yes, I know its Gavin) reminds me of galvanize.

Actually, sometimes I pronounce it Klav- ear. It varies.

I'm not good at writing how I pronounce them but...

:phoenix: "Phoenix" (as in the name of the bird), "Wright" (identical to Right, but with a bit of a stronger sound at the start... yeah, I actually pronounce R and WR slightly different)
:edgeworth: "Miles" (as in plural of "Mile"), "Edgeworth" (as in "Edge" and "Worth" put together)
:udgy: Just like "Judgey" (you know, the kids thingy of adding an "ee" sound at the end) but without the J
:maya: MAY-ah FAY
:pearl: "Pearl" (as in the stone)
:karma: "Manfred" is a real name, "Karma" is a real word. "von" is quite common in surnames for certain nationalities. Anyway I pronounce it to rhyme with "on"
:franny: frahn-ZIS-ka
:godot: go-DO (both rhyming with the word "go"). Before I knew the T was meant to be silent, I pronounced the second syllable like the word "dot" (still emphasis on that one)
:damon: DAY-min. "Gant", to rhyme with "can't".
:sawit: "Frank" is a real name... Sahwit is, SAH-wit ("sah" to kind of rhyme with "car", not sounding like "saw")
:redd: Like the colours...
:yogi: YAH-nee YOH-gee (the "yoh" like in yoghurt)
:lana: LAH-nah. "Skye" just like "Sky"
:jake: They're real names...
:hotti: Like "hottie"
:adrian: They're real names, again
:acro: Like "acro" in "acrobat" of course.
:chinami: DAH-lee-ah. The "dah" rhyming with "ahhhh" (but short), and "lia" like the name "leah"
:igarashi: Victor is a real name, "Kudo" as if it was japanese
:minuki: "Trucy" is a real name
:kyouya: KLAY-vee-ah. "Gavin" is a real name
:payne: WIN-stin pain
:larry: "Larry" is a real name. "Butz" just like "butts".
:grossburg: "Marvin" is a real name. "Grossberg"... "gross" to rhyme with "boss", and "berg" as in "iceberg"
:gregory: "Gregory" is a real name
:meekins: MEE-kins. "Mee" just like "me", and "kins" like "kin" but pluralized
:wellington: "Richard" is a real name, "Wellington" like the place in NZ
:yuusaku: "Ron" is a real name, "DeLite" like "delight"
:javado: "Diego" like in "San Diego", "Armando" is ah-MAHN-do. (like japanese amandou would be, for those who speak it)
:odoroki: "Apollo" like the spaceships, "Justice" is a real word...
:maggy: Like "Maggie" from the Simpsons, last name like "Bird"
:garyuu: Like "Christopher" without the "er"
:zenitora: "Furio" FYU-ree-oh, "Tigre"... no, I actually don't pronounce this like "tiger", more like tig-RAY (the "tig" being identical to in "tiger")
:eh?: "Dick" as in the thing which I have a really big one of, "Gumshoe" like the words "Gum" and "shoe" together
:will: Real words...
:keiko: "Lisa" is a real name, "Basil" is b'-SIL ("sil" as in "Windowsill")... I pretty much don't prounouce a vowel in the first syllable
:uramidn: VI-o-lah (Like "violet" but with an "ah" sound instead of "et" at the end)

No, it's not. Well, actually, I'm not perfectly sure, but in my mind it should be pronounced the same way as the only other Klavier that I know: the German word for piano. Yes, the German word for piano is Klavier. And that Klavier is pronounced with two syllables: Kla (As in the beginning of "clap.") - vier (Like "fear" but with a v instead of a f.) Klav-e-air gets on my last nerve.

Here are some of mine (skipping the obvious ones like Miles Edgeworth) - also no characters from AJ 'cause I haven't played it yet:

:gant: day-men gant (pronounced like gant in French, kinda like GONT)
:snap: D vas-kay
:yogi: yawn-ni yo-gi
:mareka: day-zee-ray (French "r") de-light
:juan: waan cor-ree-da

:salute: mag-gey bird
Elise Deauxnim - ee-lees dough-neem
:shatter: dee-eh-go ar-mon-doh
:zenitora: fu-reo (French "r") tee-gre (French way of pronouncing Tigre)

It seems like I pronounce a fair number of names in French.

You're pretty close. If we want to be sticklers about the German, the "V" is pronounced much like an "F"--slightly different, but not radically so. I guess you could say a German "V" is like a drawn-out "F". We could represent it as "FH". So ultimately, Klavier would be pronounced "Klah-fheer." The sound that we give the "V" is given to the "W" in German. :will:

Well, V is the closest I thought I could get to explaining to y'all in about 5 minutes. I'm a bit pressed for time over here. But your pronunciation sounds better. It's just that, in my German class, I always say it with a V type sound.

xD For some reason I always get mixed up between Maya's name and Mia's name.

Like, I called Maya, My-Ah [that is correct, yesh? xD] but then I saw Mia's name and I thought her name was pronounced My-Ah as well. Then I thought it was kinda weird that two sisters had the same name so I tried to force into my head that Mia was Mee-ah not My-ah but it still hasn't stuck. xD

I call Phoenix Fee-Nix but whenever I sound him out [like when I'm typing his name on the computer or something] I always say Foe-Nix. xD

Oh yes, and I really unbeleivably hate Damon so I always pronounce his name Demon Gahnt. xD

ANNNDDD. Because I haven't played the third game yet I keep on pronouncing Godot's name as Go-DOT instead of Go-DOH. xDDD

I pronounce Klavier's name like Caviar [that fish egg thing?] but with an ell. xD
